Community: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (2011)
Please air this episode!
Peacock just announced that it will be offering all six seasons of Community on its streaming site beginning on April 1. It will also air the long-awaited movie at a later date (TBD!)
I hope Peacock doesn't follow Netflix's example of leaving out this episode. That was such a ridiculous decision.
I've only seen this episode once, when it originally aired, so I'm just going on my memory of the episode. But I found it to be a little disturbing and a lot thought-provoking. But it also had very funny moments. Pierce was a jerk, as usual. And there was no character in blackface. It was Chang dressed in full-body black elf costume makeup, complete with wig and prosthetics. There's pictures of it all over the internet.
I have not read any bad reviews anywhere or any complaints about this episode. So please just keep it in the lineup and let the viewers make their own decision on whether or not to watch it.
Even if they need to have some sort of disclaimer at the end, like they did with Briggs Hatton and the Season 6 Wedding Episode (another disturbing, thought-provoking, hilarious episode).
That would be better than just pretending that the episode doesn't exist.
The Office: Finale (2013)
This is what a finale should be!
I've been a faithful viewer and have seen every episode. I disagree with many critics who have lambasted this final season. The problems were the "Sabre" years and the revolving door of managers. Although Kathy Bates and James Spader are excellent actors, they were sadly miscast. I was elated when David Wallace returned and saved the company. He was always my favorite upper-management character. This last season has returned to its roots and has been very good.
I was not looking forward to watching this finale because my expectations were low. The last long-running beloved comedy (Seinfeld) gave us a finale that was disappointing, to say the least. I was pretty sure my time was about to be wasted. I might not have even watched it at all if the turnaround this season hadn't been so pleasing. Actually, the final two episodes of this series are both excellent. I don't remember ever crying during an episode of The Office before. Anyone who hasn't watched all the previous episodes might not like the finale because they won't understand all the inside jokes. The cameos were laugh-out-loud and the way it all wrapped up brought unexpected tears to my eyes.
