Surprise: Good Actors Make a Great Movie.
25 September 2022
You've got Josh Duhamel who's underrated with wit and humor... then the last Genuine man in Hollywood- Mel Gibson doing his thing... and then to see the Stunner, Elisha Cuthbert -our hypercrush from our recent youth (if you're a middle aged man) of 'The Girl Next Door' as a love interest. That foundation alone gives any movie a 6.8-7.0. Add in a good script with known & unknown twists- and you have a real refreshing movie. I enjoyed the feel and pace along with the throwback 1980's timeline. If you are looking for a good movie that'll put you in the mischief, and make you care what happens, I say this is worthwhile. It has a bit of that "X" character that adds to a good film, but when asked- you can't quite put your finger on it. Give it a shot.

Such Potential, Left Without Imagination.
25 July 2022
Could have been Epic- remaking the 1997 Horror Flick. But the other reviewers nailed it- There was No Development of Characters, Writers so tight focusing on being Woke, and Writers today Not knowing how to build suspense as needed in a horror movie. If a character gets killed, it's not the actual killing that is scary, it's the tension of not knowing if they are going to be harmed- or when? In this show- they had no concept in this miniseries. They missed many classic, easy to do marks. Try 1-3 episodes if you're a fan of the original movie- I'm betting 60% of you who try this will turn it off. The Right director & and writers, and this could have been a great ride- didn't feel that way watching this show.

Improved remake... But Weird Moments-
22 May 2022
Liam sounds the same, but looks & acts totally different. It's either his clone, or $100K of Aesthetic work to reverse his age. What makes this movie is the Great supporting cast, 2-3 Veterans who could carry their own movie. A little slow at times, awkward face expressions, and foreign actors straining to speak tough American Cop language- is all okay, it adds to the uniqueness of the movie. The miss from greatness is the inability to connect and draw in the audience to the story and the character- as the flow of the movie is kinda stuttered and forced. Definitely a watch, but with all of the elements of a classic- it's lack of continuity and focus keeps it from being so....

Great potential- story to capture Cult Following- Fail.
27 February 2022
First they try to use DS Nwo narrative of the Cv hoax to fear-lock the audience that the earth is virally infested & global warming is something real... pure fiction -misses as does the expected 'me too' cred seeked from the old Film industry they try to virtue signal... Going against humanity - always a bad premise and wrong move. The story is meh, but the Russian -English dialogue makes everyone a cyborg robot, whether they are, or not. Cgi is decent. Only if there is Nothing else on your list to watch. Very mediocre.

Soft Core- Dumbed Down so much, It Hurts.
16 December 2020
From A HardCore Magnum PI Sitcom Expert: If you Finished Hawaii 5-0 finale, then here is the High School Play version of the Next Episode. It's like a mad cycle of "Let's invite B actors to Hawaii, to hang out, say a few lines, improvise, and if the story makes any sense- hey, all the better, but not necessary. Incessant music in background, inappropriately drawing the wrong emotion that it is supposed to encourage. No filters on camera to highlight the beautiful Hawaii- as it looks like Filming each day is at 0600 in a fog storm. Lead is ok, Lady Higgins is condescending Brit who forgot her sunscreen. Too quirky to crave a love story here- with Snippy banter and mucho PC overtones- BFF used 5 Times, by hip Adults in first 2-3 Episodes. I guess if you watch a whole season, you may find an episode that is entertaining. I wasn't that lucky and quit after 3-4. I felt a longing for a cheesy reboot of The Love Boat- to better the taste in my mouth... a generous 4-

Misinformation... Near silly

This is a 'what if' experiment- with a couple of closed minded dolt's hypotheses. The average citizen has seen more otherworldly, than this docu maker. 2 suns was a clue... and radio signaling ET ... c'mon- it's transparent, insulting, and attempting to stir up old narratives. Very elementary with no real substance.

