Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
golden v
Frustrating, disappointing, maddening even, SW is NOT a popcorn movie, there is a vision to be protected, there is a message to be carried, it is a legacy endured for decades, now it is dead.
*dialogs written by 8 years olds
*childish bad stuff like tie fighters doing "space jumps" and achiving "light speed" are all over and throught the movie
*Rey, being the mostest powerfullest entity in the whole universe, doesn't need a Jedi Master training or a Mentor, she is born that way, trained and tutored in the womb, and such a womb that is, Rey's mother is a supreme being with a golden v
*Rey lifting mountainous rocks with mere thought but can't lift a thin tree trunk to save bb
*SW cannot and should not be a marketing scheme, but is made to be. what's next? Jedi vs Batman movie? that would be a good marketing, wudn't it
and sure, as a "movie" it can't be rated 1, but i rated it as a SW movie, cause it claims to be
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
unfaithful
Lucas founded this. and designed the buildings, outfit, chracters, storyline in necessary and flawless detail. which are known to the world for decades.
yet still as if there are no books, movies, interviews Disney tkaes the tile "Star Wars" and does completely different movie.
Star Wars by definition is a Sci-Fi Fantasy
Now;
Sci-fi means that forces the limits of knowledge
Fantasy means that forces the limits of senses
For Disney;
fantasy means rubbish and sci-fi means fantasy
This movie breaks the hearts of billions, who loyally beared Star Wars through decades and supported the merchandise
Hail Satan? (2019)
nothing's wrong with a different point of view
It's frustrating to watch these free thinking and harmless people, fail after fail in their every attempt to convince people theu are NOT violent
and on the plus side; they all love theatrics, how cool is that
Captive State (2019)
a movie for smart people
This is not a " Mission Impossible" kind of movie, where they first give the plan to the audience. and when the audience learns for sure, they execute the plan and add some effects.
this a movie for the audiences who are able to connects dots and figure out the plan by their wits
good directing good acting a good movie
could be better though
Glass (2019)
NOT a Cap. Marvel or Avengers movie
Critics got the movie wrong,
this is a movie for whom likes to think, a sophisticated entertaintment, NOT for kids
target audience is different from that of Avengers'
definetely worth seeing, if you are a book reader
nothing is over or under done here
just enough action, just enough drama, brilliant writing. brilliant acting.
M.Night's masterpiece.
have i mentioned brilliant writing ?
Crooked House (2017)
surprisingly good movie
Agatha Christie still is the best
the only thing to critisize about the film is the budget
this should have been financed properly
acting is superb, scenery is superb, enough tension enough mystery, great filmography
Shock and Awe (2017)
negative reviews are based on politics not the movie
All actors put effort in this, it also gives a kind message to investigate before making a statement
dont listen to the negative reviews, no doubt they express their political views
and the proof of that lies with in it
negative reviews give this movie 1 star,
1 star? even the last jedi got 7 stars, this is not fair obviously
u have time? then this worths that time
not saying this movie is a must watch just saying it definetly worths the while
The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)
but this's a TV movie
Yeah everyone knows Cate Blanchett is a great actress and any project she participates in end up being amazing, worth to remember and watch several times
Yet somehow this movie manages to make her magic fade away
Jack Black was fine but he was too much of a jack black for this particular movie
Full of cliches (fart/poop jokes !? come on!)
A regular theme park entertaintment at best
Upgrade (2018)
possibly the best at this budget
At last someone got bored of all high budget bad written movies and took the matter on his own hands
this is a very well written, very well directed movie
acting may be mediocre at times but this can be ignored easily cause the actors are really trying
no one will regret watching upgrade,
definitely one of the best in 2018 so far
grats and thanx to anyone who is involved making this movie
Den of Thieves (2018)
one of the best movies of this dissappointing year
If u liked "the heat" in it's time
and "the town" when it hit the theatres
and "usual suspects" which is kinda one of the best
u'll like this one
this year is not going well, movie wise, and "den of thieves" con be the savior so far
enjoy
War Machine (2017)
very well done
don't believe all those negative comments
they have gone to their theatre to see a "war" movie, but this is not shallow head rambo they wanted.
