The Simpsons: Another Simpsons Clip Show (1994)
Season 6, Episode 3
5/10
One of The Simpsons' weakest episodes although remains watchable with its best moments.
13 June 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Not everything The Simpsons touched in its prime was gold. There were some episodes which did have lower quality than usual including this one. After reading a romantic novel one night in bed and touched by it, Marge eventually the next day decides that the family should go over their past romantic experiences i.e. through earlier episodes. Many which have had unhappy endings in their relationships with their beloved one.

The title of the episode is virtually exactly what it is. Scenes from earlier Simpsons episodes are heavily used, more likely to outnumber in length of the original scenes of the episode. Examples of recycled scenes include Homer taking a bitten hot dog from a wading pool from 9F06 or Bart, Lisa and Maggie watching an Itchy & Scratchy cartoon "Flay Me to the Moon" from 9F01 with the scene of them laughing and Marge entering the room directly taken from 7G12 with some minor edits such as new dialogue.

Much about Another Simpsons Clip Show is banal. Nothing more than a weak plot dealing with romance which seems irrelevant as The Simpsons embraces more on comedy although with some emotional moments and would have been better if the episode aired sometime in Valentine's day as well as the plot more likely to appeal to,well, the female demographic. The producers of The Simpsons unfortunately have had to produce episodes with scenes of past episodes known as clip shows to save costs by FOX, the main broadcaster of the series, as it was told that they cost about half to make than regular episodes. Nonetheless, this may as well be The Simpsons worst clip show next to 5F24. At least the series' first clip show,9F17, was a superior effort as it was funnier, had a better plot and used flashbacks less. Which including subsequent clip shows other than 5F24 were better.

Easily The Simpsons' worst Sixth Season episode and one of the worst overall in the series' although fortunately, clearly better episodes succeed this one and The Simpsons still went strong afterwards.

Pokémon Gold Version (1999 Video Game)
9/10
With new Pokémon, dozens of side quests, two worlds to explore and conquer, Pokemon Gold is a superb sequel worth having in the Pokemon phenomenon
24 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
When Pokemon first debuted to Japan and to the western world countries such as America, virtually every children was crazy about Pokemon. The games, the TV series, etc. It was a inevitable pop culture phenomenon in the late 90's. Now taking it to the next level, sequel games from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow are Gold, Silver and Crystal. The latter a Game Boy Color exclusive. Game Freak has put tremendous effort in GSC and that really shines through.

The gameplay is fun as it is innovative. While you still have to collect all the Pokémon with now new Pokémon added and get 8 gym badges, there are so many side quests to do and you can even go back to Kanto after getting the 8 badges from Johto and defeating the Elite 4. Yes, you could play back just like in RBY. A time feature has been incorporated. That means the game is set in real time. If it were day in the real world, the game would be day. If it were night, the game would be night. It could also have morning or afternoon settings. A bug contest near Goldenrod City is set in Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays which in real time that happens as well.

The graphics may be still primitive and hasn't dated great but it was still good enough and at times there was a smooth frame rate at battle mode. Only Pokemon Crystal has animated sprites which would have been cool which would have been nice if it were included in Gold and Silver.

The soundtrack was nearly flawless. Every sound in the game was well composed. From the simple yet anticipation beat from a Pokémon evolving to an epic final battle music when battling against Lance from Elite 4 and Red. The soundtrack in Kanto was remade and it is either better or worse in some areas but still good.

I only owned Pokemon Gold and it was often worth playing. I made possibly the biggest regret of my life when I let my brother throw it away. It was one of the best games I played and I often wanted to play Pokemon Ruby for its improved graphics and stuff. I almost completed Gold, I probably was up to the area where you battle Red but stopped playing. God, why have I done that? Yes, I should have beat him then stopped playing. I can remember the Pokémon I had as my main team. Typhlosion or sometimes Feraligator, Pidegeot, Ho-Oh, Kadabra, Ampharos and probably Butterfree. I often recruit Pokémon to defeat a (Johto) gym leader's main type's weakness. For example, I used Kadabra to defeat Ecruteak City's gym as they used ghost typed Pokémon which are weak against psychic moves although Psychic Pokémon are also weak against ghost moves.

