Enola Holmes (2020)
Huge Disappointment, with a really Annoying Main Character and Unnecessary Feminism
1 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As many stated it before me, this film is a huge disappointment to all Sherlock, Henry Cavill or even Sam Claflin fans. Clearly, these guys sell the movie, as well as the fame and popularity of Sherlock Holmes. However, this movie is about a millenial style teenage girl set in the late 19th century, which is way beyond weird. I tend to agree with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's family who are suing the writers for abusing Sherlock's name and character. The film did no justice to the absolutely talented Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter or Sam Claflin either. These guys would've deserved much more screen time. The young marquess' story is kind of interesting, I liked that actor and his character but seriously, what's the message here and to whom? A 16-year-old girl who has never really left her home will save a young man from grave dangers and tough murderers?? Then when Prince Charming falls for her, she chooses independence? Pull the other one

Surprisingly Good, Absolutely Funny Movie with Great Singing and Catchy Tunes
1 October 2020
As many stated before me, this movie surpasses your expectations. Hilarious at times, but also thrilling and captivating. I disagree that everything is predictable in it, there are some great twists and even shocking scenes. The casting is almost perfect although I'd given the main role (Lars') to someone else. Pierce Brosnan and Dan Stevens are fantastic, in fact, I liked the Russian character the most. " A pet tiger? It can be arranged." I laughed so hard at that line. The music was Eurovision Song Contest level great, the performances well-thought and designed, the actors very good and if nothing else, this movie definitely promoted Iceland rather than ridiculed. The 9 is simply because I so wanted the main character to go and have that exciting life with that hot and super-talented singer instead of choosing a mediocre life. The ending was kind of cute but also a bit disappointing. Gonna watch it again for sure. Pure entertainment.

Unnecessary Deaths and Plotholes- Still a Great Marvel Movie
2 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is gonna be short and comes rather late: Why kill Loki and so soon?? His death was totally uncalled for and completely illogical. He could use illusion and change shape- why wouldn't he just do it? He had already faked his own death-twice! Seriously, Marvel, give Loki (the amazing Tom Hiddleston) much more screen time in the movies! Apart from that, the movie was great, full of action , twists and humour, we've seen it several times and probably will watch it again.

The Witcher (2019– )
Surprisingly Good Series, Great Production and Acting
2 January 2020
I have decided to add my review after reading that all the "positive" reviews come from "new users" thus "can't be trusted", overall the series is "over-rated and over-hyped", etc. First off, I'm a huge fan of adventure, action and drama in general, with the Borgias as my all-time favourite, but I don't like seeing blood and gore so I've never watched GOT. (Luckily, cause now I can't compare the two shows:) As for my "Witcher-hood" I've only tried playing the Witcher 3 once cause my kids kept nagging me to play Gwent. Truth be told, my main reason for watching the show was the fact that it was part filmed, just like the Borgias, in Tata, our beautiful hometown. So, I fully agree with the others: Henry Cavill is amazing as Geralt, he was a really good choice as well as the other main characters: Yennefer (A. Chalotra), Yaskiel (J. Batey), or Tissaia (M. Buring). Most of the actors are spot-on, except for a few who clearly don't fit in with this fantasy world that comes from Poland. The costumes, the settings, the colours all seem perfect to me. My personal dislike and the minus 2 from score 10 is due to the gore and blood, not to mention the very adult-y R+ scene in Episode 5. I can only hope they will tone it down (along with the unnecessary PC) in Season 2.

Black Panther (2018)
Not as Good as the Thor, Avengers or Captain America Movies but Well Worth Watching it
17 February 2018
If you expect the same excitement, humour and action as in Thor, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy or the Captain America movies you will be disappointed; however, if you are ready to give it a chance and see something different, you'll love it. I don't agree with those who said there was no great acting, the actors were brilliant, especially the women. Yes, it's true that politics was involved but I think in a good way, it conveyed a message which people in today's modern societies need. The visuals, the costumes were beautiful and the soundtrack too. The story was well written and there were surprising/unexpected elements as well. Only the beginning was a bit boring. I enjoyed it and would definitely watch it again just like any other Marvel movies. The 9/10 is because Loki was not in it.:( (Not that I expected him to be, but he's my absolute favourite villain:))))

The First Star Wars Movie that I will not Watch Again
7 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Most of the problems have already been listed by other reviewers so I will try to be short. My biggest problem was the cast.

