Bar-B-Q (2000)
Yummy Bar-B-Q
From the cover of this DVD my mum thought " This looks like an enjoyable party picture" (Everything about this comment was wrong). When she brought home, I recall she brought a few other films with her. We looked at each film and, fittingly, this "film" was at the bottom of the pile. "Bar-B-Q?" "Oh just give it a try. The front cover said "No.1 in America"" So we decided to give it a try. We had watched the other films and were, as usual, disappointed. Opened the video player.Popped it in.Black Screen.Opening Credits.Grainy.Artistic? "Featuring Lazy Bone of Bone Thugs And Harmony" Oh. To my latest recollection he wasn't even of David Spade standard. But The Crossroads was great. The first couple of minutes were a strain on the eyes, ears and human rights... and this was before the overweight male(By the way:Best thing on the video) came in with his deeply unnecessary bodily function jokes. I could see my mum curling up in the corner with "laughter". The final straw came when a car pulled up about half-way through the video and the camera zoomed in and out like someones 2 year old brother had started playing with the camera. We decided to watch it. It could be laughably bad. Now, with the exception of a confusingly bad "British" guy complaining about the noise, it was not one of those films. Now, in Monty Python, it was passable with males playing females. But how John West thought the audience would simply ignore a huge man acting prissy without even a sideways chuckle I do not know. Hats off to the guy at Rolling Out(Rolling stone's little brother?) that lost the bet because: "Raw, Witty & Boisterously Entertaining"? Thats got to be THE best thing on the DVD I now own. This film has inspired me to make movies...because if this can get made, I am thinking of submitting the film of my dog...licking it's balls.
