The Dark Knight (2008)
The White Knight becomes The Dark Knight
Not only is The Dark Knight one of the best Superhero films of all time it's a great crime drama as well. It goes without saying that the late Heath Ledger gave an incredible performance as the Joker. In my opinion however I think Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent and the Two Face was very well done. Everyone talks about Ledger's Joker portrayal, and rightfully so but I think Eckhart's performance was underrated and overlooked as a result. Some of the best scenes involve Aaron as Dent/Two Face. I liked the little hints early on in the film that indicated his eventual transformation such as him kidnapping an Arkham patient and threatening him which shows what he's like under pressure. Also the fact that he knew Gordon's unit was corrupt didn't help. Joker eventually was the catalyst in Dent's transformation into Two Face in a great Hospital scene.
Batman (1989)
Burtons First and Best Batman
This is in my opinion the greatest Batman movie ever made. The Gothic feel of the film, the dark tone, everything is perfect. The music score of the film is one of the many big highlights of the movie because it compliments the scenes so well. The cast do a wonderful job in their respective roles and each suit their characters that they portray. The film actually looks fantastic and is made for the big screen and even though I have the film on DVD I would still watch it again at my local cinema if they ever re-released it. This is one of those movies I can watch over and over again because it flows nicely and has so many scenes that I love to watch. This film is highly recommended.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: In the Pale Moonlight (1998)
Captain Sisko's Dark Side.
One of my favourite episodes of DS9 which was the most different and unique of all the Star Trek series. I liked this episode in particular because you get to see a side to Captain Sisko that you don't usually see to an extent. There are many highlights in this episode. Garak who is a wonderful character makes this episode more enjoyable. I like the fact that Sisko gets physical with Garak. The fact that Sisko is willing to sacrifice his starfleet ideals in order to save the Alpha Quadrant. I liked that entire scene and dialogue at the end of the episode where he says he will learn to live with what he is done. Captain Sisko suits the darker tone of DS9.
Sarfarosh (1999)
Favourite Aamir Khan movie
I am big fan of Aamir Khan and this is my favourite movie of his. It is a superb film, very well made. An intelligent film but still a commercial one which I like. Aamir Khan is a joy to watch. You can tell with some actors when they are trying hard to portray their characters it makes you enjoy the movie even more. There are several scenes I enjoy in the movie. I love the scene where he is at the hospital and he is reading a newspaper when one of the villains appears and tries to bribe and threaten him. When he jumps from the chair and on to the villain it gives you a bit of a jump! I also love the dialogue between the Aamir Khan and Mukesh Rishi when he tells he tells him his purpose of joining the police force. Definitely a film to watch if you crave an intelligent film.
TNA iMPACT! Wrestling (2004)
TNA Future No1 show
I am big fan of TNA Wrestling and hope that very soon it will overtake WWE as the No 1 Wrestling Company. AJ Styles becoming the TNA World champion is the best thing thats happened to TNA in a long time. I'm glad that TNA is pushing its younger talent in recent months. Matt Morgan, Hernandez and even Eric Young have enjoyed high profile pushes in the main event. The Main Event Mafia in my opinion is one of the better ideas of TNA because it gets the balance right. There are always going to be fans who like the veterans as they are well known and some who like the newer guys. So by having a mixture of both I think you have a winning formula. The matches are great and I think are better than WWE because since TNA is obviously a smaller company but a growing company then the wrestlers are going to go that extra mile for the fans and for their company. I think the only thing missing is that they need bigger impact arenas and more fans in the arena. This will show to the audience at home and make them curious as to why so many people are at the arena watching TNA.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993)
Bring on the Movie!
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is by far the best Star Trek spin off and my favourite. I has a darker tone which I like. It also has a lot of great episodes and performances throughout the series. I thought that the final episode 'What you leave behind' was one the best episodes of the series. It was an emotional episode as well as an action packed one. The way they ended it leaves room for either leaving well alone or doing a DS9 movie as Sisko had to stay with the prophets in the end but indicated that he would return. There was talk a while back about an idea of bringing characters from all the incarnations in to one epic movie but I don't think thats happening now. That would have been incredible.
