Panic (2021)
Fun Escapism
I really enjoyed this show. It's a great, fun, summer show, one where you are entertained and have a bit of escapism. I liked the twist and the ending a lot. I hope it comes back for a second season. While the actors are def older than high school age, by a bit I'm guessing, they did a great job and I felt all the actors were perfectly cast in their roles. If you go into this show knowing it's for young adults and it's not too deep, you'll be entertained.
Fantasy Island (2020)
Great summer movie or escapism
This movie is what it is. It's there to entertain and I thought it did well at that. It's visually pleasing, acting is very good, can be funny, a touch of mild suspense, and has some nice references to the original. It was a great watch and helped with the escapism and entertainment I was looking for. If you are looking for a deep or jump scary movie, you know this is not going to be it, so go in with an open mind, escape, and have fun.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Yes, thank you for making me laugh
I just wanted to laugh this year. Feel nostalgic, in a good way. Bill & Ted Face The Music did JUST THAT. My family laughed, we felt nostalgic, we were together, we had historical talking points to cover after the movie, and we LAUGHED again. It was entertaining. It was a sequel. I liked it. I recommend it.
Blue Planet II (2017)
Mesmerizing
One of the best documentary series I have ever watched. A must watch for anyone into the ocean, nature, and definitely for families. Strikingly beautiful and mesmerizing. Surprisingly chock full of information I have never seen or read before too!
Terminal (2018)
Go beyond the usual...
Sleeper. Intriguing. Visually appealing. Slow burn but worth it. I enjoyed the cinematography and use of color. Dialogue reminiscent of stories from a good book. Likely not for everyone.
John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway (2018)
Funny. History. I want more.
Why wasn't he teaching me in school? While I laughed a TON I can not believe how much I learned. I laughed. I gasped. I'm writing down authors and historical names. He made me want to look up more. I'm reading and learning and I was ENTERTAINED. I want more like this. Please give us more! 11/10 recommend.
The Degenerates (2018)
My Kind of Comedy
If you don't like the crude, lude, and borderline offensive you may not like this series. If you do, welcome to the club. I watched this in one evening laughing my a$$ off. I came to watch this because of Joey Diaz and was introduced to additional hilarious, laugh out loud comics. Very enjoyable and will watch again.
Mile 22 (2018)
Surprisingly good
Surprisingly good action flick. Excellent fight scenes. Just enough story to keep you engaged while you wait for more action.
Joe Rogan: Strange Times (2018)
We laughed so HARD
I love Joe Rogan's brand of comedy. He is not for everyone, but if you enjoy him you will laugh out loud. He says what everyone is thinking but won't say. The pacing is great and if you listen to his podcast you won't be disappointed.
Annihilation (2018)
Visually appealing but...
Fan of the first book here...
10% of the book was in the movie. They should have just called it something different, so I didn't get my hopes up.
That aside, I give it a meh, wait till it's on dvd. I like the writer/director a lot but this was lacking. Some parts felt lazy. Excellent sound/composing. Visually appealing.
Last 15 minutes were kinda cool. Overall disappointed it was not a more thought out sci-fi flick. (And why say based on the book when so little was used?!)
