The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
It Doesn't Work!
Even after all those messy news that came out before the realse of the show, how PC it all needed to be, and that the show needed to be diverce and wouldn't have anything to do with the original story. I of course had my fair share of worries. Even though, I was going in to this show open minded, and non-dogemental.
Even the first seconds of this movie, I recognized nothing. Would I loved about the lord of the rings, was its dark, rough and felt realistic somehow, even though it was fantasy, it felt real. This show feels like a colorfull disney show. It felt so off from the original material.
It had also the most boring characters in it. It felt pale and boring. If amazon felt like we needed a more diverce and colorful fantasy series, with strong woman characters and people of color. Why not just make something original? Some would say lord of the rings wasn't diverse enough. In my opinion it had more strong female characters you actually gave a S*** about, more than this series. Galadrial, Arven and Eowyn, was all some of my favorite characters. Of course this wasn't enough for Amazon, who needed the most diverse show on the planet.
Maybe if they actually used just half the time they'd been using on the diversity, on writing a fullfilling story, that would match the original material, then the should could actually had been epic. But well, of course we will get another season of this S***fest, otherwise Amazon would be the biggest loosers. The show doesn't deserve another season though.
And for all the people thinking the way I did, that the show surely can't be this bad, that everyone is saying it is. IT IS definitly that bad!
Amazon had the potential of giving all LOTR fans, what we have wanted all those years, instead they failed miserably. To call this Lord of this rings, is like taking a dump on Tolkiens grave. Disrespectful.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The Spiderman movie we needed all along.
Not much to say. If you have been a huge fan of Spiderman since you were born like me, and watched the last couple of movies being sad and frustrated about them. Then this one solves the whole Spiderman puzzle. It makes all the live action franchises suddenly have a purpose. This is such a great way of connecting all the dots. What a great writing all over, great story and insain acting. Willem Defoe is just insain as green goblin. Sadly, I do not think we will ever get a movie with only him and spidey, but damn. What a performance by him and everyone else. I was impressed, and smiled all the way home. What a great experience this was!
Klaus (2019)
Probably the best Christmas movie since home alone.
Had no idea what to expect about this movie, I like animated movies because of my background as a 3D designer and content creator. The movie showed up on my start page on Netflix and decided to give it a try, after 10 minutes I was hooked untill the end credits. This reminded me of corpse bride in a way but way more interesting story line (even though I love corpse bride). Absolutely loved the visuals of this movie, it's gorgeous. If you have netflix, this is a must see for all in the holidays.. You can't miss this.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019)
I freaking love the universe, and I'm a grown man..
I did not see the original movie from the 80's before I was socked into this universe, but I was instantly in love with its beauty. Maybe its not a 10/10, but I love Netflix for making something so original and magical for once. This is a nice combo with stranger things for me. Both series are 10/10 entertainment. Well done Netflix.
Justice League (2017)
Zack Snyder took our beloved heroes, and mixed them in a cooking pot with a huge smelly CGI-poo..
Just came from the Cinema and got this awful feeling in my body. That feeling you have when your girlfriend breaks up with you, or you have a big hangover but nothing to eat in the fridge..
This movie is the sad future of hollywoods big super hero franchises. I actually kind of liked Batman V Superman, and I was chocked by the last trailer that came out. I thought it looked weird and bad, and my thought became real..
I have no idea how a movie like this, gets screened in front of an audience, and then approved to hit cinemas world wide. People don't have any standards anymore, and it seems like it's just a CGI-race for the producers.
They even made my favorite superhero useless. In Superman V Batman, they actually destroyed my fears, and made Batman Badass! He had a couple of scenes where he shined. Like when he saves Supermans mother, and he just goes apes**t on those badguys. THAT IS WHAT THE AUDIENCE WANNA SEE!
however, the movie had one of the worst endings I've seen in a movie in a loong time. The bad Zack Snyder greenscreen/CG-hell turned out to make the movie worse instead of better. Zack Snyder can't make a good climax for his movies.
I think the guy needs a break away from Hollywood for a long time. The man has showed us he can make good movies, but the cgi environments we thought and loved as art, (like in SinCity and 300) turnes out to be just a getaway from what we actually love about movies. That we can relate to them, and make us disappear into a world where everything can become real. But the 60 mins CGI show, just turnes out to be a bad, not well done, gimmick.
STOP ruin our beloved childhood heroes while you still can.. This movie was AWFUL!
Draft Day (2014)
Fast based, story driven movie, that sucks you into the Draft universe.
First of all, I am very disappointed with peoples reviews in here. People are reviewing it bad because, "it's not for people outside of America.." "It's only for people who likes the nfl.", " It's only for Draft enthusiasts..", etc..
In my opinion, this movie is a fast based story driven movie, that does everything right. I myself, is from Denmark, Europe, and I am very interested in the NFL, and American football. We actually have American football in europe, if people wanna know, and it is actually a big sport in some countries. (france, Big Britain, Germany, Finland, etc.
I made it a tradition at home now, to watch this movie, before the NFL draft every year, and last time I did, my girlfriend watched it with me. She isn't much interested in sports, but she gave it a go.. I was telling her she could just go to sleep when she was tired, because the Draft would start at 02:00am here in Denmark. Pretty late on a workday.
She gave it a change, and after the first 15 mins of the movie, she was sucked into this new univers of the NFL Draft.
The movie is nowhere near Jurassic Park, (a personal favorite of mine..) but I am comparing it with it anyways, because, what Jurassic Park was so good at, was drawing the audience into the movie, to make it so exciting. That is what Draft Day does as well. This is maybe not a 10/10 movie, but I think it desserves some support out of all the bad reviews in here. It doesn't desserve a rating under 7.5. There is BY FAR!! a lot worse movies out there than Draft Day!
The Point is, IT IS watchable for people outside of USA, and it IS watchable for people, who isn't that interessted in football, but just wanna watch a good story driven movie! They mind end up getting a passion for football after all!
