Lessons in Chemistry (2023)
Nothing I don't like about this show
There is literally nothing I don't like about this show. And unlike most other times, I'm now def going to read the book too because I understand the storytelling is quite different there.
The cast is selected with absolute perfection and everything from the visuals/style to the soundscape of the show has been expertly arranged.
I am a scientist myself (biologist not a chemist) and seeing more scientists who are not the evil geniuses or marvel antiheroes is quite refreshing and moving. I'm also geeking out quite a bit at understanding the vernacular.
We need more engaging shows with science main characters!
Filth (2013)
Anything but a comedy
This is one dark movie. It's also beautifully told, esp if you pass the first half hour. James McAvoy is absolutely brilliant! ♥ Might need some English subs tbh 😇
Se7en (1995)
Exceptional movie
The story is written perfectly. In fact, so perfectly, that neither Gwyneth Paltrow nor even Brad Pitt's bad acting can ruin it a single bit!
Also, watching it in 2022, I felt oddly nostalgic to the endless hours of research in the library. I'm sure I would've felt differently if I had to do it myself back then 😜
Unrelated (2007)
Don't waste your time
This movie is a complete waste of time. Even the title has nothing to do with the movie itself... May be that was it unrelated - to anything that goes on in the movie. It gets any stars at all cause of the nice location and the scandal Tom Hiddleston's character had with his dad... But barely.
The Sound of Music (1965)
A beautiful movie
As much as I'm not into musicals, this movie is absolutely lovely to watch!
