Men (2022)
The worst movie I have seen in years
I have seen many bad movies, but this one is on the top of bad movies in the last few years. I cant really understand how this movie has 6/10 rating here in IMDB ? Like WTF guys? It started alright, but then it was complete nonsense and so illogical, gross and pathetic that I wanted it to stop. The last 10-15 min are just .....bruh , I prefer to eat mud than watch this peace of garbage again. CIA can torture terrorists with this movie. The worst movie I've seen since Movie 43. I knew at some point that it's going to be bad, but I had hopes. I've seen mediocre movie with impressive ending, but this one is quite the opposite. Stay away from this movie, if you have 90 minutes to waste please better stare at the ceiling instead, you'll thank me later. Like jeez, who's even paying for this and what actor would agree to act in such disgrace of a movie.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Finally a movie that's worth it
Finally , a movie that's worth it, a movie that makes you stay and enjoy it, a movie that doesn't make you check what time it is. Everything is done correctly as it should without trying to force something in your troat. The characters, the story, the pace, the enemy. It kind of look like a movie from another era done with modern era technology. Movies decades ago had this amusing factor, they were enjoyable for kids and adults, and this movie is just that plus modern CGI and cinematography. It's not a typical pop corn movie, it's a movie that deserves a reward.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Oh boy ...
I knew Matrix Resurrections was bad, but I didn't know how bad, so I decided to watch it. I was surprised to see that it was even worse than I thought. First of all the whole movie was totally unnecessary. The whole plot had no real and significant purpose, they should have left it a trilogy, the 3rd movie ended good . There were too many references to the first Matrix it kind of felt like a parody of it at some point. The movie leaves this feeling that it wasn't made by the same people , it felt like a cheap Netflix version of the Matrix made by someone who's just learning how to make movies. Or maybe it was super important to take a d7mp on the trilogy with that modern progressive agenda.
Gokseong (2016)
Not what I expected, in a bad way
Well, I was kind of fooled by the good rating and some positive reviews. The movie is long, maybe too long, somehow naive, silly and pretentious at the same time. Unfortunately it is disappointment, at least to me. It was messy and at the end the evil won. I hate this type of movies. Not to mention that nothing got explained and there were people coming from nowhere with some purpose and nobody knows their motives. It's a mess.
Gisaengchung (2019)
Am I the only one who didn't like the movie?
Wow I can't believe the hype. Am I the only one who doesn't like this movie? Considering the awards and the hype I was expecting a master piece or something extremely interesting, entertaining, deep and with a plot twist. None of this happened. The movie is just okay, it didn't have a goal, it's just some random stuff happening just like that. Not to mention that none of the characters were likable and you can't create the bond, respectively you don't care about them. Most of the events looked fixed, unlike other korean movies where the realism was better and the tension was real. Until the end I was expecting some great twist, similar to the Cabin in the Woods for example, but no, it was just a massacre that was actually expected and it got executed poorly and in a naive way. I really just don't get it why is this hype, the movie is ok, sometimes difficult to watch because it's long and slow sometimes, kind of watchable, but definitely not a master piece, far from it. Very overrated in my opinion. The Awards were handed for political reasons I guess.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
Mediocre at best
Everything in this movie screams mediocre, sometimes less than that and in very rare cases it somehow goes a little above average. Chris Rock is terrible, just terrible, his character is obnoxious like he's doing it on purpose so that people can hate him. Most of the characters are also purely obnoxious to the level that nobody cares about them if they die or not. That's not good for a movie. There must be likeble characters, it creates a stronger feeling and the viewer makes a bond. The plot is like from a B movie, the execution is a little more than that but it never goes above mediocre. The dialogs are a mix of random talks, cliches and unnecessary jokes. I'm not a SAW fan, but this is for sure the worst SAW movie. I'm giving it a 5, but I think that I'm too generous. Watch it if you have nothing else to watch.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
It's a mediocre movie unfortunately
I was having high hopes, because I grew up with the games and the movies and knowing what could be done with today's CGI I was kind of optimistic. Unfortunately the movie turned out to be a silly low-budget like mediocre movie. Don't get me wrong, it's not too bad, it's watchable, but it's not good either. The only good thing in the movie are the ninjas - Sub Zero and Scorpion + eventually Kabal ,the rest is just too mediocre for my taste. I still prefer the original Mortal Kombat movie. This one was a mess, silly story-line, bad actors , forced, rushed. I wouldn't recommend it to the hard-core MK fans.
Antebellum (2020)
Well that was bad
This movie had potential, it started really well, it could have told a good story, provided a meaningful lesson, but in reality it brought nothing more but hatred, stereotyping and division. At some point the plot became silly, unrealistic, too biased and overall it was disappointment. This movie is focused too much on race and gender and some obsolete stereotypes. Instead of presenting us with interesting and complex characters, good story and development the movie just tries to compensate the black people somewhat by providing them some sort of revenge. While the only thing that it achieves is not a lesson, but more division. 100% of the white male characters were bad, 95% of the white women chracters were bad. The timelines were messed up and not in place. The stereotyping is just ridiculous. I understand that this movie is from black people for black people, but c'mon guys, you can do better.