Yes, the paragraph up here was a little too personal but it was mainly nostalgia reasons. Pokemon Gold has a long playing time. Going from Johto to Kanto, collecting all 16 badges, facing Team Rocket-again, etc. This has it all crammed in a cartridge. I must warn that Pokemon GSC has a time battery which storage is temporary. That is, all the data in a file will be lost by some years. No joke, this actually happens. This can be remedied by having another time battery in.

Pokemon GSC is a near fantastic game with excellent qualities. Pokemon fans will not be disappointed and others should give this a try or check out the remakes, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver for Nintendo DS. I don't have a DS though. A suburb game that should not be uncollected.

Red Faction (2001 Video Game)
9/10
Gameplay, innovation and narrative merge well together in Red Faction, resulting a worthy and solid game
22 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
So I had this bundled with my PlayStation 2 I got back in Christmas 2001 or 2002. Ah, yes. Some nostalgia here. Although Red Faction was also ported on Xbox and PC, this was when the PS2 was having improved software as launch games in 2000 like Eternal Ring or Donald Duck Quack Attack were quite weak. This is one of the best FPS ever with tight gameplay, an interesting story and an innovative feature known as GeoMod. Short for Geometry Modification, this was a technology that had all if not most environments destructible. You could make a tunnel by explosive weapons, destroy a bridge so things on would fall etc. Not only was it a cool feature but it enhanced gameplay to these several neat tricks. GeoMod was possibly one of the selling points of the game.

The story has Earth some years in the future i.e. the year 2075 out of minerals. As they are needed to survive, it is decided to mine some out of Mars as the latter planet has some. It revolves around a miner named Parker, who criticizes the poor work conditions in his job in the prologue. Guards from Ultor Corporation who operate the mining place are inevitable. One day, after a dismissal for miners. One of them lectures a guard and attacks him which the miner gets shot. A rebellion planed by miners has began and you as Parker must fight your way out alive.During which, there have been ill people in the complex from an illness known as 'The Plague' which cure is unknown.Throughout most of the single player adventure, you kill guards trying to stop you. Later on, Mercenaries are to attack Parker rather than guards, which are tougher and all.

The gameplay is strong. What I like quite a lot is that it feels like a continuous adventure through places like Half-Life. Places are different when you progress through the game and each often having interesting qualities as you move on. A good selection of weapons, from a pistol to a rocket launcher to a rail gun. What's good is that you could select quite a handful of them whereas in some FPS like Halo 3:ODST, you could only have 2 weapons not counting grenades.

Of course, they are problems in Red Faction. The graphics are good and detailed but are out dated now, some dying screams of guards are quite too intense and awkward and the ending feels unfinished. Parker is a hero and The Plague is cured, that's it. What about the minerals for Earth? Mars probably terraformed or something. It would have been nice if there was an epilogue by Parker or someone but maybe the ending was rushed.

Red Faction is a solid game for mostly anyone. It is worth a buy and a play. It could take a few days to complete but it still is a great game.

Bean (1997)
7/10
A pleasant motion picture fare for Mr. Bean but the lack of consistent humour and some predictable areas make it too flawed.
22 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Mr.Bean has been big in TV back in 1990 in the television series debut then. Though it wasn't very funny, it certainly was entertaining and the lack of Mr.Bean's speaking made it easy for to be understood by people in various regions.

It is shown that his job is a museum guard at the (Royal) National Gallery. I suppose he used (too much) time in his hands elsewhere from the film. His employers want to get rid of him for his ignorant ways in his occupation. They send a painting known as Whistler's Mother to an art gallery in Los Angeles along with Mr.Bean there along as Dr.Bean. He meets and supposedly befriends a curator named David Langley, who offers him to his house along with his family. As usual, mayhem occurs by Mr.Bean.

