Quite a fun ride
30 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I was surprised at how good this turned out to be. Expected it to be just another found footage and since it was shelved since 2014, thought it probably wasn't going to be that great. But when it gets going, I was on the edge of my seat and the killer(s) were quite terrifying. Except for one annoying character and maybe too much use of the line "Why are you doing this to us", I was impressed. Ending was ok but left open for a sequel. Check it out.

Quite good adaptation of the Novella
6 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
i was surprised by all the negative reviews. But that may have to do with the name Stephen King and expectations that it will be a horror thriller. It's not. It's more a domestic drama with dark undertones, just like the novella he wrote. The acting was spot on. Joan Allen was perfect. So although it may not be worth paying to see in the theater, it's quite an interesting well made drama that can be enjoyed on the small screen at home. I agree with one reviewer who compared it to a well made Lifetime movie. But I like some Lifetime movies. So give it a try if you like those as well. But stay away if you are seeking out a blood soaked thriller.

Yes and No

Warning: Spoilers
First off, I was not bored throughout the film....I thought the setting was great, it was well shot and the acting was spot on. I really loved the dialog and some of the lines were laugh out loud funny. As other reviewers have said, it feels like an extended episode of the twilight zone as strange things begin happening to a group of people stranded in a hotel in the mountains. However, some of the actions of a few characters didn't really make sense to me. When one guy freaks out and starts shooting a gun, I didn't get why he would do something so out of character for him. I also felt as if the writer had created a really interesting and involving mystery, but had absolutely no idea how to resolve it.....hence the ending was for me just too sudden and open ended. Perhaps he plans a sequel? Or perhaps I must re-watch it and see if I missed something. Either way, I had a great time watching it...so check it out.

Excellent Horror Drama but not for everyone
1 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this at the opening of Fantasy Filmfest and was totally surprised. Although I was expecting a typical zombie virus movie, this turned out to be a much more character driven story. The horror came not from blood, gore, or undead...but from the living. What the living characters in the film were willing to do to survive...to others and to themselves was chilling. I found it incredibly disturbing, suspenseful, and even touching. However, my friend fell asleep in it..so, it's really not for everyone. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy their horror a bit more subtle and intelligent. I really wanted to talk about it afterwards,to discuss what I might do in this situation but as I said my friend missed most of it...so I posted on IMDb instead.