this is self questioning which we all need to embrace, we the people of the world
one of the best performances of Brad Pitt BUT Tilda Swinton and Ben Kingsley were unbelievable good. it was İmpossible to tell they were actors. both Tilda and Ben were there to save the soul of the movie, they didn't act, they were living the events that were being told. Tilda 's was one of the best performances (if not the best) in her carrier.
overall a surprisingly honest movie to teach us how to question our decisions.
the scene chaplin prayed blewed my mind. as it courageously showed how israel's politics became America's religion
after the movie people were saying there happened nothing, no action, no gore, no explosion. they missed all the point. DECİSİONS, FEELİNGS, QUESTİONİNG happened as they should be.
a must see movie for the ones who hasn't lost their thinking ability
The Wall (2017)
don't mind negative comments decent thriller
this is Doug Liman
The Bourne Trilogy were the best yet, and The Edge of Tomorrow was geniously directed, now a sniper thriller and a decent one.
All negative commenters do not know anything about sniping and naturally can't emphatize the plot. should have read a little something about sniping and then go see the movie (if they have a habbit of reading)
Aaron Taylor Johnson is convincing enough and does most of the work, and the sniper, he is an unstoppable force.
the character development, issues that the lead actor suffering, the landscape and spot, the technicality, all very well crafted.
if you like a new experience on battle films go see this one. if you have ever played Ghost Sniper you have to see this one.
Wonder Woman (2017)
reviews are not true, no way this gets 8 stars
The music, smartly composed and gets u in the scene
The landscapes, eye opening and must see all
Picture quality, near perfect
so
what makes this movie awful ?
lets go a little technical;
when filming an action genre, the choreography is designed such a way that all impacts hit the center of the screen. (when you draw two diagonals from opposite corners, the center is the junction in the middle) this way both the action seem satisfying, becomes easy to catch by the audience, more fun.
in this movie the opponents are mostly on the left side of the screen, the impact misses the center, and heroine is mostly far edge right on the screen. why is this filmed this way ? who knows,
but
all heroes and fighters in action genre kick exposing their front side, their chest and their front faces the audience giving an epic movement/pose, in this movie all kicks expose the back side of the heroine so we see no epic pose but cute underwear basically wonder woman is a film about cool chicks wearing minies, and kicking while the camera at their back side. this is a cheap trick to sell action audience, and no one is pleased
gaş gadot is one of the hottest woman on the genre but she is yet not ready to handle leading role
chris pine saves all scenes
David thewlis adds elegance
but these two dudes no matter how hard they try couldn't save the movie
those're why the effort and the music and the landscape and two brilliant actors gone vain
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
perfectly satisfying action movie
don't read bad reviews
it's hard to understand, bad reviews on how the movie is one sided, and Wick kills hundred men, or defeats army single handedly, or he is not related to an actual organisation or agency
This is an action movie, for cinema goers who love action movies, u know guns and chases and fist fights and explosions
So he is expected to overcome lots of dudes. And he will not have a romantic dinner with a goo-goo eyed. He is not expected to fall in love with two woman and try to choose one.
A well paced action movie, with awesome choreography, believable throws, marksmanship.
The movie all in all gives the audience a feeling of an secret organisation, in its own discipline and management, dating back centuries, stricktly controlled, intelligently managed, executed with cold heart.
John Wick world is nothing like u have known or encountered. That world is so well filmed, u can see different branches of the organisation, behaving according to their area of service, professionally but slightly in fantasy borders, just enough to make u relate but enough to blow ur mind.
Consider all other action movies where lead actors cant run or fight.
Then consider this last 10 years how Hollywood lacked and still lacking good plots (maybe good writers) No movie has good written plots. For past 10 years writers cant come with a remarkable work.
This is one of the best written (if not the best) pure action movies.
İm glad i saw this. Recommend without hesitation.