Condescending Constrained Neuroticism... With Gallons of Botox on Set.
4 November 2020
La ti dah, lives expressed in quip liberal NY too hip for you, setting- Obvious branch off of Big Little Lies success, Kidman tries to recapture the ingredients to bake a similar cake... Interesting start, and may be worth a following. The problem is the cynical overtones are forced and sarcasm as a lifestyle makes one question the positive 'get' one seeks to Invest bingeing a series like this? Kidman, operates in that one Dominant gear of slow pronunciation, and peculiar dainty, yet hip and together projection. Problem two, is the lack of pace, and Kidman's 1 and only facial expression, as filler's and nip-tucks disallow any variation of emotional expression. Some have commented on counting the plastic procedures or guessing amounts of Botox used- instead of delving into the plot - as it's distracting from the story and it's, well, a lot... Not top notch - Not bad or uninteresting, but somewhere in the middle- 7 is fair and Spot on-

Parody, Prepubescent, Mockumentary- of Music Industry...
31 August 2020
Plenty Of Cheeeeze: Take an ex-Porn Star- KKross of P-Hub... add, a FL HS star from FL named Aeon (real name) and throw in a Bearded man-child and tell him to stay in tanning bed in between takes, and to Not put on a shirt- the entire movie... add some one liner's, muchísimo 80's banter, and ya get just enough weird-ism to keep interest of watching an attempt at making fun of the music industry. Watchable? Yes. Buyable, No... Arena rock era, meets indie, low-budget message for mankind. Worth a gander if topic catches your interest... but won't see em at any awards podium anywhere...

These are the words that the Movie starts off with. I enjoy hearing of the supernatural. That said, I look for evidence and need strong proof to get into the story being laid out. This doc Maybe, maybe not. Nonetheless, it's an interesting and well shot piece. If ya need a 60-70 min distraction, and enjoy hearing people tell their story in regards to ET, UFO's, & Abductions- then you will like this docu clip. Need action or thrills?- keep scrolling.

An Absolutely, Unbelievably, Look at Animals - and I'm Not Talking About The Tigers & Snakes
31 March 2020
I watched this thinking it would be semi-entertaining to see problems with small Zoo's & Animal legality- Boy was I underestimating the Plot!? There is more True Drama than any 3 Hollywood Films you can pick. Think 'Joe Dirt' does 'Pulp Fiction' and the entire cast can be anyone as long as they are a Convicted Felon, and are freely provided massive amounts of Meth and Crack... No one says it, but from watching the first few minutes of episode 1- it's blazingly obvious that this is a misdiagnosed documentary study of the rampant drug Use in poverty prone middle America, and filming the decisions of a chemically induced group of people. The woman in FL is a whole separate crime case documentary in itself. All I can say, Is watch, hold on for the ride, and when you think that you have seen it all... keep watching because the next scene outdoes the last crazy scene - by double... The Tigers and Animals are just the background for this NutFest... and too they are the most sane of All the cast in the show!...

Man Of Man... Firstly
28 February 2020
I am a military dad and space buff- and I don't usually write reviews- but just finishing this movie, I had to reach for the tablet. Going into this movie, ya need to know, that yep, the show is about the space program...But, it's more about a brooding, melancholic, biopic of life trials on Neil Armstrong. 40% about Space- 60% of melo-drama about a talented pilot, about to 'snap' at his family, his teammates, and the military. And it's well done- It's just tough events in a tone of depressed, stressed chronicles leaving you with No joy or elation or even pride of American, patriotic accomplishment. 180 from flick The Right Stuff- Toward end , I wanted to get the guy some Prozac or Zoloft... Don't regret watching - but wasn't prepared for the down slope moody perspective and heavy drama slant. Worth it for the basics of events and shots of rockets, aircraft, & lunar scenes. Thanks for reading- hope this helps- Mike-Atl.

