Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
It's No Fury Road...
But I love it in a way for it being itself. Mad Max: Fury Road was the first Mad Max movie I've seen and is to this day my favorite action movie of all time. In fact, I hold Fury Road dear because of my father. I would've loved to have seen this movie with him, but sadly he's no longer here. It was because of him I got into the Wasteland. If he were here, he would've enjoyed this movie.
I love this movie, but not as much as I love Fury Road. Really, I would be giving this a 7.5, but we do that here so according to IMDb, it's an 8. I could give this movie a 7, but I enjoyed it more than the people I saw this movie with. In reality, it's a 7.5 for me.
As for the movie itself, it felt like it was just a movie with two factions in a battle for the citadel and control over the Wasteland, with Furiosa caught in the middle of it. She went from one faction to another, and as we all know, stayed with Immortan Joe until she wanted freedom for herself and the other women she befriended while she was there. It didn't really feel like Furiosa was the focus for the first half of the movie.
The action sequences were great, but compared to Fury Road's, they didn't all bring me to the edge of my seat, but that's not to say that there are some that didn't. One in particular was the sequence with The War Rig when Furiosa and Jack were attacked. That was well shot.
As for the CGI, I miss it when movies didn't make the CGI so obvious and made it look more realistic. You can tell from the backgrounds easily, especially at the nighttime.
Otherwise, the characters were all well done.
Echo (2023)
I wanted to... Man I wanted to like it...
As a CODA, a child who lived with deaf parents and a deaf older sister, I was glad to see a hero story about a deaf character. I wanted to like this, but my god, the story was so boring I was debating if I wanted to continue after two episodes. And I did. Let me tell you, it doesn't change. The story isn't written where there are moments that bring you to the edge of your seat. The action sequences weren't particularly exciting either.
I was looking forward to the end fight as i felt the build up to it was getting intense. It wasn't. It just had Maya forgiving Fisk and letting him go. He wasn't arrested. That gun fight between Henry and Zane, what the hell was that? That wasn't a gun fight. No one was at risk. In fact, NONE of her family members were at risk until the last ten minutes. Her cousin and Henry were held hostage in a roller rink sure, but even that was nothing.
At the end credits scene, he's on his private jet watching a newscast about an election; giving him an idea. I love Vincent's portrayal of Fisk, but this wasn't the portrayal we know and love. He was supposed to be ruthless, but he wasn't. He showed too much mercy holding Maya's grandmother and cousin hostage at the end, giving Maya time to win.
I'm giving it a 4/10 because I liked the cast, but their talents were wasted.
Twisted Metal (2023)
A Messed Up Ride
And an entertaining one at that. By messed up, I mean fun. I enjoyed just about every character, especially Sweet Tooth. I never played the games, but I would got excited every time he was on screen. Agent Stone and his entire force were honestly the most forgettable parts for me. I am really hoping for a season 2 so we can get that tournament. I really can't say anything more without spoiling anything and I really don't want to.
Oh, if you do decide to watch all the way through; don't make the same mistake I did and leave during the credits of the last episode. There is a end credits scene. Have fun!
White Noise (2022)
There Are Books That Deserve To Be Movies and There Are Others That Should Remain Only As A Book
...this is one of the ones that should've just remained as a book. I rarely do reviews on here, but my god I just had to share this. I struggled whether to give this movie a one star review or two star but screw it, it is a one star from me. The first part was incredibly boring and made all the main characters sound so boring. The second part is a bit better but it's not redeemable.
As other reviews have stated, everyone is talking over each other and not listening to each other. Do we really need to have a movie like that nowadays? It's literally how the United States is now but we don't need it in the movies.
Does it have a message? Everyone fears death, but isn't that just about every movie, except movies portray it better? They have every right to act in a frenzy, but it was done in such an annoying way. Everything about this gave me a headache.
I watch things that have a intriguing story and I thought this would be one of them. I was wrong...
Moon Knight (2022)
The Most Entertained I've Been From a Marvel series
I've been enjoyed multiple Marvel movies, but this has got to be the most entertaining Marvel series I've seen. Sure, it's weird, but it's entertaining. The fact that two different identities (one being an Avatar for an Egyptian God) makes it fun. It's not just that, it's how the actors/actresses portray these characters. Its really enjoyable.