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
mononoke was already wasted in snow white, now this?
please watch GİTS 95 anime
no one has the right to massacre a culture. anime is the Japanese animation culture in which genius directors and writers tell their opinions on a topic or stories of high intellect.
ghost in the shell is one of them. questioning, where a human mind begins where it ends and where ai begins, and whether there is an accountable difference if they both gains self awareness. (telling it as to a 5 year old)
this movie has nothing in it from the original, in intelligence terms.
speaking nothing against miss scarlett, for this movie she is the wrong casting.
trying to sell a movie by making it a half action by casting black widow is a failed attempt. (which by the way, miss scarlett was a casting fail for black widow also, you'll understand me if you have ever seen a Russian female athlete)
big plot mistakes, and some of them even childish (major is a rank in military not a name or surname)
don't want to bother you by more bad comments. just watch 95 anime.
and remember, if you support this kind of fails that massacre the culture, Hollywood will continue on making these for marketing reasons, and akira or spirited away are in line to be wasted.
they have already wasted mononoke in "snow white and the huntsman" taking the spirit of the forest blessing snow white. which was a total disrespect to the original anime.
Colossal (2016)
entertaining ?
Although Hathaway and Sudeikis both did a tremendous job on their characters. None of their characters were likable. Some disturbed people shouting and hitting and getting back to each other, all being some kind of addict. Not likable at all. İ watched this film for high critics it got. But really surprised how boring this was.
This is not a monster movie
Not a comedy
Nothing remarkable happens at all, and has BİG unexplained gaps, i thought the writer was not sober when typing.
if you are a fan of Sudeikis and Hathaway, their mimics and talking voices, u may wanna check it out, other then don't bother to watch and definitely wait for the Bluray don't go to a big screen
want a monster movie ? watch Skull İsland instead
The Nice Guys (2016)
at last an actual nice movie
2016 started with batman vs superman dawn of justice disappointment, then zoolander, then independence day, it was getting pretty frustrating year for any movie fan. the nice guys rushed in and saved the year so far. shane black should at least get an award, maybe not an Oscar, cause there involves some technical stuff i may not know, more like a hero of the year award. you know shane black from kiss kiss bang bang which was a brilliant brilliant movie. in this one he captured the same level ambiance, two mismatch detectives working on an impossible case. fine pace tunning, good friendship and family bonds, excellent story telling and character development throut the movie. a movie for a big screen ? not sure. but a definitely must watch list winner.
Fetih 1453 (2012)
fake kingdom of heaven, lead actor fake aragorn
17 million dollar budget may be the highest number in Turkish film making industry, but this does NOT make it sufficient or even close to sufficient for a film like Fetih. Acting is less then amateur cause they don't have enough payment to hire real actors. Ships and language do Not suit ottoman era. There are enormous historical mistakes even conflicts. Make you wonder whether the director consulted some or any historians. Sword fighting scenes are unbearable. Ulubatlı Hasan has nothing to do with being an ottoman nor a turk. Director tries to make a replica of Aragorn which he fails desperately. Because even if he did it successfully it would again has no value as Ulubatlı Hasan was an ottoman, and Aragorn a fiction hero. His way of fighting does NOT resemble Turkish techniques, he is just moving like a disgustingly cheap samurai with cheaper aragorn hair and beard cut. This director has no clue about the character even about the character's outfit. He could have at least looked into any history book and get a clue.
The worst scene was the illegal sex scene which has no way to happen in Hasan's life.
Visual effects are worse then that are in power rangers, especially the scene where the ship sinks. İt was SO bad that it was the scene i left the theatre. And ships in this movie are not the ships Sultan Mehmet had transported through land which was considered "impossible" at the time. This transportation of battle ships across the landscape İS one of the hardest decisions made by a leader if not the only one, in the history of mankind. And the effect of this decision on the people or on the historians of that time is totally ignored in this movie. Sultan Mehmet the Conquerer, the wise, the loyal, who has great piety is just an arrogant kid in this movie. The charismatic scholar of Islam, great hodja Akşemseddin (his name means "the sun of religion") is again totally ignored.
The scene where two kings meet on horse backs DİD NOT happen in the siege, it's from Ridley Scott's K.O.H. Enough writing about this film, it doesn't worth to write about. Director has just edited scenes from foreign films, so he is not a real director, he is a fake editor. İ gave it 1 out of 10 because there's no scoring system below zero in İMDB.