It is an entertaining film, it has humorous and imaginative areas but it's not quite clever as the near eponymous man. Some non intellectual humour like Mr.Bean moving up and down on an air dryer to dry a wet spot on his trousers gives a possibly sexual impression, a man who also used the men's toilet there saw him and probably thought of that. Mr.Bean talks more in here than the TV series, the animated TV series or the 2007 film Mr.Bean's Holiday. He spoke in full detail a speech about the painting near the end of the film but hesitated a little during it.

The plot is sometimes generic. It could have been something epic yet as comical as the TV series. Going to America would have been better as an episode or a TV film. Some of the best moments like Mr.Bean restore the Whistler's Mother(as he damaged it by sneezing on it. He wiped it but caused blue ink on it from a pen spill on the tissue. He takes the painting to a room and fixes it with a chemical. It cleans the painting however soon liquidizes it or something, he wipes but then smudges the face of it entirely) by household items although he used a poster for the picture but these still are rare moments.

Bean is an enjoyable film with a handful of funny, entertaining moments. Though it only has the shadow of the TV series it was based from and it would not appeal to everyone. It is still a worthy collection for Mr.Bean fans and is also not that bad.

A Fish Tale (2000)
7/10
An enjoyable children's flick though some awkward plotting and forgettable songs render it to be overshadowed.
20 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Help! I'm a Fish pretty much came out of and exited to nowhere. OK, to be precise, it was produced and first released in Denmark as Hjælp, jeg er en fisk. Virtually no one knows the film as it possibly had very little marketing, I probably saw only 1 television advert of it. While it is an underrated gem if not, it's not spectacular in some terms. I cannot locate the full film which only some or most scenes are available.

The plot is quite straightforward. It is about 3 children who turn into fish. One is a boy named Fly who turns into a Californian flying fish, along with his younger sister Stella who she turns into a starfish and his cousin Chuck turns into a jellyfish. They go to a houseboat of a marine biologist called Professor MacKrill. He develops a potion that turns humans and possibly other species to various sea creatures as he predicts the Earth's sea level will rise by the Polar cap melting i.e. people would drown. MacKrill also made a potion to turn things to a human. The children drink the fish potion though they do not know its effects. They then realize their fish and must find the human potion by sunset tomorrow or they will stay fish for good.

It certainly isn't a generic story but of course, this is only the beginning of the film. The characters including the children as well as a seahorse that tags along called Sasha aren't quite colourful if not unmemorable. The villains are quite irregular. The main antagonist which is a pilot fish named Joe along with an unnamed great white shark. The two develop human characteristics by sniffing the human potion. Joe uses the antidote to have a new civiliastion of intelligent fish. While he has potential of a good villain, he doesn't do evil things often. Rather selfish ones. There's hardly anything monumental in the narrative.

The animation is decent and good for Denmark. It compares itself to major studios like Disney. The CGI is noticeable but blends fine with the traditional animation. The songs are forgettable which they are song by characters. The Danish haven't realized here that characters no longer sing in hand drawn films although the film's release was early for this concept to follow(which gives a possible thing that singing characters in films before the 2000's decade was compulsory).

It is unknown of the reception or box office of the film. It's likely it had mixed reviews with a low box office. Not to be offensive but I have never heard of the film since I saw it once on TV. The English language version of the film was released 2001 unlike its original Danish speaking one about a year ago. The 00's has seen a decline in popularity for traditional animation even if they had CGI. Instead, CGI films had reigned supreme in box office mostly than critical reception. Help! I'm a Fish is one of them and other films such as Osmosis Jones, Treasure Planet etc. In other words, the film could have had a low box office for poor awareness, audiences losing interest in TrA films as well as box office hits in 2001. From CGI successes like Shrek to Live action fare Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone, H!IaF may have unfortunately been DOA.

