Almost Human (2013–2014)
9/10
Fox- Do Not Cancel This Show!!!
6 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
There is very little on TV (network AND cable) that's worth watching. I'm absolutely sick of reality shows- scripted or not. How much of the same thing can we be subjected to? But Almost Human is something me and my hubby look forward to on Monday nights. The writing is witty, fun, and the story lines engaging. The main characters have a chemistry that works well. Perhaps a few things could have been better developed- like "the wall" - which has some of us viewers scratching our heads on that one. Other than that, the show is a bright light in an otherwise dim host of TV shows. Fox, Please Do Not Cancel this show!!! I can think of others that would be better suited to the chopping block. Please don't take something good away from us!

RED 2 (2013)

A really fun afternoon flick!
20 July 2013
Saw RED2- thoroughly enjoyed it despite a few technical inaccuracies. I won't really mention what they were, and they were easily overlooked because the cast and story was like a runaway train.

The cast was stellar, dialog and action great. Unique storyline (the trailer doesn't really tell you much) and plenty of laughs.

If they make a RED3, I'd go see it. Especially if they brought back William Cooper. (If anyone is looking for a story idea- I have a great one).

Fantastic popcorn flick that made a hot, miserable afternoon so much better. If you liked RED, you'll like this one too!

Felt completely disjointed
11 July 2013
I've seen all the other Bourne movies- several times each. When I sat down to watch this one, the first half of the movie just jumped around and felt like it was disjointed. Seemingly a forced attempt to bring all the movies together- which didn't work, by the way. I was so confused, I got up and went to wash the dinner dishes. When I came back, my absence helped because it seemed to have launched into another act and more of it made sense- they let the current characters run with the story instead of flipping back and forth. Overall, I didn't particularly enjoy the movie. The actions scenes were too close in similarity to the other movies- not sure if this was done for overall "feel" or just laziness. Wasn't impressed.

Wanted more
17 May 2013
I was really excited to see the new Star Trek. Yes, it hit the ground running, and the first half delivered everything I wanted. BUT, with the big reveal in the second half, it became hollow and clichéd. I wanted so much more from this film and know that JJ and crew can do it. Why did they opt for that path? The first installment was fantastic, blew my mind. Now I'm wondering what happened. Dialog and characters were fairly good, but some lines could've packed more punch or been less strained. Example, the Bones lines we've all come to love: "Damn it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a..." While delivered as best as possible by a very capable actor, should've been written better. Talk about awkward lines! As an author of 8 novels and a fledgling screenwriter, I think JJ needed to rethink this storyline. Don't take so much from the past. You've completely changed the space-time continuum, so rock with it and give us fresh content. Will I see another installment? Heck yeah, but don't make the same mistakes. Oh, yes, and enough of the lens flares! A few are OK, but that was getting downright annoying.
