Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
Fun to Watch Until the Last Two Episodes
I liked the write-up, not the usual murder procedural, a female protagonist, Spanish locale, interesting mystery premise and the first few episodes built the story well, provided an interesting back story and then the last two episodes were just ludicrous. John Wick, James Bond and every other agent all wrapped up in one small woman. The plot really spiraled out of control, the body count built up and the action was fast and furious and totally ridiculous and it just stopped being enjoyable. Were the writers just getting tired and wanted to end the story? No creativity, not even a shred of believability. The ending is just a distraction, brought down the whole series for me.

Not as Serious as One Would Expect
A quirky little piece of WW2 history, starts off well but then just flutters along and dissipates and becomes less realistic and less interesting and quite predictable. Never quite sure whether to be serious, romantic or humorous. Lot of name dropping and cameos of European artists and intellectuals but they mostly come across as stereotypes and comic relief.
The lead characters are very attractive, I especially like Gillian Jacobs as Mary-Jayne Gould but her character evolved from steely can-do woman to the standard woman who melts when the good looking guy falls for her. And, what would a 2023 show be without the requisite gay affair. Much of the story becomes very hard to believe (even though it is based on a true story) and a bit hard to follow, were the Germans and the Vichy French really that stupid?

A Movie Only a Critic Can Like
Whoever called this a "dark comedy" needs a recalibration -- this isn't any kind of comedy, it's not even dark, it is just depressing. Yes, the scenery is gorgeous and you get a real feel for the time and place but that is it, otherwise, it is very hard to watch. This just seemed like a random 1 or 2 weeks in the life of these characters but there was no context, no backstory, I guess the movie is trying to say something about life and relationships (presumably more than just the obvious), but I just didn't didn't see it. No comparison at all to In Bruges or 3 Billboards, both of which were had much more developed story lines and characters (and both in my mind, were more like dark comedies).
Bosch: Legacy: Always/All Ways (2022)
Somewhat Over the Top
A good not great continuation of the series. Madison Linz is even worse than in the previous seasons. That storyline is awful and she gets too much screen time. Bosch seems to think the rules don't apply to him. Lost some of its gritty appeal.

Great to Have Season 7
Have been looking forward to Season 7 after Covid-binging on the first 6 seasons late last year. Does not disappoint, love Harry of course but the continuing development of the supporting characters and the side stories is what makes this such an interesting watch.
Character development and casting is excellent with one exception -- "Maddy". I really dislike the character and the actor. Is she someone's daughter and was put into the cast as a favor? The writers must not like her either because they give really bad lines (so out of character for the rest of the series). How many times is she going to say "Dad, you are scaring me"? And, with the semi-serious, worried look. Dopey! Bad writing, bad acting.