No instalments have been made from the film to date. That is, no sequels, prequels etc. However, a pop song was produced called I'm a Little Yellow Fish based on the film and a fansite. It is quite a shame as there is more that could be done from the narrative such as fish turning into humans. It could have been direct to video most likely. The film isn't for everyone. It has scenes that would appeal to children but some scenes that may be unsuitable for them such as a crab injuring Fly as a fish by one slash (which probably had him with a injured leg when turned back to a human).

Help! I'm a Fish is a neat film that could have been better. If not then it needed more marketing. The 'Little Yellow Fish' song is more memorable than the other songs in the film combined though it isn't all that great though enjoyable (for some). It also shows Denmark could pull out a good film that could stand among major countries in the motion picture industry like the USA. Anyway, this is all I could say, happy watching.

Halo 3: ODST (2009 Video Game)
9/10
Engaging, Addictive and Well-Paced, Halo 3: ODST successfully breaks new ground for the Halo series.
19 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first Halo game I have ever played. Yes, I probably have been living under a rock for the past decade or that I haven't got an Xbox but I do have an Xbox 360. I have lost a lot of interest in gaming. The final 'spark' there was probably just the very second I got the 360 in Christmas 2008. Very bad timing indeed. Except Hexic HD, I haven't played the games much and I find them underwhelming. Also with my PSP and most other forms of gaming.

Now, one day, another game was bought and it was Halo 3: ODST. So, recently I have been giving the 360 a chance and all and tried out the game. Though it doesn't rekindle the interest I had with games, it is still a good game worth getting.

An interquel set during Halo 2 and 3, You take a role of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST). The aim of the game is unclear though you take role as one of them as 'Rookie' who each ODST was separated one by one including him. You take his role in the hub of the game and in the final level. You find objects that are highlighted yellow (this can only be done by having the 'light' on i.e. press the (blue) X button) and pressing RB on them, you would go through the levels of the other ODSTs. The plot in each one is familiar but varies. You often have to defeat the alien alliance known as the Covenant in various ways while doing other stuff.

The gameplay is consistent, addictive and generally intuitive. Being mostly a First Person Perspective (though it goes to Third Person if you carry a turret or use a vehicle), slaying each of the covenant is often mandatory. They also appear in the hub of the game as Rookie, also there trying to kill you. The enemies which are the covenant range in terms of strength, endurance etc. From Grunts, which are a short species with a cone like hunchback. Easy to kill and sometimes flees but fight in numbers which is not so easy to Hunters. Which are a large, powerful species wielding a powerful green energy weapon which you can't take after they die. They're tough to kill and often strong long ranged weapons and grenades are practically the only way to defeat them.

The story is also eye-catching and not boring. Even the meta game known as Sadie's Story. Which depict a young African woman or girl during the Covenant invading the Earth. The story can only be heard and finished if you collect all the audio files containing a segment of the story, which are found through sound machines hightlighted yellow through New Mombasa in the hub of the game. The graphics are nice. Detailed and nearly flawless. The rough frame rate kills some realism but they still shine through. The sound and acting were also fine.

Although like all if not many things, Halo 3:ODST has flaws. Firstly, the damage sensor which the player's HUD glows red all around when being attacked is distracting. The story is quite short. You could complete it in about 4 or 5 days for a casual gamer. Hardcore ones could complete it shorter. How long it would take is unclear, as there are 4 difficulty settings. From the easiest to the hardest; Easy, Normal, Heroic and Legendary. Completing them all is optional though you would unlock achievements i.e. get some gamerscores and probably some other stuff. The multiplayer disc that came with it is nice as well. It has a similar engine to Halo 3. You play or compete with players around the world. Xbox LIVE and online access is required.

A good game that is fine to play, Halo 3: ODST succeeds in taking the series to break a new ground. It may also spawn newcomers to approve the game in this new concept. Worth your money, it is a decent bargain and is welcome to any Halo collection.