Unhinged (2020)
Mediocre at best
And again we have a movie with an evil middle-aged white men. The movie had potential, but they decided not to develop it. The plot starts okay, the characters were introduced decently, the actors are okay, but at the end you're going to see a mediocre movie at best. Yes it does have some dynamics, some tension, but you won't see anything extraordinary or complex. It's just a middle-aged angry white dude who's angry at everyone and everything for his miserable life. And for some reason he's super strong, super determined, nobody can stop him and he can literally wipe out everyone in the city if he likes to with bare hands and nobody can stop him, not even the cops. If you just want to waste 80 minutes by watching some thriller then that's fine, you may enjoy it, but there are tons of better movies out there.
Project Power (2020)
Poor or mediocre at best
Well I really wanted to like this movie, not because of it's great and revolutionary idea, but because there was no good movies of this type recently.
Well it blows. Very naieve, absurd and predictable story, the main characters are not deep-enough so that we can connect with them and eventually like them and it starts almost immediately with the action. There are a lot of forced cliche moments and it's just insulting for the average viewer.
That diversity mania is fine if done right and balanced, but in this movie it's more like - black people good/decent , white people bad/evil.
In general I give it 4/10 , if you have nothing else to watch, I mean literally nothing else, than don't watch it.
Extraction (2020)
Well it's good for one time
I could easily say that this is an above average action movie, it's worth watching. It starts great, with fast pace, great and dynamic action, some pretty cool shots and fighting/shooting scenes, but at the end they've lost it.
The enemies looked like walking dead people that are just waiting for the bullets to hit them. I hate it when the movies are not trying to be at least a little bit realistic and the good guys kill hundreds of people easily, while the enemies are wondering around like idiots. I understand that the good guy should kick ass, but it could've been a bit more balanced.
As for the story well it's a typical action-movie story, what do you expect? It's decent.
Just watch it.
Underwater (2020)
Mediocre at best
It's not a bad movie, it's decent, but it's just so mediocre that it hurts sometimes. The plot, the dialogs, the whole idea and execution is simply mediocre at best and I'm not even that pretentious. There are plenty of other movies of this genre that are better.
Anyway , just watch it if you're into such movies and you'll see for yourself. If you're a younger person who has never seen movies like this one then you might like it.
Line of Duty (2019)
Not that bad
Okay I get it why lots of people are angry with this movie, it has tons of flaws, but still it's kind of fun to watch. To those who love 90s action movies and are not very keen on details and who just want to watch a decent action movie you may watch it. If you are quite pretentious and you expect a master piece or an awesome movie then stay away.
Joker (2019)
Better than expected
I had mixed feelings after watching the trailer. I said to myself that this won't be a good movie, no effects, no fast-paced action, no Batman, no classical Joker.
Actually you don't need any of these in order to make a great movie. Joker is brutally realistic and atmospheric. It makes you feel thorned, in some moments you like and emphatise the main character, in others you hate him. We witness the development of a character and the birth of the Joker in a very realistic way. We miss such movies nowadays with good story telling, great atmosphere and almost to no CGI. I just loved it, this is what cinema should be every now and then.
The Prodigy (2019)
Mediocre at best
The Prodigy is mediocre at best. Cliches, bad choices by the main characters, disappointing ending. It's an okay movie if you want to watch a lite horror/thriller and you don't have anything better to watch, but the chance to be disappointed at the end is quite big.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
An entertaining and good ending of the era
Let's face it, the movie is good and entertaining, well made with a few holes. Currently the score is that high ( more than 9) due to the hype, but the real score is around 7.
I was expecting more dramatic ending and more deaths to be honest, but Marvel are too kind, so they would never do that.
There were a few holes, like how the f did they discover the time travel within a few minutes? Something so complicated and impossible was discovered within a few minutes movie time. They should have spent more time on that.
Thor was funny indeed but they really ruined the character, made him a monkey-like troll.
A big ship was teleported and broke the entire building's ceiling , but nobody heard that? What?
There are other details that were neglected, but I am not Rotten Tomatoe , I won't bash on the movie just because of a few things.
As I said , the movie is well-made, good, entertaining, enjoy it.
My score : 7/10
The Walking Dead (2010)
not what it used to be
Well I understand that they're trying to milk the show, because that's what they do these days with successful shows, but c'mon, it's getting boring and ridiculous. The show was bad ass and little by little it turned into a mediocre TV drama with zombies here and there and of course it has to be shot in the woods, because it's cheaper. What happened with the bad ass story, intense action, cool characters, different places? I'm watching the show only for Daryl and eventually Rick's come back and the long-waiting final. It's getting more and more disappointing with each season and each enemy/villain. The so called new good guys are just not that likeble, nor believable. When the show started I gave it a 8 or 9 out of 10, but now it deserves no more than 3 out of 10.
