Chhapaak (2020)
Do yourself a favor and watch this movie.
Incredible powerful movie. I held back my tears at so many points. I was very moved because it can actually happen to any of us because people out there are sick and cruel.
The only problematic part of this movie are it's non viewers.
These people in the reviews are giving this 1 star and saying the direction was bad or the acting was bad and it is baffling. They are following the idiotic boycott movement as if it does anything. Deepika already got her check. She is fine and rich. Who you are hurting are all the acid survivors and saying their stories aren't good enough or boring or needed. The direction was amazing. Meghna did a great job of having shock value and having a soul to the movie. Deepika couldn't move her face but I could feel every emotion. I love that she learned to smile like Laxhmi.
Please go and support this movie. Support Laxmi and her story and survivors like her and bring awareness to our children. So many adults on here are acting like children so god help us all.
Time Trap (2017)
It took two directors to make this bad movie
I'm surprised by so many high rated reviews but this movie left me disappointed. The story was different and it had potential but the execution wasn't great at all. At times the movie lacked basic logic. They could've solved so many of the problems by using a bit of common sense. The end made no sense and it was all strange and confusing. I get it is a b movie but damn some acting was really bad. Like the actress who played Jackie, girl, how did you get cast lol. Overall, I say pass unless you have nothing to do and really like b movies.
Pataakha (2018)
I wanted to love it but it's just so bad
I'm not sure if I saw the same movie as the rest of the 10/10 but I'm not sure how it got this rating. One great thing about this movie is the acting between the two main heroines. They are amazing. But the good ends there. The story is really unbelievable, are sisters this petty? Maybe I couldn't relate since I never had a sister but I'm gonna thank god for that. The conflict lasts throughout the movie and then the last 5 minutes it's resolved....? I really appreciate Bollywood making woman centric movies but this wasn't the script. It was extremely boring. I barely made it to the end and based on the reviews I thought it was going to be amazing. I say save yourself the headache.
Kalank (2019)
Ignore the biased reviews. It's not that bad.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Kalank is the cinematography and the acting. It was so beautifully shot and the sets were gorgeous. It was very grandeur. And the acting by everyone was really well done. I didn't expect Varun to be so good but he was. Everyone was. Now the story isn't the best out there but it's not terrible. It made logical sense but there were some choices that I disagree with especially in the end. It is a slow paced movie but I was intrigued all throughout. I felt the movie was more about the people than the partition and it was a side thought even tho it's supposed to be a love story during the partition. The partition only came to center stage when a conflict needed to arise. The story could've been better. But go watch it for the direction and the imagery on screen and the amazing songs. Arijit and Sherya killed it like always. I give it a solid 7/10.
Zero (2018)
Zero is far from being a zero.
After a lot of people telling me it's bad and a flop I refused to believe that without seeing it first. The movie is nowhere near perfect but it's so good. Shahrukh Khan's performance is incredible as always. The production value of the movie is amazing. The way it was shot was beautiful and the Jab Tak song was gorgeous. The story could be better and there were things that seemed a little too impossible but it's a fictional movie in the end. I love SRK and I am extremely biased but I think this movie is worth the watch. It's funny and sweet and if you dont take it too seriously than very entertaining. It's not your typical hero heroine villain movie. I loved all the guest appreances by some great actresses! The dude with the one eye and the flashlight made me laugh everytime he was onscreen. I love SRK for doing new things and trying new scripts.
Missing (2018)
A good attempt
The movie seems like it's comprised of many other similar movies mashed together. They try to have twists and turns and you're always questioning and predicting what would happen. It was a very good attempt and it had me close to the edge of my seat. Acting was good by Tabu and Manoj but the inspector was a little over. It's not a perfect movie but it's good enough. Worth the watch.
Mulk (2018)
Really well done
I hope movies like this actually make an impact that one persons actions do not carry on to a whole group of people. Hate is taught and i really like that the judge said to monitor your kids make sure you know who and what they are interacting with. I usually don't like Taapsee's performances but her acting in this was very very good. She gave a powerful performance and really drove the movie.
