Teen Wolf (2011)
Surprisingly Good Show
Forget the bad reviews you see on here. Some people forget that its a show about teenage werewolves. It's not Shakespeare! That being said, this show had some really fun characters. Really good acting and chemistry between them. (You can tell they are all close in real life) Sytles is hilarious. It is well written. These characters are in on the joke of how ridiculous their lives are. The music is great and the cinematography is outstanding. Storyline can be quite silly but again, you have to take it for what its worth. But all in all, this is a show worth watching. I will watch these shows over the reality dominated airways any day.
Beauty and the Beast (2012)
Wanted to Like this One
Casting, Casting, Casting! I loved Kruek in Smallville so I thought I would give this show a chance. Biggest problem? She could not be more unconvincing as a hot shot NYPD officer and/or detective. My God, the girl is 90 pounds soak and wet and looks like a Disney princess! What were the casting directors thinking? I realize that female law enforcement on TV shows is not realistic and yes they are mostly pretty and so not look as though they can knock down a door with one kick but this one takes it to a whole new level. It is borderline laughable watching her TRY to play tough cop. There is no a spec of believability in it what so ever. How anyone can watch this and take her serious in that role is beyond me. Also, where is the beast in this? He couldn't be more pretty if he tried...lol!
The Tomorrow People (2013)
Boring
First of all, can someone clue these network executives/creators to what passes as a teenager in high school? The lead character Stephen looks WAY to old to pass for a high school student, so much so that I just couldn't take him seriously. He looks to old for college! He was 25 in real life when this series started...what were they thinking. He doesn't even look young for his age! Secondly, in shows such as this, its nice to watch supernatural things unfold. Smallville is a great example of this as we watch Clark come into his powers over time...hence 10 successful seasons. This show lays everything on the table in the pilot, explaining just about everything they can do and what they are all about instead of letting things unfold naturally. And last, I agree with many things I have read on here regarding the characters being one dimensional and the endless boring love triangles. None of them were interesting or likable. And again, they all seem to be too old to playing these "young people" they wanted us to believe. Actor playing Cara (most annoying character in the show) was 27 when the show started and the actor playing her boyfriend was almost 30! It's too bad because I think this could have been a good show in the right hands.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Mac Day (2013)
Awesome
I don't know how anyone could dislike this episode if they truly love the show. It's been on for a very long time now of course they're not going to use the same formula for this many years you have to change up at some point here and there. This episode was a great way to do that. After getting to know these characters for so long now it was so much fun to watch how each of them would react to the same situation. Any opportunity to see the world through their eyes is going to be hilarious.
After all this time we get yet another insight to these crazy jerks! It's not one of the best episodes I've ever seen but it's surely not the worst.
Helix (2014)
Walkie Talkie Anyone???????
I am bewildered so see some of the high ratings for this show. Are you kidding me?
First, I cannot fathom how the CDC is roaming around this huge facility with no communication with one another. At least...a walkie talkie, outdated yes but AT LEAST a walkie talkie for the love of... In what universe does any scientists/CDC/Fireman/Police/FBI etc walk around a dangerous facility with no communication what so ever. (The 2 facility managers where I work have open communication!) Right off that bat, I was yelling at the TV. Secondly, why would scientists become so irate regarding quarantine procedures. I laughed when one asked for a lawyer. THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!. Scientists are trained and educated and certainly prepared for these situations. Third, every CDC worker seems to be not only oblivious to any and all protocols, they knowingly break them consistently...I mean keeping an infected person in your courters?? Really? Then top it off by shooting heroine? Or, why don't we corner an angry infected monkey with no protective gear. Miracle she had no abrasions...no really, its a miracle. I love SyFi and I sometimes get frustrated when I read reviews that are clearly judging shows on every tiny technical mistake. But the childlike logic in this show is truly insulting! I refuse to believe a scientist was consulted on this. I suggest the writers to please at the least watch ReGenesis. They wouldn't even need to consult a scientist...it's all there in that show.
On a side note, I just finished watching the X-Files again in celebration of the 20yr reunion and when I saw the black oil in this show, I about fell off my couch laughing!
