The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022– )

A little hesitant so far

I really had no expectations for this show as the movie trilogy by Peter Jackson are amazing. But I love the universe.

I was actually impressed by the first episode - I was intrigued.

The following episodes were not as good in my opinion. But not bad.

I enjoy this show way more that House of Dragons which so far is a snoozefest.

Don't let the IMDB score fool you on that one!

I enjoy following Galadriel's story as we didn't get much detail in the movies about her origin.

I don't expect the show to reach the heights of the trilogy but it's big shoes to fill but it's a decent start.

We'll see how it goes.

House of the Dragon (2022– )

Boring so far!

Well I'm still waiting for this show to pick up but so far it's really boring and the characters pretty bland. The actors are no where near as good as in the original show.

I hope it picks up as I like the universe.

The music is great and the technical aspect is also pretty great.

The story so far fails to engage me in anyway and I don't really root for any of the characters as I did on the original show.

I will keep watching as I hope it will pick up in either this season or the next.

Matt Smith who plays Daymon Targaryen is the most solid actor so far on the show but comparing it with the original show it still falls short IMO.

We'll see where the show goes...

Dune (2021)

Boring!!!

What a boring movie and at least 30 minutes too long. 8.7 aveage rating- really...!!??

Definitely not gonna watch part 2.

Didn't know much about the Dune universe and after watching this - don't really care.

The writing for this episode has to be the worst i've ever seen. The way Karev is wrote off is so unbelievable that it is embarrasing. The show has to be terminated soon as the best characters is gone. It has gone from good to mediocre at best. The ride was definately not worth the fall!

Mulan (2020)

Don't understand the negativity

I had no expectations for this movie what so ever but was surprised in a good way. The cinematography is amazing. The story great and the casting of Mulan spot on. I think this is by far the best of the converted animated movies yet!

Grey's Anatomy (2005– )

WAS a great show

So I am almost through season 10 and I have to say that up till season 9 it was pretty great but due to the events in season 8 where some characters died. The new cast that is introduced in season 9 is no where near as interesting and neither is the actors. But the show is still watchable just not as enjoyable.

Birds of Prey (2020)

BAD movie!

Wow what a bad movie. No storyline, not funny, poor acting etc. DC really have a problem converting their comics into good movies (except for the Batman movies with Bale). It's shame as I like DC's superheroes and villains a lot more than Marvel's. Stay away from this movie!!!

The Purge (2018–2019)

Season 1 meh - Season 2 pretty good

After watching season 1 I wasn't sure I would see season 2. But I'm glad I did. It's so much better than season 1. I agree with the people saying that you should skip season 1. Season 1 4/10, Season 2 7/10.

Boring concert

I bought this bluray because I think Adele has a good voice. But after watching the concert I have to say the concert is quite boring. I think you have to be a fanatic fan to give this concert 9-10. Actually in the two last songs I felt she gave more of herself and that's why I ended on 6 and not 5 stars. She seems to have a great personality and is quite funny which is why I'd rather share a beer/drink with her than attending another concert.

The Lion King (2019)

A little flat

First I loved the the Lion King from 1994 - great soundtrack, great animation considering it wasn't computer animated but hand-drawn and an amazing voice casting. The latter is really where this movie falls short. the voice casting is so inferior compared to the 1994 version and the music shouldn't have been re-recorded. I actually think that Beyonce is miscasted as Nala both the talking part and the singing part. This is not hating on Beyonce. She's very talented but her voice just does'nt fit in this. The CGI on the other hand is VERY impressive and this is really it's only strong feature and of course the story never grows old. I will stay with the 1994 animated version due the the perfect voice casting and the original soundtrack!

Mother! (2017)

Worst movie ever!

I don't understand why Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem is in this movie. The writer and director must have had a mental breakdown making this and the movie company that allowed this atrocity should have their license revoked. I can't warn enough against this movie. Just watch something else!!!!

A Star Is Born (2018)

Lady Gaga is the reason why I give as much as 5 stars!

