The Vanished (2020)
The only thing that's vanished is my sanity
Figured out the 'twist' in the opening scene, however I hoped I was wrong and stuck with it until the end. Wish I hadn't bothered! Film felt 100x longer than what it actually was as I was basically just waiting for them to confirm what I thought. If you don't figure out the twist quite so early on as I did, maybe it might be a bit more enjoyable? Give the first 10 minutes ago, if you realise where they're going with it, turn it off because it's really not worth your time!
Child's Play (2019)
Not child's play.
Enjoyable if you think of it as a stand alone film with no ties to Child's Play but it's by no means 10/10 like some reviews on here!
The original film I felt sorry for Andy, this film/remake, I felt sorry for Chucky. Poor little robot just wanted a friend! Some good laugh out loud moments, however I'm not sure they were really necessary and it kind of ruined the vibe! It just made Chucky more likeable... honestly, I was rooting for him the entire film!
Brightburn (2019)
Dullburn
Just when it starts to get interesting, it ends. Felt very rushed, a shame because it's a good concept just not executed all that well.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
Mary snore-pins
Utterly disappointed with this movie. As a huge fan of the original Mary Poppins, I was so excited to see this. Unfortunately, after the first song I wanted to walk out of the movie theatre. I persevered however, but regretted my decision when the credits rolled! None of the characters where particularly likeable, the songs where easily forgettable and all sounded exactly alike, there was no real story and don't even get me started on some of the questionable 'cockney' accents. I feel completely let down by Disney with this movie, and as with all remakes/sequels these days, felt like a cash grab job. Next time someone goes to remake a much loved classic, I'll avoid at all costs!
Paranormal Activity (2007)
what's with the good comments?
I was told by a lot of people that this film was ultimately terrifying, and would be the first to scare me. So me being a horror fan was dying to see this film. I can see how the concept of the film could be quite scary, because most of the time you watch a horror film your not truly scared until the dreaded 'bed time' occurs. The lights go straight on and you're too scared to blink just in case something happens! And as this film is based around the bedroom i can see the scare factor... BUT it was boring!Nothing really happened in the film apart from the occasional thump in the night, which just repeated itself several times until the end.
It started off really slow, and continued to stay slow. The only reason i stayed in the cinema was because i thought it was going to pick up into a terrifying nightmare that would actually make me at least jump a little bit! I was wrong.. BIG TIME
If you want to go and see a half decent 'documentary style' film then watch the Blair witch project or rec. Don't bother wasting your time on this... if i could take back those 2 hours of my life i would! Don't waste money on this...
It's a good concept completely wasted!