The Simpsons (1989– )
9/10
Universally appealing with wit and humour, The Simpsons is a great watch (in its prime)
18 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The Simpsons has had a mixed bag in its history. It has been the longest running prime time animated series of all time by now running for over 20 years. The family and perhaps the cartoon itself was conceived in 1987 though existed as Tracy Ullman shorts for a couple of years until having its own television series in Christmas 1989 and to this day still running. Unfortunately, the result of a long running creative work fed with ideas is running out of quality things for them and losing the original if superior workers as they move on. This has happened to The Simpsons and has been doing so for over a decade.

The series has some decent moments every now and then but it is past its prime. When it was in its golden age, nothing could touch it. It had such good wit and humour that only a handful of other TV series could be on par. The Simpsons also facing increased competition later on from rival series like South Park, Family Guy etc , which then it was still going strong though not quite at the very peak.

Skipping the 1987 Shorts, here is a timeline rating on the series quality in its years.

1989-1992: Early years

The Simpsons prepared for its first television series. The season finale of the first season, Some Enchanted Evening, was the first episode made though it had production difficulties. Long story, it was delayed and the series intended debut in Autumn 1989 became Christmas 1989 with the first episode 'The Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire'. Season 1 and 2 were decent seasons though quite weak. The animation was crude but at least it was watchable. Homer sounded quite different as it took to the second season's finale Blood Feud to establish his trademark voice. The second season's humour and animation was better than the first though it wasn't quite in its best yet. Bart was the main character due to his popularity in the early years of the series dubbed 'Bartmania' though Homer would take his breakout place and have it since to this day.

1992 - 1998 Golden age

The third season was when The Simpsons really could get there. The series improved up to here in both quality and animation. With Season 4 possibly the best Simpsons season of all time. Subsequent seasons such as Season 5 and 6 were strong as well. The animation improves more and more though between Season 6 and 8 though humour was quite corny at times during these two seasons. Season 7 and 8 was also good though not quite the very best. Stories now expanded on even non Simpson characters. The Simpsons is in its prime during these seasons, having plenty of great and worth watching episodes.

1998 - Present Declining years

The series during the ninth season seems to struggle here. There are some of the final genuinely good episodes in the season like The City of New York Vs. Homer Simpson but then are mixed with weaker ones like the controversial The Principal and the Pauper. By season 10, it is clearer that the series has passed its prime. There were still some decent episodes but it has lost quite a lot of its magic. The show runner then, Mike Scully, has been to blame. It is possible the series creator, Matt Groening and some other significant of The Simpsons left the series to work on another series which would be Futurama.

Season 11 was possibly the weakest Simpsons season ever. Not to be biased but it had a good share of forgettable episodes and the series hadn't been the same then and still. Some standouts like Treehouse of Horror X and Behind the Laughter but these failed to have the season 'up there'.

Season 12 had improved if not equal episodes like its predecessor. Still some forgettable episodes.

Lots have said Season 13 was the worst Simpson's season ever. This may be so by some duller episodes and being still not on par to the series best years. Season 15 probably had the original staff who departed to work on Futurama back due to the series cancellation in August 2003 which the fifteenth season began in Late 2003.

2005 - Present Current status

The series is still going weak and in 2005 was when the episodes were getting duller and duller as well as less funnier than ever. I stopped watching the series regularly in about season 18. I just lost interest in the declining quality.

I can't sit through the episodes fully now. And if you're saying I have grown out of the series, no. Some scenes of the older episodes in the golden age still make me laugh. Everyone prefers the old Simpsons back then.

The animation has improved progressively from season to season, being cleaner and all. The characters had large pupils sometimes in the fourth season, the character's skin looked slightly green from season 6 to 9. The character's eyes looked a little blue in some episodes produced in 2004. As well as the series beginning to use digital ink and colour beginning in season 14. Some also even criticize the technologically superior animation now compared to before, such as having the characters now inflexible than before.

Overall, The Simpsons is a decent television series. It was born good, thrived greatly then descended poorly.

