Little (2019)
It's Been Done Before & Even Better
Decent movie, somewhat entertaining. It's one of hose movies that gives the attitude, "I enjoyed watching it but I'd still survive if I didn't". Many of the jokes fell flat & it was like they were trying to hard to be funny! I'd rather watch Big, with Tom Hanks again, than this. Never should've gotten a theatrical release. Should've went directly to video. The best part of the movie was looking at the beautiful Regina Hall! Unfortunately, she was only in the first & third acts! The writing was lazy because it's hard to dispel belief when they gave no explanation as to how the plot came to exist. Wasn't a good or bad movie. It was just a movie. I've seen worse, but I've also seen much better!
Stuck on You! (1983)
So Bad, It's Good!
An underrated, B-movie comedy, with a lot of sight gags & one liners that's very entertaining!
From the people who brought you The Toxic Avenger, brings you this romantic comedy, with more comedy than romance. The story is about a couple who loves each other very much but hates each other's ways s o much, it effects their love. Between career choices, family & culture clashes, it's hard for them to maintain their relationship, so they decided to file for palimony, which is alimony for couples whom aren't legally married but are common law spouses. But instead of granting them palimony, the judge (who is actually an angel in disguise) decided to talk them into trying to work it out. In a very eccentric way, the judge tells them historical stories in a peculiar way, in an attempt to talk them into working it out, which will take the couple (& the viewers) on a very entertaining & hilarious ride!
This movie isn't for everyone. If you're not a fan of typical immature humor like farts, burps, etc., this may not be a movie for you. It's definitely is a victim of the 3-C's... campy, corny & cheesy, but hidden in between it all, it does deliver a touching message of, "you don't love someone because of who they are, but you love them in spite of who they are"! A chick flick hidden in a guy flick! There definitely is an audience for a movie like this!
Player in Training (2005)
Worth way more than what I paid for it!
While food shopping at the local supermarket, I came across this movie in the bin where they were selling DVD's for about $5 or less. For some reason it seemed as if it was telling me, "buy me! I'm worth it!", so I bought it & later on that evening, I watched it & was hooked ever since. I now call this "movie crack" because once you start watching, you're hooked. The story isn't new. It's been told before but what makes this movie special is how it's told. The characters are relatable & likeable. Very obvious it was made on a shoestring budget due to the quality of the film, editing & lighting but it still doesn't take away from the story. If you ever get the opportunity to watch it, make it your business to! It's worth it!
