The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Colin Farrell & Brendan Gleeson a Match Made in Heaven
This movie is fantastic. Taking place on a remote Island off of Ireland, in 1923 during the Irish Civil War. We are introduced to two friends in this very small town where word travels fast. Once the conflict of between Colm and Padraic starts, you can truly feel their uncomfortableness for each other. Colin Farrell's worrying about his friend and what has happened is wonderfully done. Also Brendan Gleeson's commit to try to avoid his ex friend is a sight to see. The supporting cast are very well balanced, adding to the unorthodox nature of the friendship's chaos. Also the very traditional Irish slang and conversations are such a delight to behold that keeps you engaged throughout the whole film.
See How They Run (2022)
Unexpected Wonderful Joy
When a buddy cop and mystery crime drama movie combines, you get this film. This movie does a good job keeping you engaged/entertained as you follow the inspector and inspector in training, from Scotland's Yard, trying to put together the pieces to solve a crime. The narration is spot on where it actually adds additional information. The acting between the two trying to solve a murder that no one cares about is brilliant, their chemistry shows that Inspector Stoppard frustration with actually trying to solve it and Constable Stalker's wonderful attention to detail with writing everything down.
There's a well balance of comedy, mystery, and also drama in an unexpected thrill of a movie I never once imagine I was going watch even love.
Black Adam (2022)
DO NOT go watch in Theaters, wait to stream this online. Bland, Boring, & out Dated
I agree that the action was fun and Dwayne Johnson is a great fit to play Black Adam. But the storyline is simple and boring. You develop more emotions for the Justice Society than Black Adam himself. Adam is played very emotionless why. Wouldn't you be very angry and frustrated being locked up for 5000 years. The narration in the beginning is poorly done. The music chosen is so out of date and fails to hype up the action sequences. I would've love to see a more of a origin story that takes place in the past and show the struggle of how he gained his powers and finally in prisoned at the end of the movie. This would perfectly set up a sequel where he faces SHAZAM when he is released. His true nemesis is SHAZAM and he wasn't hinted at or mentioned at all. What a shame. This is a movie only deserved for streaming. Do Not go to theaters for this, save your money.
