Let Me In (I) (2010)
You need to have good movie palette
30 July 2011
I love sci-fi and critically acclaimed movies, but I just did not like this movie at all. When a movie is so well reviewed by professional critics yet has made so little money in the theaters, you know you to have a pretty advanced palette to like it. I thought I did, but this movie was just so different than anything I've seen, yet so uninteresting as well. I would say 9 out of 10 average moviegoers probably will not like this this. I am a big fan of Chloe Moretz and think she is a fabulous actress. I thought the other kids in the movie were great actors as well. This does not make up for the plot.. I don't know what else to say, it was just really bland. I can't suggest this movie and feel I am worse off for having watched it

One of the Best Series I've seen
29 March 2011
I was not expecting much when I started watching this but I was quickly proved wrong. The first episode was kind of slow, but after the characters were developed and the gladiatorial games started, this became a roller coaster ride of emotions and action. There are so many twists and turns throughout the series, that there are no shortage of shocking and devastating scenes.

In describing the style, I would say it is cross between Gladiator (storyline/character development) and 300 (cinematic style). With the gratuitous nudity and blood, I would say this would be more geared toward a 18 - 40 male crowd, but the story really would appeal to almost any audience, as long as they don't have a strong bias toward the old roman films/shows of past. This is unlike any show you have seen on the roman era. Very innovative, and I highly recommend and can not wait for season 2.

Surprisingly Good Movie
31 May 2010
I saw the previews for this and thought this was going to be one of those slapstick stupid comedy movies (Superbad, Super Hero Movie). I came on IMDb and saw the rating and the reviews and I thought I'd reconsider after doing some research on this. I was very wrong with my initial assessment. Yes, there's some teen comedic elements to this movie, but the movie flowed perfectly. Great Soundtrack, great fight scenes, acting was good, story was great and original. With a current IMDb rating of 8.3 as I write this, look's like I'm not alone on how I rated this movie. Show stealer was definitely Hit Girl. I foresee her having a huge career. Possibly the next Natalie Portman. Reminded me of Natalie's role in Leon. Which leads me to my next point. Unless you're into comic books, video games, in your teens/20's/30's and don't have a young kid, you might be taken aback that a little 11 year old girl is killing people and using bad words. For those that gave this a bad review because of that, do some research on a movie before you go see something that you think you won't like. I hate musicals and I'm not going to pay 10 bucks to see High School Musical and then come in here and complain that there was too much singing and dancing. It's clearly geared at a older teen/young adult audience and is rated R, what did you expect. In closing, one of the most entertaining films I've ever seen.

Bad Movie. Not Scary. Hated it!
22 October 2009
This movie was not scary at all. There was nothing I liked about it. I went in there with too much expectations and was waiting to be scared senseless but it was a complete waste of my money! Scary movies stick with you and this didn't at all. I had watched "The Fly" for the first time last week and although I didn't find the movie scary, the characters stuck with me. The acting was as bad as a bad porno (literally). Keanu Reeves is one of my favoriate actors, so that just proves how I'm not someone who bases my love of movies on the perfection of acting. None of the character decisions made sense at all. I would strongly suggest that you just wait for it to come out on netflix or blockbuster and rent it (don't even buy the movie because it loses everything after first viewing) and watch it with friends with the lights turned off or something to get any kind of effect. Horrible. Just horribleeee! My dog stole my pants, my cat stole my hat, yippie dippie skippy doo the monkey got them back!