I don't get the hype about this movie. It's pretty boring and way too long! That being said I think Lady Gaga is clearly the reason why this movie is watchable (and I'm not even a fan!). It's nice to see her natural looks. She's charming and have a good voice. I usually like Bradley Cooper but this is just an average performance from him. If it hadn't been for Gaga I don't think I would have watched the whole movie.

The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)

Bad!!!

I normally only rate the movies but this one is so bad that this is a warning! It's one of the worst movies I ever seen and that is an accomplishment in itself. But the script and the acting is dreadful. I considered to stop the movie many times but I've read good things about the movie beforehand so thought it would redeem itself but it didn't!! Stay away!!

The Bodyguard (1992)

Movie above average - Whitney's voice one in a billion!

When you think of all the poor attempts by music stars that makes the transition into movies I think Whitney do a decent job with this movie. She couldn't really fail either as she has to play a big star. The movie itself is okay. The highlight is of course the soundtrack which is also the best selling soundtrack of all time and one of the best selling albums of all time. Whitney's voice was a treasure and she could sing it all which is showcased a few times in this movie. So all in all a watchable movie and unfortunately also a reminder that one of the greatest singers is gone.

Gotham (2014–2019)

Great show

As others write I had to get through season 1 before it really got hold of me but since then I think it's one of the best shows out there. Great cast with great performances - mostly Penguin but also The Riddler. I think it got better after Jada Pinkett Smith left. There's almost never a dull moment and I think it's great to see Gotham before Batman was "born". I would like for the show to continue just unto before Batman, but I'm afraid it won't as I can imagine that such a huge cast is expensive. But I will definitely be watching as long as it's on.

The Walking Dead: The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (2017) Season 7, Episode 16

Great episode

I don't get why people thought this season was bad nor the finale. I think the final episode play out as one can expect due to how season 7 has been AND that season 8 had been announced. The acting is as great as ever and for me there has been many suspenseful moments in season 7. On how many shows can you fear for main characters?. I mean the first episode this season was epic and how many shows has ever left me with a very unsettling feeling afterwards - NONE that I can think of. But a few episodes on this show does. I thought this finale episode was well paced and as many times before on this show - you almost know that when a character gets a lot of time on an episode on this show they are in trouble and Sasha was no exception. I'm looking forward to season 8!

Mechanic: Resurrection (2016)

Great ACTION movie!

I don't get the bad reviews for this movie. I expected an action movie and that was exactly what I got. I wasn't bored for one second. Sure the plot isn't complex by any means but how often are action movies not simple. I'm not that big a fan of Statham but both the Mechanics movies are pretty good. The stunts are pretty amazing - are some of them exaggerated - sure but not more than other action movies. I also easy rate this movie amongst Jessica Alba's best movies and of course she's very easy on the eyes but I think she did a pretty good job in this movie. So if you want to be entertained see this movie! So bring on the third installment in this franchise - I'll watch it for sure.

The Wire (2002–2008)

Way to high rating!!

I don't get how this series gets such a high rating. I think it's pretty boring, the acting not that great. I'm now watching season 4 and I'm still waiting for the series to take off in every way. Unfortunately I don't think it's happening. HBO have made several shows that's better than this: The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Band of Brothers etc. And there are many other series which should be considered before watching this one! If the rating were around 7.0 it would make more sense. I do think though The Wire gets better as the show progresses. The problem is the hype around the show makes your expectations too high and maybe that makes my disappointment so much worse.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

The worst superhero movie I've ever seen!!!

This is the worst superhero movie I've ever seen. BAD acting, stupid story!! Me and 3 of my friends agreed on this. The only thing that was positive was the fact, that Emma Stone's character died in the end because that was really, really bad acting. I'll give Emma Stone the benefit of the doubt, that her character just was meant to be played that way - really annoying. And Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn/the green goblin was poor casting. But all around inferior acting compared to the 3 movies with Tobey Maguire. When it comes to the story the two new movies doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Hopefully the cast, director, writers move on to different things now.