Blind Spin On A Few- Half The Picture- Lots left out...
11 February 2020
On surface, it seems like How could they send a vet back / deport them? But they are a very few as most have legally 8 years to nationalize and become a US citizen. And 95% of vets in this scene- do so. The problem with this doc is they don't show the other side. These are a small fraction who have all admitted that they have returned to crime, made mistakes legally, and are caught in the system... it's about crime and wanting exception for crime because they served in military. If you are ambitious and want to add value to a built society- then there are ways for you in the US. If you are a slacker, undriven, a drain, and only want to take from an advanced society- then No, that's not what US is about. And legal citizens flip the tax bill so that's why people get mad about opening the floodgates to immigrants who just 'want'- but aren't willing to 'give' by registering legally, paying taxes and sharing the load. Military? Paid by US Tax paying citizens. Hospitals, treatment, and Vet benefits?-Again paid by US Tax paying citizens. Every year, 300,000 unregistered immigrants cross into California... Don't pay taxes- and they wonder why State has gone broke/ bankrupt? Why cost of living is sky high? There are proper channels to be a US citizen- doing drugs and becoming hit men are not the way. But I do believe Military service should be weighed considerably in these men's cases-

Bad Astra...
25 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Hmmm- The Drama- 3 a monotone speakover of Pitt reading quip lines of depressed wisdom. I miss my hero dad... next I hate and must kill my dad. The Action- 5 dune buggies on the moon ramming officers in 1/7th gravity? Killer Baboons in space?... The Love Story- 1 Non existent, Liv Tyler phones in a 25 second monologue saying she misses her space hubby. The Comedy- 1 I give a 1/10 for the pillow & blanket stewardess saying- that'll be $125... no other comedy. Horror 0. None. Sci/Fy 2. It was a nice scene or two-but 'nothing' quite like Interstellar... No character bonding, just Pitt talking to himself with blank stare. No chemistry and the movie's vibe was just off and wrong. If you want Proof- just go to Area 51, Wright/Patt, Ft Lauderdale, or Mountain in N Nevada. Ask Bob Lazar? The hundreds of 1,000's on record, sightings, encounters, abductions. To go 3 planets over, give up hope, and loose your mind over failing... Ridiculous. There are over 100Billion stars w/ planets just in our Galaxy. 1 of 70Billion known Galaxies. It's a mathematical certainty. Not sure this movie put much thought toward anything but a father and son premise, then said we'll just make up the rest as we go along. Baboons!?! A 5/10 is generous.

Decent show, You have to delve deeper into the series to see the trials of Einstein than the first episode. It's set as a light drama-- not a documentary. It hits different life points and takes you thru Germany, wartime, and shows the interactions and relationships that saw this man go from awkward, different--to focused and brilliant. It's entertainment covering a gifted mans rise to immortality among the scientific community. Curiosity x persistence X out of the box thinking 2 (squared)...

Why Write a Movie, when you can Just take a Plot from Saving Private Ryan & Adapt it to Different War...
1 January 2020
I could do well making a (Top 5 movie) copy, say Kindler's List, or 1915- and use the same premise... but how inventive and creative would that be? Already proven to be exceptional, the SPR formula is a War masterpiece- but to call this movie an achievement, well, not really, as it's been done before. I like the movie, a lot. It just seems that folks making the big bucks in cinema today, should be paid to 'Innovate'... not Imitate.

Bay trying to outdo, after being outdone
15 December 2019
As Transformers got ridiculous, Bay became pinned as the big CGI Action flick Guy- Then as Fast & Furious raised the bar with its action scenes grossing over $300M and Hobbes & Shaw going bananas with Tanks, Submarines and pulling down Helicopters- and Mission Impossible going big on Action extreme- MBay has to have felt left behind and outdone. Now, on the NetFlix platform, Bay returns to regain his title of the explosion mayhem king-Taking the recipe transparently from Fast & Furious guys, we see a loose team thrown together to structure the crazy CGI effects, and add quip humor, in a movie form made to stream. You find yourself thinking what next. It's more like a ride than a movie. Story? Who cares- it's not about that. If you like tense situations involving explosions and seeing impossible things blow up, fall, and explode- all to pop rock beats. You will love this. If your looking for plots, story development, character insight, or dramatic buildup- Forget it. What is new is the adaptation of intense, cuss and testosterone fueled action movie being streamable first on Netflix. I like it as a male at 40- entertaining- but to see again for the characters, plot or chemistry? Probably not.

