Never seen a better Indian Film Yet
Not often in Indian movies everything works out perfect in all aspects, for once it did happen with this movie. I happen to read a headline in a column that suited just perfect to this movie, "This is how Indian movies are to be made".

We shud have got the message from the song.. 'why this kolaveri'?
Spoilers!! After all the promos and songs i was expecting to go watch a breezy romantic flick, and i guess that is the big mistake i did. While watching the movie i felt like am i the only one who feels this terrible to sit and watch this and trust me i felt relieved when the whole theater started to make fun of all the so called emotional scenes. Iam not the one who dislikes movies with heavy subject, its just that i wonder whats the point of all that at the end of the day? Danush is dead scene one and shruti hassan cries thinking about it for the rest of the movie! Now as a film goer why would i pay to go and watch such a movie ? This film reminded me of siddharth's 180 which has a similar sort of theme which also had some heavy scenes and yet in some way was a feel good movie. Anyway, I should say the direction was pretty good that too from a first timer. Acting - whats the challenge here for danush to take this role which he did far better in his very first film? Almost everyone would say this has now become so monotonous from danush but how come the actor himself couldn't realize that i wonder! I really wish movies are made for the audience to enjoy and nothing else. If we are advised to appreciate sensible movies i would politely like to say that for that we have a LIFE of our own and thats already tough enough to handle, we don't want to watch that on screen for another two and half hours as well. Like danush in the movie we are already depressed enough.

Best of Rajini's
Contains Spoilers! This is one movie that makes me miss Rajini as an actor every time i watch it. Being a die hard fan of Manirathnam its no surprise that this is one of the best all time movies for me, and not to mention Illayaraja's music its just awesome. All said there is one-thing that i couldn't get over with in this movie. The base of the movie is in itself on the friendship between these characters Surya and Devaraj and i felt the formation of this friendship is not solid enough to make it stick i felt. Afterall the only reason Surya says that he would even given his life for Deva is because, Deva has mistakenly made Surya arrested and put in jail for killing one of his men and later realizes that and brings him out of jail (only that Surya did kill Deva's man and Deva only realizes that Surya has killed him for the right reason). Now this is supposed to be the only reason why Surya does anything and everything for Deva is a bit unfair at least to me considering the rest of the movie falls with this friendship as backdrop. Does anyone else felt that way ? Now barring that one-thing i still think this is one of manirathnam's finest.