Why would anyone choose this actor for Kylo??? Adam Driver does not have the face, the moves, the skills you need for this role. François Arnaud would have. Honestly, Disney, you need to discover this actor- he is your man. I missed the necessary one hottie from this movie and he could have just been the one.

The main female character is way too weak too. Not a good choice either. And her counterpart, the young black man? I'm sorry but he was a joke. Funny, but not like Han Solo.

The only actors who could have saved the movie were Harrison Ford but Han Solo gets killed (a great shock and totally uncalled for) too soon; and Mark Hamilton, but he only appears at the very end. Why???

Me and my family have been watching Star Wars all over, again and again, and now we all feel let down by the franchise. I don't know if it is because it is impossible to do SW without George Lucas but the people in charge of the casting (Nina Gold, April Webster, Alyssa Weisberg) should definitely be replaced. (along with the main characters)

And I am all for strong women (I am one) but enough of the girl power. Star Wars is and should be about so much more than that.

The Borgias (2011–2013)
Amazing Story with Excellent Performance - Francois Arnaud Perfect
3 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This TV series is unbelievable. The acting, the sets, the camera shots, the music, the story, the humour, the suspense and the action it provides: I don't think I have ever been so amazed by a historical drama as by this one. Jeremy Irons as the Borgia pope, Sean Harris as the brutal assassin Micheletto, Holliday Grainger as the sweet but cunning daughter of Pope Alexander VI, David Oakes as the vicious lady killer, the second son of Rodrigo Borgia - all add to the authenticity of the plot with their perfect acting: the characters couldn't be more alive. However, it is Francois Arnaud playing Cesare Borgia, who stands out the most with his breathtaking performance. His every move, gaze, looks, voice is incredibly genuine: Francois Arnaud IS Cesare Borgia in this TV series. No matter what he does or says, you must love him for who he is. Of course the screenplay is brilliant at every single word but it is Francois Arnaud's excellence that brings life to the whole script. Unfortunately, as the historical basis itself was very dark some of the topics in the drama are not suitable for younger viewers, especially because they are plainly and quite vividly depicted on the screen. Sexual immorality, homosexual love, the vicious fight for power, revenge, incest, fratricide and gore at all level make the film suitable only for viewers over 16 (and are not squeamish), but they can learn a lot about the true ways of medieval papacy, religion, crime, loyalty, love and suffering, riches and poverty, family life in general. History and human behaviour couldn't have been brought to life any better than in the Borgias. Congratulations to all the cast (especially Francois Arnaud), the director, the screenwriter, the composer (the music is incredible) and let's hope Season 4 will come to finish this marvellous story.

Best Twilight Movie Ever
31 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Although this movie did contain more violence and gore than any of the other parts, I can say with 100% assurance that it was way the best of them all. The actors played better than ever, there were much more jokes and funny elements as well as more excitement too. If you like this very romantic, epic vampire story, you will love the end. However, there is a twist towards the very end, which was quite a bit of a shock for both me and my kids. Unfortunately, I hadn't known about it at the time because in my country the premiere was earlier than in the USA and no-one had written a review about it before we went.:(. And here comes the spoiler or the warning for other sensitive people: before the great battle between the Volturi and the good vampires (the Cullens and the rest, their witnesses) Alice shows the future to Aro. However, when you watch this part in the cinema, you believe that it is reality and actually happening. So when Carlisle decides to fight Aro in close combat, it comes as a shock when Aro wins and shows up Carlisle's torn- off head to the others. After this scene comes the fiercest and most spectacular battle ever and several of our beloved heroes seem to die: Jasper, some of the wolves along with Jane from the Volturi and in the very end: Aro. This is the point when the director lets us realise all those horrible events were to come only if Aro lets them, or rather, unless he prevents them. Of course he doesn't want to die so he makes the right decision, just like in the book. At this moment there was a great uproar in the cinema, the whole audience shouted with relief. Many viewers would welcome this twist, I didn't. The book was much more peaceful. In this movie Bella and Edward's love is depicted beautifully, and there is no actual sex scene to worry about. The end is cathartic and I truly believe this movie is well worth watching it. Congrats to all the actors and makers for doing so great. Those people who found it boring or disappointing, I have no idea why. To me it is a great story about true love, friendship, faithfulness, courage as well as great entertainment.
