Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend (2022)
embarrasigly super-woke
It should be about food, but what we're being served is 90% propaganda. Same usual keywords that have nothing to do with the food, I'll not repeat them here. Most cooks look dirty to me, with all those tatoos, with hats in the kitchen, whatever. And the hosts act like super-lame nerds, they totally turned me off.
Broken: The Incredible Story of Brangelina (2018)
a "documentary" made by vultures. so disgusting...
Look at all those creepy faces. Nobodies!
This is Hollywood today: something happens to someone famous, and all kind of idiots are making a "movie", giving us their "expert" opinion.
Outcast (2014)
nice Chinese movie...
...with some American actors, as props.
Snow White will soon be a Chinese lady, surrounded by former famous Hollywood actors playing the dwarfs.
Nice...
Debunking Borat (2021)
this guy was funny once (first time) but now he's just gross
I stopped it when the two Montana guys were telling him about the "Wuhan virus". And he came up with the Illuminati logo on screen (again).
Well, dude, now even your progressive-woke-whatever fellows have to admit this was NOT a conspiracy theory, at all. So stop promoting movies made for China in America, it's just disgusting.
Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics (2020)
drug addicts = opinion makers
...and this is so cool for Millenials or other people here. If this is the new standard of our society, we're doomed. Look at the high rating of this documentary, narrated by people who had no idea what they did. While romances or other good feel movies get hammered by the same delusional individuals.
The Baker and the Beauty (2020)
Too much gay/lesbian propaganda
It had its moments, and the celebrity actress looks stunning. But we're once again exposed at too much pro-gay and lesbian propaganda. In moderation it would be fine, but here the recruiting team is on the field.
Also, the main actor is a bit chubby, the lesbian daughter eats too many unhealthy hamburgers, and too many "Latino family hugs" with no real meanings.
12 Dates of Christmas (2011)
Amy Smart at her best
Typical Christmas movie, but...
I always liked Amy. And here she is all she can be: cynical first, then clumsy, funny, geeky, etc.
She's just a good actress, and she made a very ordinary movie look better than it was.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Loved the first one, but this one is really bad
Bad acting, and old actors no longer funny.
But I get the weird feeling they have no idea why their first movie was good.
Embarrassing...
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
Made in China
Obvious infusion of Chinese capital, with Chinese quality in return: when you initially think it was cheap, but you later realize you got crap back...
Miwosch do kwadratu (2021)
Silly "modern" Polish film (forget Sienkiewicz)
Polish people are great, but they chose here to copy the bland libtard Hollywood.
He's just a dumb good looking guy who loves women (you know the type). And she's a rather ordinary school teacher who does nothing special but has amazing results at the end. The dialogue is silly, cheesy and conventional. No real feelings. Cartoonish.
Nashville (2012)
First 3 seasons are great, then just plain boring propaganda
As usual, you start dealing with all one-sided silly typical cliches starting with season 4. It's like watching CNN or going to a feminist convention...
And yes, characters always die in these soap operas, but I counted more than 3 episodes - each one hour long - where people were still mourning someone, it's like the writers went totally out of ideas.
I barely reached the middle of season 4 and stopped watching. Despite the fact first three seasons are pretty good.
Paradise Beach (2019)
ok, I know I'm against the flow, but...
1) Melanie looked great and I enjoyed her character.
2) Mehdi? I get it. A guy who spent 15 years waiting to get his part. He didn't get it, and he screwed up everything else... It's kind of tragic.
3) His brother screwing up his own family just for the sake of his selfish brother deserves some stars.
4) What I didn't like was so many guys with tones of tattoos. I get it, it's today's fashion, but it looks dirty and silly to make so many maps on your own skin. just saying...
Virgin River (2019)
Filmed in Vancouver (like 70% of such series today), but we still pretend it's US
I love US, don't get me wrong (I lived for years in Boston or Seattle), but I am Canadian and I spent most of my life in Vancouver, where this series is (also) filmed.
I simply don't get, don't people know where Canada or Vancouver are on the map? If you constantly watch on your screen our beautiful mountains, and waterfalls, and lakes, why pretending each and every time it's somewhere else in the world?!
Before I Fall (2017)
A good teen movie
I don't know why so many reviewers - even if they have something positive to say - must mention first they were sick of so many teen movies. Let me guess: they are teenagers and they actually watch tones of teen movies. And they enjoy them. But it is "cool" to pretend they are sick of them.
Grow up, this was a good movie. Yep, mostly for teenage girls and with teenage girls. But I enjoyed it. And I'm a grown up male. The movie had substance in the sense it shown the risk of becoming someone superficial at that age, because of your friends and stereotypes around. The movie asks you also what is good and what is wrong. Most teens forget this difference today, they just blindly embrace social justice causes without asking questions. It's just because other "good" people around them do so, and told them so.
I'm not surprised anymore that almost every time I see a movie with great woods and mountains, it was made where I live. This one was actually filmed exactly in my small gorgeous town, few hundreds of meters from were I live...
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Mickey Mouse for adults
This is my first review in a very long time. But now I'm truly wondering if Millennials or whatever should not be rather called The Mickey Mouse Generation.
Yes, I've been young as well and I loved Star Wars and special effects. Or Disney, for this matter. Problem is I watched Mickey and Donald until I was 11-12. And The Lion King in my twenties, hmm... However, there was a reason for this: I watched it with my 6 years old daughter!
I don't get the popularity of such a dumb and silly movie, with a talking raccoon and "hey dude" dialog. Is this "cool"? Or current video-games and Marvels-dependent generation didn't grow up? If you guys will be the future world leaders, soon enough, we're screwed.
...Grow up, people, just please grow up. It makes me sick to see what's happening in US universities, with snowflakes looking for "safe spaces". To see great movies on IMDb or Netflix slapped with 2-3 stars, and Guardians of Mickey Mouse or whatever with 10. That's no longer "cool", that's dumb. And you lose respect for your whole generation.
Sing It On (2015)
Best Acapella reality TV show
If you like Acapella and want to better understand what it takes to get to the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate Acapella) finals, this is by far the best show in town. I found it even better than Pitch Perfect, because it is about real people and real groups.
Some may be disappointing there is not enough singing in the show. But you can find complete performances and well beyond on you-tube. This is not an American Idol show, it's more like a documentary. But you'll be touched by the friendship within the five groups followed.
To try to be the best means you have to think you're the best and try to achieve this status. It takes huge effort, patience, hours of training. With no other reward than a shiny trophy and the feeling you walked the way. But for only one team.
Just enjoy it and don't get too critical, this is reality show at its best. It has some of the best ingredients: friendship, music and dance, competition, human touch, pure joy and pure deep sadness.