Early years : 7/10

Golden age : 9/10

Declining years : 5/10

The Little Mermaid Screwed : Return to Disaster
18 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Love 'em or hate 'em, most of the Disney direct to video films which are often sequels are worse than the originals. Beginning in Aladdin's sequel, The Return of Jafar, lots of them are poor quality and are made to cash in. Ironic as Walt Disney didn't like sequels with this quote he once said, 'I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things.' Then would he be disappointed with this string of supposedly sequels? Of course.

One of the worst sequels Disney has ever made is The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. This is a low quality sequel to the beloved and high quality 1989 film, The Little Mermaid. Not only was the original a commercial success in the box office and met with critical acclaim from critics and audiences but also saved the animation industry which had been in a decline for some while sometime after W.Disney's death in 1966.

The film's narrative is almost the opposite of the original. Instead of Ariel wanting to come to the human world as a mermaid, in here, Melody wants to come the the mer-world as a human. Ariel is a dull hollow shell of herself here. Yes, she is no longer the main character but there was no need to suck out her personality and put it to an irregular fashion to her daughter.

Eric sounds different and has little dialogue in the film. Melody is not that likable. Sebastian is not quite the same he was in the original, in fact, he doesn't appear as regularly now. Why is Flounder, now a father, even fatter now? Being overweight does NOT make you look older. Scuttle rarely appears as well.

The new characters included are not very good. Morgana is rubbish at magic unlike her dead, skilled at magic sister Ursula, in fact, she even 'takes' a potion of Ursula's magic. She copies her; She does wriggles her tentacles while everything except her eyes fade to black, the same her obese sibling did in the original film. Besides, she is not a very practical villain. You don't immediately go and threaten to have a beloved person dead for something important. That's like if you held someone at gunpoint for the bank's money in real life. Morgana then realizes she needs to manipulate an idea for the trident like Ursula did.

It's like she wants to be like her sister. Despite envying her as she was their mother's favourite. Morgana is determined to be only be her mother's favourite by having her hands on the trident. The final battle from her evil doings i.e. making an ice fortress with anyone bowing down before her wasn't very comfortable but hardly that scary. Ursula's final battle was possibly the darkest Disney ever produced. The enormous, powerful Ursula controlling the ocean like a sinister god with the menacingly dark colours at night scared the living daylights of quite some people and they also feared the obese cecaelia alone. Her much thinner sister is only a faint trace of her wickedness.

A penguin and walrus named Tip and Dash seemed Artic equivalents to Timon and Pumbaa in both appearance and personality. Undertow is not needed especially as a grumbling piranha. Morgana's minions which are manta rays Cloak and Dagger are silent but not intimidating. Ursula's minions which are eels Flotsam and Jetsam who are also dead, were possibly intimidating by their irregular voices and hideous look like their master. The French Chef, Louis was his name? Still wants to cook Sebastian. Man, really. As he said, he's old(er) and too small for a meal.

Grimsby and Carlotta never(if not rarely) speak as well as barely them appearing in the whole film. Triton looks younger and why did he did nothing when Morgana kissed Melody?

The animation is poor quality. It's bright, garish and quite a rough frame rate. I don't like it when there's that smooth visual thing by rough frames that is also probably present in The Return of Jafar. The original was much better, possibly one thing that built its success. Compared to the labour of hand drawn and painted cels, this is merely digitally coloured ink and coloured done with little effort. Although the film's animation is not as bad as the 1992 TV series with the same name which is indeed poor at times.

The songs are childish and possibly forgettable. I can't sit more than 6 seconds on one continuously. The original film had a good variety of songs as well as better ones. From a Calypso music themed 'Under the Sea' which won an Oscar to a spirited music like one 'Part of Your World' particularly the last reprise of the latter.

Fortunately, most of the original cast reprised here. This was also Buddy Hackett's final voice-over for a film, who plays the often absent Scuttle here and in the original, d.2003. Eric's original voice-over hasn't reprised and he sounds embarrassingly different. The others are fine though Ariel sounds deeper as she is now grown up and all. Morgana sounds like Ursula as it was the same voice-over as both the cecaelia sisters, Pat Carroll.