Aquaman (2018)
An entertaining good movie
C'mon guys, why so many of you are putting 1/10 or 2/10 ? I understand that you might be Marvel fanboys, but be real and put an objective score. The movie was entertaining and well made. That's what such movies all about, at least the majority of them. Some say that there were cliches and it was predictable, well yeah what did you expect? Hollywood to come up with a new formula with that movie in particular? C'mon, be real and stop acting like you're professional critics and you're getting paid to bash on some movies. Once again - it was a good well made entertaining movie. Period.
Venom (2018)
I had high expectations
It's not a bad movie, but not a very good either. Lots of flaws, cliches and inconsistencies, predictable as well, if it wasn't for Hardy the movie would have been bad. Some super-hero movie received way more criticism than they deserved, but this one deserves criticism. Yes, most people might find it somehow entertaining, but that's what Marvel is all about. Unfortunately for me I have seen lots of super-hero/comic-book movies and this one I wouldn't put in the good half. It's just nothing to like, except Hardy (but that's definitely not his best role, far from it) and a few jokes. It's meant for 14-16 years olds in my opinion. Sorry if I'm hard on the movie, but let's not fool ourselves, it's just an okay movie.
After the Dark (2013)
Good idea, mediocre execution
The idea is good, it started OK, but at some point you'll notice that this movie is not that philosophical, nor logical. Especially the ending. I was ready to give the movie a 6, but the last lets say 20 minutes ruined it. The irrational decisions, teen spirit, bla bla and the very ending were disappointing. I hope that someone worthy will develop the idea better next time.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
A bad movie
I was told that the new King Arthur movie is pretty good, but I barely managed to finish it. Now I'm glad that I watched it at home and not in the cinema, because once I reached the middle I was so bored and disappointed so I just skipped to the final battle.
This movie is bad, ridiculous, a mess, boring, uninteresting. People say that it's a mix between Game of Thrones and Lord of rings and maybe they may have a point, but it's rather a bad mix of these movies.
Is it so difficult to make good movies nowadays? What the hell is going on in Hollywood?
Step by Step (1991)
One great nostalgia show
It's a nice show, full of normal and natural happenings and moral conclusions. Characters are all different and interesting in their own way. It's not the best show ever, but it's definitely one of the best family sitcoms of all time, a show that will bring you back to the early 90s, a time when everything was simple. I miss those days.
Too bad that they don't do such shows nowadays, comedies these days are all dolled up, fake, forced, unattractive characters, somehow intensive and in general don't provide you with the chill happy feeling that those old shows like Step By Step or Alf brought to us.
The Mist (2017)
It's not bad, kind of interesting
I don't understand why people are bashing on this TV Show that much while there are plenty of awful shows out there with good ratings at the same time. In general The Mist is not a great show, but not that bad either, its rating here is misleading. The show is OK, kind of interesting. It has good moments and also the typical slow drama time killing stuff that every show these days has. It's concept is interesting, the characters are OK, the story line is not bad either. Whoever want to watch it feel free to do so, don't pay attention to the rating.
Prison Break (2005)
Not the same as the original but not that bad either
Guys, be realistic. Repeating the success of the original, especially the 1st season is impossible and you know that.
Yes this show is very different, yes it has flaws, yes it looks worse in almost every way - story-line, acting, pace, etc but if you look at it from a different angle you will see that in general it's not that bad, especially when most TV shows nowadays are not even close to the best shows 5-10 years ago like the original Prison break, Fringe, Dexter, Heroes, etc.
I didn't expect the quality of the original, so I was not disappointed in general. My only regrets is that it was only 9 episodes, so they had to rush the things up a lot, but I guess that is because of the tight budget thing, so it's understandable.
Sure many would be disappointed and they have their reasons but it was nice seeing Mike, Link and T-bag once again after all these years.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
You won't be disappointed unless you are a prejudiced whining man
BvS, especially the ultimate edition is the superb super-hero movie of all time to this moment. Unlike Marvel's products that are just fun to watch on a saturday night this one is deep, serious, stylish, dark, realistic as a much as possible for a super-hero movie. It has it all - great characters, great story, development, deep drama, great action, perfect music. It perfectly portraits how the two super-heroes would struggle in the real life, because life is far from perfect. The reference to other stories like Injustice is awesome as well. Lots of people are bashing this movie for two main reasons - paid critics like Rotten Tomatoes that gave the movie a score of 29/100 so they bashed literally everything that they can think of and people are usually sheeps and they trust what they read. I haven't seen such an anti-campaign towards other movies of this type, it's not like you can't bash any movie out there if you like. And the other reason is the dark tone of the movie - people are used to be happy , to be smiling and expect movies to bring them joy, like what Marvel are doing or the comedies with The Rock and others alike, while BvS was the exact opposite in this matter - it's dark, grim, serious, it keeps you the edge and it doesn't make you smile. That's why BvS is different and not for everyone. Lots of people went watching it expecting to see a Marvel-type movie full of jokes and good-endings and they got disappointed. That's their problem. You have to know what you're watching. BvS ages very well, I'm watching it every now and then and I enjoy a lot each time I see it. Superman is awesome and Batman is brutal. If you haven't seen it, just reserve 3h time slot and watch the Ultimate edition, you won't regret it.
