The Idea of You (2024)
A Masterclass In Chemistry
Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine were both phenomenal in this. I adored the book but I thought this was a wonderful adaptation that captured the essence of what made the book so great. I loved the original music they created for August Moon. It really made this fictional boy band come to life and feel more believable. Honestly though the highlight for me was the chemistry between Anne and Nicholas. Actors should be studying this in school it was that convincing. I truly bought in on their relationship and felt like the chemistry was palpable on screen. The ending was fun and hopeful but of course left me wanting more in the best way.
Chemical Hearts (2020)
Disappointing
I had such high hopes for this as I love both Lili and Austin as actors. I made the mistake of reading the book prior to watching the film and found myself comparing the two throughout. The movie just did not do justice to how incredible the book was. Obviously details, characters, and things are bound to be left out in any adaptation but there were unnecessary things changed. For example Henry's parents in the books are trusting, laid back, and very relaxed in their parenting but in the movie they made them look just the opposite. What is the purpose of that? There were just a lot of weird choices/changes. I did enjoy the cinematography and the music. I just was overall disappointed in how they brought this book to life. Read the book!
Pitch Perfect (2012)
Aca-mazing. Truly enjoyed Pitch Perfect.
I absolutely loved this movie. Saw an advanced screening and the entire theater was laughing and clapping throughout the movie! Refreshing to see a comedy and musical combo. A lot like Glee (minus the cheesy factor) mixed with witty comedy like in Bridesmaids and other modern popular comedies. Great casting! Any college girl is bound to love it. This is a movie even my mom would enjoy. It held my interest throughout and i think it was well produced. My boyfriend even enjoyed the comedy aspect of it! A great girls night out movie choice or even a date night movie. I feel like overall everybody loved it, I definitely did. I hope this movie earns the recognition it deserves. Its going to be a hit among young audiences like myself!
