Whoever threw this production together just does not get it. Do they really think constant mentions of 'Sarf London' is going to make the coppers look 'street' and reassure viewers they are in safe hands?
All I see are actors and I am not supposed to see actors, I am supposed to see the real people/characters involved in this notorious gold robbery from the early 1980's.
Most of the actors are too posh, have typically deep posh actor voices and do not even attempt to portray the real people we want to see.
The genuine robbery itself was a loud noisy terrifying experience for the security guards, but after initially bursting in with some aggression we have a slow, silent portrayal here that failed to capture the fear and violence of the ordeal.
From this scene the drama stumbles forward, without charm, humour or any feeling of the high stakes involved.
After watching the first episode I will not continue.