Clifford the Big Red Dog (2021)
Holy Sheep! That's a Big (Red) Dog
Yes, yes, yes...I am aware it's based off a kids story but I'm a dog person who is an adult. I only watched this movie for Clifford alone (yes, I was only interested in it due to a giant CGI red dog) . It's a cute kid's movie that's very lighthearted and has it's funny moments. The purpose of this movie is to respect each other, no matter how different they are. Also, a dog isn't a woman's or man's best friend...
Dogs are a human's best friend.
Reminiscence (2021)
Emotionless
I felt wide away when I started watching this movie. Then I found myself feeling tired when this movie started. There's really no emotion except for obsession; a bland character obsessed with a woman and other bland characters just there to get. To keep myself awake, I started playing with my dog.
Death to 2020 (2020)
What Is Wrong With You People??
I didn't know I needed this in my life. This was too funny. I found myself laughing at just about every funny line that was said. Lisa Kudrow was great as she represented what I assume is meant to be Republicans. Laurence Fishbourne had some funny lines as the Narrator like when he called Trump a colored man on the 2020 ballot. The English girl was was too funny when she was assuming the Election was a game show.
Yes, I know this is a mockumentary.
Cursed (2020)
A Game of Swords
That really sums it up. They're not fighting for a Throne or the control of an entire kingdom. It's about a sword that gets the name Excalibur. The writing is not the best nor is the CGI. I did find myself rolling my eyes at the dialogue and questioning their choices. My Dad and I questioned their choices, not just the characters, but what the writers and visual effects decided. Were those transition sequences necessary? Why did they feel the need to use them?
I could give this show a 5 but it was just a little bit more entertaining for me. A guilty pleasure one would call it.

Oh COME ON!!!
This show is great and not what I expected but come on!!! I need more!!! I don't usually do single episode reviews but I need to do one for this season finale. Hell, I haven't posted a review on IMDb in a while.
So Nathan decided to go to 2Gigs because he broke up with his girlfriend, Ingrid. Nora and Nathan finally reveal their true feelings to each other. Nathan only pretended not to remember Nora but felt embarrassed in doing so. While talking to Nathan after he had downgraded to 2Gigs, a man (who I suppose is involved with sabotaging Nathan's car) trues to kill Nora. Nathan decides to use up his gigs to help Nora escape. As soon as Nora was back safe in her own home, Nathan was running very low on Gigs for the month.
Realizing he no longer can talk, she decides to go on a trip with Byron. Then the ending came, a surprise ending I didn't even think would happen this soon. Ingrid arrives but not through VR... she killed herself just to be with him!!! HOW??? I need more. Also, I don't trust that car Nora and Byron went into. What if that one was sabotaged as well...?
This show is certainly a surprise. The trailers may have made it look bad but if you gave it a shot, you just might like it.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
Just...Good
It was just a good movie. It wasn't bad. It wasn't mediocre. It was just good, that's why I see a 7 for this movie. Why? Let's start from the beginning of the movie, with the dragon. The beginning of the movie started off excellently, where the second movie left off with the Dragon heading to Lake Town. We see the citizens of lake town fleeing for their lives as they see the Dragon. Of course, some citizens didn't make it out alive. We see Bard's children heading out with Tauriel and the dwarfs, but are worried as to where their father is. Their father was still imprisoned, but escaped by sending a rope out the window, and having the so-called king of Lake Town getting trapped, but surviving being in that rope. He climbs atop a tower and shoots arrows at Smaug. He figures out he is immune to those arrows. His son decides to do something dangerous and goes to help him. With him, he has a metal arrow. Bard shoots it and it hits the dragon in the weak spot. This is the part I find a bit over-dramatic; his death. Really? THAT'S how a dragon is going to die in this movie? REALLY?? Come on, that was just over-dramatic. He falls on top of the so-called king of Lake Town, but his death. I can't get over that enough.
Other than that, there were some cheesy elements throughout. Kill trying to get Tauriel to go with them. Tauriel being banished from her home. OH! and Alfred being a big baby. HE was "assistant" to the ruler of Lake Town??? HAH!! What a coward. The fight scenes were definitely the best part. There were also some heartfelt moments in there. The last movie has a good setup for The Lord of the Rings, I guess it just wasn't what I was really expecting.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
This is the VERY First Spiderman Comic Book.
My did and I went to go see this yesterday and we both liked it. Although I have never heard of the lizard before this movie even came out. But, I also didn't know that Uncle Ben was going to be shot in this one either. That was a shock. I think I might have heard about Gwen Stacy. Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's love interest before Mary Jane came along. The movie was good.
The story was darker than the last three Spiderman movies earlier on in the century. But, I feel that this was better. I do hope that there will be some more movies about this Spiderman in the near future. I just hope it won't be like the past three.
