Supersex (2024)
Actually good
I don't even know what drew me to the show (oh well probably the title) but I definitely didn't expect such a great quality show. I watched it in Italian and the actors were all great - top notch really. I'm still not 100% sure what the point of the story was to be honest but I just enjoyed watching it as a whole as the delivery was just that good. I don't think the dude had the most interesting life (most details were probably a little embellished) but it was just a glimpse into a different world which I really liked. And a bonus : even though this is a Netflix show, it wasn't the typical "we need to include everything and everyone " kind of spiel which I'm just so tired of. So definitely give this a Chance!
Survival of the Thickest (2023)
Hard to dislike, hard to call it actually good
I'm so on the fence, I enjoyed the show which is really all you can ask for from a Netflix show these days but this one was just so over the top trying to include every thing and everyone. At one point it just felt forced. The cast overall was great even though none of them were actually good actors, least of all the main actress (which I think is one of the prettiest women ever and look wise as amazing for the part) but I mean... Sometimes I actually didn't know she was being ironic or sincere because her acting was so bad. Her energy made up for it though. Story wise it was good, the humor and the jokes often good but too flat at times.
Episodes (2011)
Takes some time getting used to but it's worth it!
One of my all-time favourite shows. Hilarious! All the actors are outstanding, the plot is new and exciting. Can't stop watching this!
Royal Pains (2009)
Don't give up on this show too soon!
Honestly, when I stared watching this show my expectations were pretty low. I thought the story seemed pretty boring and the setting - well I thought I've seen it all before. Moreover, I did not like ANY of the characters at first and some even annoyed me (like Jil and Evan - especially Evan!). However, the writers really develop all characters very well and after a couple of episodes I simply started to love each of them. Everyone has their own story and you simply get drawn into it and keep on wanting more. There is never too much drama, however there is ALWAYS something going on that keeps you watching. I believe this show has everything it takes: a bit of action, a bit of drama, a lot of fun and looots of nice, expensive locations, houses and cars. Do not give up on this show after the first episodes! Hank will not let you down, I swear!
John Carter (2012)
simply a good movie
First of all: this movie is neither a sciences fiction movie nor a fantasy - it is both. And this is finally something new that I personally enjoyed very much. Of course, it does not make 'sense', but who cares? If you actually try not to pigeonhole this movie, I am pretty sure anyone can enjoy it. The plot line was surprisingly good; the characters were also something different from what you usually see in those kinds of movies. This movie will make you gaze because of its amazing sceneries but it will also make you laugh. The dialogs were not cheesy at all but often funny and refreshing.
Overall: I do not know why some people have so much negative criticism for this movie. Sometimes you should not look for the 'deeper' meaning in something and just shut up and enjoy a good movie.
The Hunger Games (2012)
Very, very disappointing
This is actually my first review here. I just have to say something about this movie. I was really excited to see it, because it sounded like such a good story and I've been hearing people talk about it all the time.
First of all, I was bored to DEATH during this movie. The scenes seemed so long sometimes and everything in this movie sort of got me annoyed. Poor characters, lame and cheesy lines, stupid teenager love story - that I could not believe until the end because I thought she liked the other guy back in her town whatsoever - the cast was –well- was mediocre, battle scenes blurred, background of the plot was not explained properly(I did not read the books). I only caught a glimpse at why it's actually called 'hunger games'; however no one seemed to starve – EVER.
I was looking forward to the battle scenes but they made them so quick and blurry and f*** up (sorry), that even those were boring and annoying. Also annoying: the 'hero' does not even make use of her 'strength' the bow thing but instead hides in trees and only kills people when she absolutely needs to - of course. It's a teenage movie and why should she kills someone? You don't kill people, kids - even if your life depends on it.
I'm rambling because I am still so upset that I paid 10 euro to see this crappy movie. I enjoyed absolutely nothing about this movie and I don't understand why other people like it so much.
So: do not go see this movie, if you haven't already. It's a waste of time.
