The Royal Treatment (2022)
Unredeemable
Terrible plot, bizarre accents, inconsistencies across the board, awful attempts at humour.
The Italian American accents are extremely poor, the stereotypes outdated and childish. Nothing of note. 100% skip.
Dick Figures: The Movie (2013)
Congratulations Ed & Zack, it's a hit
Before this movie is watched it's important to remember what it is, namely a film geared at people familiar with the franchise.
By producing the film independently it contains the same humour, animation and production quality as the web series, but in a refreshingly new form. There's some notably well put-together scenes and the film as a whole was generally enjoyable to watch.
Turning a short web cartoon into a film could almost only go wrong but they have managed to pull it off.
It would be great to see where the series goes next for the pair, but let's see how this film rides out for them.
Prom (2011)
Innocent, funny, enjoyable, light-hearted: Prom
It puzzles me as to the low rating for this film. Although painfully innocent, rude or even subtly rude gags completely left out, and remarkably cliché (almost all moments were predicted by people in the room while watching), PROM is a light-hearted, humorous and generally nice tale of the most important moment to teenagers about to leave school.
Most enjoyable was the acting of Lloyd, played by Nicholas Braun, and just how believable and funny the small story lines for him were. Perhaps the less cliché moments of the film were enjoyed by his character.
Overall, a nice, sweet film that would be most enjoyable to people around the age of the characters in the film.
American Pie Presents: The Book of Love (2009)
Like weak coffee; the worst Pie - From a hardcore American Pie Fan
I'm disappointed in this movie.
main reasons:
- First 45 minutes of film can be skipped as the plot only starts strengthening towards the end
- Stupid, unfunny and needlessly sexual 'daydreams' of one of the characters.
- Characters names easily forgotten as barely mentioned.
- Stifler's actor did not understand what it was to be a Stifler. Stiflers are lovable idiots who have obvious flaws, this one was just a complete and utter arse and wasn't even remotely funny. Lines like "how about you blow me in (store name)", and the girls reply "sure", are just absolutely stupid.
- Stifler got raped by a moose.
- The girl's logic for nearly sleeping with Stifler was completely ridiculous, and Bug's character's ability to just accept this equally ridiculous.
- It just wasn't funny.
- Did I mention Stifler. Got raped. By a moose. Then released a song on iTunes named 'Moose D***'.
- Noel's role was pretty stupid and how he ditched his job to repair the book of love.
- Trying to be the same plot as the first film, sucking quite bad.
- The first film allowed you to connect with the characters and actually like them. I did not like any of these stupid characters.
Stupid garbage and a taint to the series.
Pros, and the bits I did like:
- The plot was actually a bit better towards the end
- There were 1 or 2 laughs.
- Seeing the credits roll made me very happy.
- It was nice having a non-American, the British girl.
- At least it had Noel Levenstein.
Unless you're a real American Pie fan, don't bother seeing this.
