Sleigh Bells Ring (2016)
Very Good
Cheesy, but this one has good writing and its poignant at crucial times. Definitely climaxes@ end and the story has several layers. A great surprise here plus its not just about her and the little girl. Didn't understand her getting angry w\him until realizing she is a single Mom. The mayor is one vision only and story-wise all kind of fits plus the Santa keeps doing secret things, so I can see him trying to put them together. The very ending is typical Hallmark, but this kind of sweet is what makes these work. Am trying to make this my favorite and it is getting there. Even though 8 years old still fresh...
The Brave (2017)
Brave
The first episode I thought was awesome. I think it got canceled b\c it is too much like the real stuff that "might" happen. Look at the new Terminator list
out now, plus I have seen worse actually thrive. Too close to home ...imo.
Not w\s all the Iran stuff.
The Untouchables: Death for Sale (1961)
MacArthur is key here
Lupin is key. My dad grew up in New York then and it was a rough and tumble place. If this is based on a true story, then tough it is. Violent and sweet too, like him wanting to just walk in the Rain. Bitter ending but Lupin was gambling everything so justice be my friend.....Rf.
Out of Blue (2018)
Unsure but Certain
Tough call here, but am intrigued by those who liked it. Slow and confusing sure, but the story makes some sense at the end. Until the end i always wondered if Mike had some trauma herself. Muddled and self serving, but even Ebert said a story is here. I like Murder Dramas and this is one, but all the cosmic play stuff is nonsense. I can see 1 star for the non-believers, but the story here is not phony: reason for the good review.
Aloha (2015)
Underrated
Was kinda blown away, and remembered Crowe w\Vanilla Sky and Almost Famous. This is not his best but much better than a "5.4". Have good personal connection to this so its an excellent portrayal of all the drama within the military, Agree with all the positive responses, the whole racism bit is non-sense and alot of this film is about outside the Military, Would recommend this because Crowe definitely captures some of the odd things in a military and a romantic life....
