I won't give anything away about the story or any spoilers, but this smells like a cheap Hallmark Channel movie. Weak story, weak script, mostly unknown actors and weak acting, from everyone in the movie, and cheap production values. Is Netflix getting this desperate for content? Why oh why does Netflix come up with this trash. To stamp this a Netflix Original is embarrassing for Netflix. The most expensive thing about this movie is theta it is in Dolby Vision with Dolby ATMOS sound. Save yourself some time and pick something else, use the Netflix random option to pick something that will likely be something better.

A decent story and plot hurt by weak script and acting. Lead character is too irrational and just acts stupid and obnoxious too many times. This could have been better if they shortened it up and tightened up the cataract era and script.

If you are expecting a sci-fi and/or action series move on. This is a slow moving series spending all its time building character stories and interactions. I don't get the appeal and wish I had bailed after 2 episodes, but kept hoping it would pick up or morph into something to keep me interested.

They took a good potential remake and just put in a bunch of bloody violence as I guess that is what the feel is needed today to push a movie. Visually the movie looked odd at times as if you could tell some of the scenes were shot on a movie set vs. Truly being outdoors. I had wanted to love this movie when I heard they we remaking it, but I would honestly rather watch the original, even in its grainy, non-HDR and lack of hi-Rez audio soundtrack.

It seems like they built the storyline around how to bring Chris Pine back. Fairly lame storyline even for a superhero movie. Too much filler about Dianna and Chris Pine, total waste of screen time. Not sure how the DC franchises seem to be hit and miss and Marvel is very consistent at banging them out of the park. Also for such a large budget much of Dianna's huge jumps and leaps look to CGI fake and not scaled well. Thank you HBO as I would traditionally wait for the UHD disc and buy that to watch this, but now I can save $30ish and pass on this disc release.

I get it, they are using the premise of the original TV show, and the update has so much potential, but while season 1 was OK, season 2 is a joke. First the original was campy and corny, but this show is just plan getting stupid. First this family is just one disaster and stupid decision after another. And for such smart people to be constantly out witted by Dr. Smith so easily again is stupid. And season 2 I was expecting them to be more on their own vs. back with everyone else. Why does everything today need to be a deep drama wrapped in something else, in this case loosely wrapped in a Sci-Fi place.

Season 2 starts out decent, but quickly devolves into a mess as totally unrealistic events unroll. Timelines don't match up, and some of the inferred drama seems rather gratuitous. Finally to think a covert team would land a helicopter on the presidential palace of a foreign country to rescue 1 CIA agents, it just stupid. Let's hope season 3 is a little more put together.

The first few seasons were great, but the last few have degraded into a hot mess on nonsense. 1984 takes all the worst pasts of 80s horror movies and tries to weave a story through them. I hope they don't renew this trash, it day has come and gone.

I enjoyed this on so many levels. First it brought clearly into vision the disaster WE caused for the blue collar worker with all the free trade deals over the last few decades without any real rules to assure everyone had a fair chance. We created this monster in China over decades of our policies and then our desire for cheap prices. Clearly the Chinese as well as other cultures are raised with a different set of purpose, duty to ones country and work place even above their own desires. Clearly when you see the interviews with Chinese workers in China that work 12 hour days and get maybe 2 days off a month and then rarely see their families tells you they are in an oppressive society.
This documentary shows you the need for not only OSHA, it then general laws in general to protect not only the worker, but the environment. I am very mixed on the need for organized labor as it has typically taken issues at one extreme of the workplace and moved them to the other extreme. One US lady summed it up well, by stating the union does not help her (a good worker) rather it protects the bad worker. The UAW in my opinion helped ruin the auto jobs in the US. Sure these people were quoted as making $29 / hr for GM and now make $12-$14 which needs to be fixed, but unions need to find a place where they can partner with business, rather than the constant adversarial role they play in the auto industry.
I would love to see a documentary on how well or not the non-unionized plants of Nissan and Toyota are fairing?
This is eye opening, and we need to do something to help train and retrain many blue collar workers whose jobs are being lost to machines or cheaper overseas labor. I am not a Trump fan, but China has taken advantage of us for a long time and will own us all if we don't do something. We need better trade policy that adjusts import duties based on worker conditions so that is a country is supporting unfair human labor practices their goods should be taxed to make the prices equivalent to what they would be had they paid their people a fair wage in good work conditions. And while I am sure many will say "hell yeah" they will also be the same people that will complain when they go to the store to buy clothing or electronics and those priciest increase because of this.
We are a country of Hippocrates that will stay in this cycle until we start recognizing what it will take to improve our own culture.

The series starts out slow, I put the story develops nicely. Most of the acting is decent, but Paula Patton really can't act well. Even the kid actor does a more convincing job of acting than Paula Patton. Too many plot twists are cliche, corny and predictable, but still it was a good binge watch on Netflix.

Season 1 and 2 and campy throw back to 80's horror genre, but season 3 is a mess of soft porn and too much flash backs. I pile rate season 1 and 2 a 7-8, it season 3 is a 1 really too painful, but I needed to see the murderer.