8/10
The Legend of Korra (2012)
Our New Avatar
We have found our new Avatar!!! 70 years after Aang died came a new new Avatar named Korra. Korra is no average teenager, she's the next Avatar. But, there is one more skill she needs learn. That skill is airbending.
Korra already knows Earth, Fire, and Water. All she needs to train is her Airbending. Her trainer is Aang's son, Tenzin. Tenzin gets very serious while training Korra. But, airbending isn't the only thing that is on Korra's mind. There is a villain in Republic City, Amon.
No one knows who Amon really is. No one knows who's behind that mask. But the only thing that Korra, Tenzin, Bolin, and Mako know about Amon, is that he wants to take away bending.... For good...
Can they stop Amon in time to save the future of bending? Tune in to find out!!!
In my opinion, I feel that this show is the only show on Nickelodeon that actually has a story to it.
The Hunger Games (2012)
Good enough...
I have read the book and these are nothing alike. But, I did enjoy it. It was good enough. The Hunger Games follows two kids from the twelfth district. They (one volunteered) were chosen to participate in some game they host every year called "The Hunger Games".
The Hunger Games is where twelve boys and girls. One by and girl from each district. There are 24 kids in total, but only ONE can be left standing. They changed the rules to make it so both people from the same district could win towards the end, but then they changed to one. Then, they made so both kids from District 12 would win.
The reason for that was Young Love.
Their trainer wanted them both to win, but President Snow didn't want that to happen. He didn't like District 12 from the looks of it. he was mad that they both won.
I find it interesting that the people in control of the Hunger Games kept adding more things in the arena. I find it sad that 23 kids have to die, leaving only one winner in the beginning.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011)
After 10 LONG years, The Wizard has finally defeated Voldemort!
One word: WOW!!!
I saw the midnight screening (July 14) with my sister and we were quite thrilled with the movie.
SPOILER: This movie was about a famous wizard named Harry Potter. He survived when Voldemort killed him. According to someone, he was known to Voldemort "The Horcrux that Voldemort Never Meant to Create". Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, finished looking for the Horcrux in this movie. There was only one in the Hogwarts castle.
What was the most heartfelt moment of this movie was when Harry looked into the Pensieve. He took a tear from Snape and put it in the Pensieve. He learned the truth about Snape. He saw everything that happened that night when his parents were killed.
Finally, Harry learned what the final Horcrux was. It was... Eh, You'll see for yourself.
I really recommend this movie. This is a wonderful ending for the Harry Potter Series. J.K Rowling, you should be proud of how your Harry Potter series became very popular.
Very well done!!!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
Jack and Pirates have done it again!
I have to say, this movie was amazingly the best Pirates movie in this franchise. I just came back from it and I was literally biting on my straw towards the end. The acting was good and the plot continued from where the 3rd movie had left off. I wasn't anxiously wanting to see this movie, but I did want to see it and I'm glad that I did. It seems to me that Jack Sparrow got smarter in the beginning.
It began with him finding out that someone was impersonating him. In the bar scene, he finally found out who it was. It was his old love Angelica (Cruz). The last few lines at the end of last conversation between Jack and Angelica was something that I wasn't expecting to hear This movie had a lot of action in it. The final battle scene was thrilling.
In my opinion, this movie did just fine without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly. However, Johnny Depp is my favorite actor, so this movie will be horrible without him and Geoffrey Rush. Those two are my favorite pirates.
So I give it a.... 10/10!!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
This Movie was one of my most anxiously waited movies... and I'm glad it was worth it
I have been waiting to see this movie for awhile and I was counting down the days until it came out. I wanted to see it the first weekend it came out and glad that I did. It had A lot, and I mean A lot, of scary scenes. If a little child wanted to see this, they should definitely have an older sibling or a parent to go with them.
Both me and my dad wanted to see more of the movie. I could tell where the movie would end. It could've used more story in this part, but I still liked the movie though. I wish Nevel had been in this movie more. He only had one line though. After one part in the movie, I told my dad that I was glad that we weren't watching it in 3D. It would've been a lot more scarier in 3D. That scary part my heart jumped at was at a snake part. Talk about CREEPY!!! My favorite part was when Harry and his friends, Hermione and Ron, drank some polyjuice potion and then disguised themselves as people who worked in the Ministry of Magic. It was hilarious! So I really would recommend this movie to anyone who likes Harry Potter. And remember, if little kids want to see this movie, make sure an older person goes with them.
