Sherazade: The Untold Stories (2017)
Exciting and fun
A good wholesome animation overall. Fun to watch with the family. The animation quality is top notch and the storyline gripping. Wish there were more seasons.
The Lie (2018)
Could win the Oscar for implausibility
A load of rubbish. From the beginning it's one unrealistic thing after another. The parents act in unbelievably stupid ways. The girl acts in unbelievably stupid ways. That's it.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
No hay segunda oportunidad de vida
Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara No hay segunda oportunidad de vida
First of all it was refreshing to see a modern title written in Urdu too. Though I would it was there in Spanish (the second line of this 'review')as well. Next came the rather banal opening 20 minutes which thankfully ended as the maties moved on to their Iberian itinerary. Was my first movie starring Fahan Akhtar and this chap sure knows how to make his dialogues deliver the dose a chemistry among 3 old friends needs to keep the discriminating (not me!) engrossed. Katrina Kaif riding a bullet (or was it a Harley?) must have been the BDSM male fantasy the community probably deserves now. Spain looked good and more so the Senoras and the Senoritas. (The land probably could sure use some desi tourism being in debt and all (!) )
Zindagi indeed milegi na dobara be there or be there not a Nirvana! Rating : 7/10
Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends (2004)
Escapes Away !
Welcome to Sunny Patch. Play dodge ball with dewdrops, soccer berry with, well a soccer berry, smash dandelion seeds, celebrate your hatchdays, befriend frogs, go on websurfing or parachute with leaves. Jaunty bugs, nerdy bugs, gluttonous bugs, self centered bugs, considerate bugs, even stinky bugs, you got 'em all. A place where you do follow the rules of the food chain, well wellnigh all of them. So while spiders are vegetarians, you still gotta be wary of the snakes, blue jays and frogs. A place that's so exotic, escapist, and err... so fa'bug'ous! (excuse the lousy malapropism) A place where you could make friends with a cockroach who lived in a city garbage can.
The graphics are just perfect, neither too simple to make grown ups feel silly watching it, nor too highly resolved to strip the cuteness away.