F2: Fun and Frustration (2019)
Funny but gave me frustration
I want to start by saying that the movie has its funny moments in the first half and I laughed until my stomach hurt but then in the second half everything goes downhill. The storyline lacks logic. The climax and the "lesson" taught had nothing to do with the rest of the movie. Both husband and wife were wrong that's all I'm gonna say. The acting. My god. Venky was his usual self and varun did the telangana accent well. But there was so much over acting that it was painful to watch. Tamannah was kinda sub par but the other girl Muhreen was just awful. Everytime she did her signature line I cringed. Film had no meaning. After watching it, it made me feel like not marrying ever lol. The song were so bad!!! Almost all mass or item songs like not one good song and the dancing was not appropriate for children or my poor eyeballs. All in all film didn't make much sense but it was funny. Sometimes.
Gamyam (2008)
Simply Beautiful.
Such a gem. I loved watching this movie and it was different from other Telugu movies that were out at the time. It was funny, emotional and the friendship between the two male characters was beautiful to watch. I have to give a huge applause to Allari Naresh. He did great justice to an free and flamboyant character like Galli Senu. Also I commend Naresh's commitment to being a professional no matter what the situation was. Sharwanand and Kamalinee were also really good. I loved the development of Sharwanand's character. All in all give it a chance. You will love it. I watched this movie so many times and never got tired of watching it.
Manam (2014)
A beautiful story
I loved it. It wasn't the same old thing that Tollywood is now releasing. There were no over dramatic fights or cheesy jokes that weren't funny at all. It a clean cut beautiful story that will melt your heart. I loved the family aspect of this movie. The importance of family and communication and understanding. Nagajurna's character "Bittu" was downright adorable. How he yearns for his mom and dad brought tears to my eyes and his love with Sherya was by far the cutest thing ever. The acting was really well done. I have to give props to Sherya, she really killed it. I felt that Chaitanya's acting was a bit dramatic, specially when he was in his collage student phase. All in all, I really really enjoyed this movie. There were so many moments when I was just smiling like an idiot and just being happy with the movie. This is by far the best movie I have seen a while from Tollywood and I hope they keep making more like this.
Divergent (2014)
One Of The Best Book-To-Movie Adaptations Yet!
I don't know what the other reviewers went and saw but as a MAJOR fan of the books I can say that Divergent was AMAZING. As the title states, it was the best book-to-movie adaptations yet. It was so accurate and was so honest to the books that it just blew my mind. Ever scene was so true to the books that it amazed me. Of course they had to cut out a few minor scenes for the length but I have never been so proud and happy. It was a really long movie like about 2 hours and 30 minutes give or take and I'm glad it was so long because they had a chance to include everything. The acting was great. Shailene Woodley was pretty great, she really understood Tris and Theo James and her chemistry was really beautiful. I really really liked the movie and I want to go see it again. I am so very impressed and I really look forward to Insurgent.
Vampire Academy (2014)
I don't really know how I feel about it.
As the title says I'm torn. As a major fan of the books I was disappointed with the changes. I know that it can't be exactly like the book but there were weird changes that really didn't do the movie any good. And it's all the little things that add up in the end that threw me off. I really enjoyed most of the acting. There were pretty spot on except for the actress playing Lissa. Lissa's personality got changed in the script and the movie made it seem like it was all about high school gossip and stuff like that. They didn't really concentrate on Rose and Lissa's deep relationship. And they skipped all the parts were we get to see the vulnerable side of Lissa and Rose. And I felt the movie was way to rushed. Like they just breezed through everything. The connection with Rose and Dimitri was pretty cute. , I felt giddy when they were together. But all in all i liked it. I didn't get the chance to love it like I did the movie. Hopefully the next movie will stick to the books more closely.