Another sad thing is this was released on my birthday. I got good news and bad news about the Disney's direct to video films. The good news is Disney will finally end production to them. The bad news is some more will be made i.e. Tinkerbell prequels. Why is it CGI whereas Peter Pan is traditional yet set after them?

Well, that's about what I could say. This is not a good film. It is indeed better off never made and is needless like most of Disney's DtV films Watch if you're a die hard TLM fan and rent it instead of buying it unless you want it to fill your collection.

Though not on par to the small screen's counterpart at its prime, it still is better than it now and is a good film at its own right...
17 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The Simpsons has spawned beyond the television world. With merchandise like toys, games etc, it has become a pop culture phenomenon around the world and virtually anywhere with critical acclaim from children and adults alike. Now finally going to the silver screen as eagerly anticipated, The Simpsons Movie is a neat film but could have been much better, probably than it should.

It begins in church where Grampa has a mental breakdown though he could sense things in the future. 'Twisted tail! A thousand eyes! Trapped forever!!Eeepa! Eeepa! Eeeeeeepaaaaa!' Apparently he is correct to all of them. 'Twisted tail!' meaning literally a twisted tail from a pig Homer adopts called Plopper or Spider Pig or Hairy Plopper.'A thousand eyes!' from a mutated animal with a countless number of eyes, 'Trapped forever!!' meaning the huge glass dome covering Springfield for it damaging the environment.Eeepa! Eeepa! Eeeeeeepaaaaa! is also right. Although it is an acronym for Environmental Protection Agency,EPA.

Later on, an angry mob of Springfielders attack the Simpsons house as Homer (accidently) caused the 'pollution' by dumping a silo with Plopper's feces in a river (which it recently then was being cleaned as decided by Lisa). The river once again becomes dirty and a squirrel becomes mutated in it. The citizens find out it was Homer's silo as it was labelled with his name on it.

The Simpsons are trapped in their own house by the angry mob which the only way out in one piece is by the sinkhole in a sandbox in the garden. They each jump through, Homer struggles through but eventually makes it. The sinkhole gets larger and larger and sucks in the family's property and destroys the house. The Simpsons are now homeless with their wrecked yet vacated house uninhabitable.

They flee to Alaska while the EPA are looking for them for Homer's silo incident. The Simpsons mostly have a swell new life at Alaska. Meanwhile, back at Springfield, the town tries to break through the wall, to no avail. The furtherest they have proceeded was a mere crack. Head of the EPA, Russ Cargill, sees this and then has another 5 options for the president. He picked number 3 for the first 5 but was clued into an intended choice by Cargill - Blowing up Springfield.

The Simpsons see an advert which declares a new Grand Canyon in the same site as the would be obliterated Springfield. Aware that it is an intended destroying of the town, the family decide to go back to Springfield except Homer who thinks they don't need as the citizens tried to kill them. Homer stays in Alaska whereas the five go back. He eventually leaves Alaska soon though his family are found by the EPA and taken back to Springfield.

A bomb is activated in Springfield. Homer gets in the town through a hole at the top. He rides a motorcycle with Bart holding the bomb around the top of the dome. He throws the bomb at the exterior of the dome, which explosion cracks the glass and destroys the dome. Cargill is knocked out and probably killed by Maggie by a rock, Homer gets a good reputation from the town, the Simpson's house is being rebuilt and everyone in general is happy. The End.

I indeed saw The Simpsons Movie at the cinema. I was anticipating it months before its release. Though it probably was released earlier in the UK, there were floods in the country that had some stores and stuff closed. Rough time there. The film is generally good. It has funny and creative moments, rich animation though it could have been smoother and is memorable. But it was disappointing, it was like any other. The Simpsons years ago was not.

I understand the effort here, that the script had been rewritten numerous times but one time, it was originally intended Season 4's premiere 'Kamp Krusty' to be the movie. The episode didn't fit for a film but a Simpsons film then could have been great as the series was much better then.

Overall, a neat transition from possibly the most famous cartoon family ever and would please fans of the series and possibly others.
