How bad can it get? As bad as this was...
29 June 2023
What a tragedy that this movie had to be made by Mani... What was bad about it?

Screenplay, Direction, Editing, Story ,action, music... Can keep going...

This is just a bunch of disjointed scenes cobbled together with jarring editing that is jumpy without continuity... The whole scene of Karigalan getting killed dragged out just to accommodate Mani's 'Love' narrative was cringe worthy.

With such a big start cast, none of them were used to showcase any potential... The dialogue delivery was weak, never building any connection with the story or the character.

The ending was so abrupt as if to tell... Ok I've gone on for far too long let me hurry things up... Of they're was a disappointment scale, I would have given it 9... Barring some visuals, such a huge let down. I have given it 1, just for the visuals.... I'm sure I won't have this in my memory after a couple of weeks.... Better that way.

Not seen such a bad movie in a very long time
23 January 2023
Knowing nothing about this movie, just stumbled upon as I was scrolling on Amazon Prime - Had AK and the name seemed interesting and hence started watching.... Boy this movie is bad right from the outset.... Not sure how this was made, looks like no one was interested to act, the editing was abysmal! CGI appalling, storyline disjointed, such a train wreck this movie was!

You've an atheist seeing the bridge and the first thing he says OMG!! C'mon basic editing guys!!!.... AK's wife was so poor in her skills, it was annoying.

The last few minutes was absolutely brain-dead in terms of logic and the plastic Sanjeevini!! Please guys.....

AK agreeing to do such a storyline.... My brain's dead....

IMDB, is there a way to give this negative stars?

Went in for the hype, came out with GOOSEBUMPS
12 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After hearing so much about this movie, went in even without watching the trailer, but from the very beginning of the movie, boy was I glued to the screen!

Loved the way the complex character of Shiva was portrayed.... The way he is constantly running away from his destiny and taking refuge in the 'material luxuries' (aka. Drink, waste away time etc.).

The movie, do subtly and brilliantly captures the exploration of innocence by the rich and powerful! The different paths to the same end (DRFO and Shiva), the complexity and diversity of culture.... Just WOW!

When the climax approached, I was left speechless! Had tears in my eyes and had my hands folded(completely unknowningly). I drive back with my wife after a late night show here in Australia and was a good 45 min drive and we both didn't utter a word!

I was still in a state of trance the whole of next day!!!

If this doesn't deserve an Oscar.... Then not sure what else does....

When will Bollywood stop dramatizing everything
18 July 2022
Bollywood and the art of succinct story telling...I think this will be an eternal oxymoron!

A movie that could have been so powerful with half the running time, got dragged along with melodrama and some pretty average acting and story telling.....

Very disappointed....

Boring, cliched and down right abysmal
2 March 2022
It started out with not so bad production value atleast in Season 1, Season 2 is a complete train wreck!!

Poor storyline, unnecessary trust to characters (Eritrea-Lyria??? Why)... The visual effects by the time we get to the end was cartoonish.... God it was bad....

Not sure who to hate more...
15 February 2022
I stumbled upon this without any background as it was no. 1 here in Australia, but honestly couldn't get past the first 45 min of this series..... Not sure who I hate more....

A career obsessed journalist who cares nothing about her own pregnancy or family...

Or a Con Artist with an attitude....

If you want to watch it....do it only for the individual performances and nothing else
25 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After the hype I heard about this, finally sat down to watch it, my 1st disappointment started with the extremely weak story-line when the protagonist is convinced being a doctor that it is ok to kill a seemingly nice human in order to save his daughter and the naivety with which this has been handled. After that as soon as the message for the 2nd murder came, it was clear to me that it had shades of Seven and Anniyan (Tamil) and from then on the plot was just going through motions with the characters putting up good individual performances.

The basic question I've is if a personality is supposed to protect a weaker personality, asking the weaker personality to commit these crimes seems very counter intuitive??

All in all, this was Anniyan to me without the AR Rahman background score, dragged out for a very long 12 episodes.

Lots of worthy ways to spend your Precious time than on this

Poor acting (most parts), very poor storyline with so many loose ends, just a collection of the worst possible instances in cricket making it extremely bad. I was hoping things would become better, but didn't, finished as I had started, no way going near season 2.

To dragged out to my liking
22 July 2019
I'm just in season 1 and feeling that it has been to dragged out already. I think the main plot moves too slowly to my liking with to many side plots. I'm in episode 6 and I'm telling to myself " I get the grief, I get the paranoia, get the emotions but please move on. For the sake of completion, I might finish this season and no more.

The big plus is definitely the performances, specially all the child artists.... Wonderful job!!

Shankar could have invested this money in a VFX the park and retired with a lifelong income

I slept half way through with my friend having to wake me up 😂😂

Silly storyline, broken editing and even Superstar's performance couldn't save this. If you want to be entertained with some mindless VFX, give it a try.... Else Dave some money and time on this and give it a miss.

Watch it for the chemistry, watch it for the emotions
5 October 2018
Being a huge Sethupathi-Trisha fan, undoubtedly this was a hugely anticipated movie for me. But taking that bias away, the performers delivered makes you feel the pain, those moments of laughter, nostalgia come pouring out.

As audience you can live through the characters' emotions.... Hats off to the director to have handled the subject in a mature way. With just one show a day here in Australia,vI watched a show that ended at 11:40 PM....It is now 6 AM and I couldn't shut my eyes for a second as the emotions keep flooding back.

Astounding penances of a relatively simple concept that is delicately handled and masterfully delivered!

A non-misser for anyone!
