Treason (2022)

Ridiculous script and unconvincing characters
12 February 2023
The storyline to this miniseries was simply too far fetched and disjointed and the characters were more believable as children's TV presenters than as MI6 agents. This shared a lot of similarities with the long running BBC series Spooks in the sense that it was quite far fetched but Spooks was at least better written and had better plot twists. Some parts of this were simply ridiculous such as the main character going into his child's school to discuss what it's like to work as a spy (something that simply wouldn't happen). Charlie Chaplain's granddaughter Oona Chaplin put in a good performance. Most of her work is on Spanish TV/film so was surprising to see here make an appearance here.

Pretty dumb...DC scraping the barrel for superheroes
3 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film just seemed like a total parody of superhero films all the way through, a bit like Deadpool but with far fewer laughs. Some of the Suicide squad were just pointless. Of those that make it to the end of the movie (or near the end) there's a Portuguese girl with a wand who can summon thousands of rats with a shiny staff and a nerdy guy with "mother issues" that had no relevance to the story who's only power was throwing explosive dots. Idris Elba did his usual thing of being all hard and from South London and making sure everyone knows he's the dog's cojones (ok I'm getting a bit tired of this, don't know how he ever pulled off playing Nelson Mandela). The only real saving grace was Margot Robbie's unhinged Harley Quin, again proving, unlike Idris, that she can pull off a wide range of roles. Oh, and at the end I found out that that half shark, half human character at the end that seems to be based on Scooby Doo is actually played by Sylvester Stalone.

Very good - almost feels like a 24 spin off
17 February 2021
8 episodes in and I'm really enjoying this. It's basically 24 but with Kroger Sutherland spending more time sat down, think things through and being political/loving while other younger or more vicious characters do all the running around and provide the action.

Painful to watch and awful writing...
19 January 2021
I just wanted to slap Keeley Hawes' painfully neurotic, self-obsessed and annoying character throughout the two episodes I watched of this, the pairing of Nigel Havers and Joanna Lumley is almost like a wooden comedy act and the storyline two episodes in is just a bit ridiculous, especially the post death scene when a revolving door of characters turn up at the house just after the Harry character's death. Watched two episodes and wished someone had buried the script for this in their garden.

Ripped off!
18 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So Nicole and Hugh, much as I love them, go on talk shows and tell us to watch out for the twist - there was no twist...where's the twist Nicole!? Ultimately a mediocre crime drama with laughable meme-material sets featuring rich New Yorkers.

Shame this wasn't made available in Galician
18 December 2020
Very good series, but despite a nearly entirely Galician cast its appalling that this series is available in English and Brazilian Portuguese but not in Galician.

Slightly wooden acting and cliched story
1 October 2020
Three episodes in and I'm not sure if I'll carry on with this-the acting is a bit wooden, the story line is a bit cliche and the sets are quite low budget. The opening music is also like something out of kids TV... it's not the most important thing but it has you laughing at the beginning of each episode which I never found when watching the Handmaiden's Tale!
