Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)
Watchable but overall disappointing
For someone raised in the 70's and a huge Godzilla fan and monster movie fan, this was disappointing.
I think story was a good idea but not well put together to entertain any diverse audiance. The dialogue was very cheesy most of the time. There is more story than monsters. Unless you are willing to devote a lot of attention you might loose track with all the jumping from one timeline to another and then, should I mention the flashbacks? Wow! It can at times be difficult to know "when" they are.
So it isnt a complete snoozefest, but it is not a show I would ever watch again or really recommend to anyone. If there is a second season, I will definitely skip it.
First Kill (2022)
Not surprised it was cancelled so fast
Not a horrible series to binge, but I didnt think it was great either. Now that I know it has been cancelled. I feel cheated for a proper ending.
The vampire genre is one of my favorites and this had potential if it had not focused so much being a gay lesbian spectacle.
In the Dark (2019)
Not as bad as its reviews
Seems like some people will watch a show on the CW with rediculous expectations. This isn't a horrible show. It has some flaws like most series these days, but it isnt unwatchable. 1st season was actually pretty good. Season 2 was a little less good but still a decent watch. Season 3 follows seaon 2 with all involved having nothing but bad luck. I get quite a few laughs out of it to be honest, so really, its a CW show and not one of the worst on CW.
Mother/Android (2021)
Good lazy day movie
I find the bad reviews for this movie to be overly critical with out any credit to the positives. In todays streaming world, Mother/Android deserves a solid 7. The pace is slow at times, but the story and plot twists are good. The resolution is meaningful and In summary, it is a very watchable movie.
The Vanished (2020)
Nothing good
I gave 1 star for the ending. I gave 1 because I was able to make it to the end. The dialogue was horrible. The story line is jumpy and hard to follow.
Perry Mason (2020)
Worth a binge
I remember the old days of Perry Mason and this is by no means a remake, but that is what makes it good. It gives us old timers a fresh new look at who Perry Mason could have been without all of the censoring, and for those who never seen the original series, this take has some modern input that makes it fun to watch even you are just meeting Perry Mason.
I didnt give it ten stars because I found it overly dramatic at times, but despite that, I still enjoyed the relationships between the characters and how it all evolved.
