Taken 2 (2012)

There - I just gave you probably 85% of the dialogue in the script. I know that foreign baddies in movies usually don't have much depth but the villain in this flick is one of the most one-note characters I can recall in a long time
And the big "mirror image" standoff at the end? It helps to know who the other guy is first before you can get invested
Finally, take your seizure medication before you watch any fight scenes.
Modern Family: The Musical Man (2011)
We love the F word
The van wrap was an amazing joke, but the musical number was a cherry on top.
It was good to see a realistic depiction of how brothers demonstrate their love for each other - we may not talk or text for weeks, or know the details of their lives..... but we do have an unbreakable bond. We'll also rabbit punch them when provided the opportunity.
It was good to see Luke get some shine this episode, and Alex has some of the best one-liners of the show.
The Claire stuff was a little sad but also true to form for her character - as we get older we do wonder if our best days are behind us or not.
Great episode!
Friends: The One with Phoebe's Wedding (2004)
Monica is awful
Monica's character has been steadily going downhill for the past few seasons but she hits peak "STFU" in this one.
Like, there's no way Phoebe would be friends with her after this.
Friends: The One Where Phoebe Hates PBS (1998)
The One Where the Gellars Become Insufferable
I'm not sure why the writers took..... whatever this direction is with Ross but good heavens the whining version of David Schwimmer's character is awful. This entire season, Ross is understandably heartbroken.... but this was a poor character choice to show it.
And don't get me started on Monica. Chandler was (in his own goofy way) trying to be happy and she immediately stomps him down (which will become custom going forward).
The Polar Express (2004)
I don't think they know what "believe" means
This movie is visually very good - and some parts are very memorable. But I cannot get over the dominant theme of believing in the magic of Christmas.
SPOILERS TO FOLLOW:
The Hero Boy doesn't believe in Santa anymore - even though he's on a magic train. To the North Pole. With elves. And presents. And reindeer.
Despite all this he doesn't believe until he sees Santa in the flesh. Then suddenly he's reinvigorated with the spirit of Christmas.
This isn't belief. This is being spoon fed evidence until you change your mind. Belief means thinking something is true without evidence - and this ain't it.
Parks and Recreation: New Beginnings (2014)
Good episode....except for Ann and Chris
I love this series, and this is overall a good episode - except for the Ann and Chris storyline.
Their continued "let's get married! Let's NOT get married! Oh, now let's get married!" exchange went screaming past ridiculous and into grating and annoying. I know it was supposed to make the characters likeable but pregnant Ann has been a disaster and this storyline only made things worse.
The Shield (2002)
Best Cop Show on TV
This is easily the best show on television concerning law enforcement. Yes, it is over the top in some regards, but the character development and plots are better than anything that has been put on the air in quite some time.
Michael Chiklis is outstanding as Detective Vic Mackey, who is one of the most complicated characters ever conceived - is he a bad guy? A good guy? No one can really tell, and that's what makes this show great.
It's not always about good guys catching bad guys. In the real world, sometimes the bad guys win - and The Shield does a fabulous job of illustrating this fact. The show is award-winning, and deserves every accolade it receives. When it goes off the air, the void will be hard to fill. Simply put, this is one of the best shows on TV right now.