Venezuela Fiction, Good, Tempered by Limited chemistry
1 November 2019
No one wants a book read to em on a big screen show. But to have creative control of a great premise, the writers and direction seem to be content to keep this show constrained. It's worth a watch, but it lacks the high octane purpose of grabbing the audience, developing undercurrents to care about the people and their motivations, and intrigue that is expected for an 8 part series. Season 2 starts off ok but never gets out of 2nd gear- pc over site is injected awkwardly, and the relationships are stiff with characters you wanna care about- but don't know enough to do so. Shot in Venezuela, the scenery is Great- but have a fictional setup in story that underplays the complexity the viewer yearns for. Our Analyst grows up this season, and he becomes more independent. Watch, judge for yourself- The show is on the cusp of being great, but doesn't risk or delve out of the box enough to be a great show (hopefully Yet) imho... yet to find that special X factor or "it" to push it over to top notch status of show.

Weird state- What Happens When No Consequence
8 July 2019
If this is the avg state of High-schoolers...? We All are in Trouble. Imagine if these kids Studied? Learning is a gift. If you can't get that, then leave, try Syria, or Kenya... Another psychotic example of a young generation thinking Texting is Communication- If your range of contact and engagement is tapping quirky txts into a piece of glass... uhm, You Will Feel Empty-!? Show is Hard To like Because the Characters and situations are so bleak, Barron, and backwards... if these kids had structure from Teachers- Parents- somebody...? And were made Accountable for their action's and faced a consequence for their decisions or bad judgement- there wouldn't be time to screw-up... No redeeming value to take from this... shock & awful....

OK- PC version, of Oddities as if Mainstream
25 June 2019
A good show idea- tho it seems they are trying to push dysfunction and fractured families in London as Normal. ... a bit slow in the character development as they define gay mrrg, robot humans, germ theory, flat earth & Ukraine Tent cities and Nukes... This is All in the 1 st episode. Problem is- All these issues and politics have been going on all along, for every generation... Nixon, Clinton, Both way worse Presidents than Trump. We survived. The difference is that the information or amount of info, has never been spread so fast, and in vast quantities, among average public, and easily heightened (for ratings) - by news outlets. Always has been going on- since Roman Days, but now is in your face 24/7 as media exchange and the public, scare, then up the ante to increase more ratings. This show vassilates with the What-ifs in a scary (unknown future) manner- with narrow political tones, worst case scenarios, and families that make no sense... Y&Y has set a strange premise-- and flutes nervy, music from similar HBO show with exact score an music from 'The Leftover's'- Worth a Watch to see where this one Goes- and if they will drop the transparent political agenda, and rely on story.....

Good, Not as effective as Movie- but fun.
30 March 2019
Everything was a bit similar and plot lines are expanded. The best parts of the movie- were toned down for political reasons. Action is pretty good and levity Or humor is woven in in the right amount. The only thing I can identify as the missing ingredient keeping it from being Great- is the casting choice of the Lead (Esme) Hanna. She is supposed to be enhanced, smart, dynamic- yet exemplifies none of those qualities. No athletic, no kick ass physical prowess for someone who supposedly has been training in woods all her life. Acting is satisfactory but missed a chance to attract and draw in more empathy from wider range of viewers. All and all, worth a watch- but it may make you want to watch Hanna the movie for higher octane and intensity...

Experts- Talking Out of Their Expertise...
1 March 2019
Very Good show- Well presented. Rock on Fresh Prince... But you need to understand that some biological and science topics are missing the quals & creds to talk about some of these subjects. An Astronaut or a woman that played on Star Trek - Don't equate to being an Authority on DNA and cell generation in remote bio-cultures. Space, yes. NASA, yes... but the origin of life... mmm Nope. Knowing that premise- enjoy the show. Not knocking- just informing and defining - what I think others are low scoring this show for. Very interesting watch- MJ

I know, surprising- But just because it's not an overly marketed $100M epic, still doesn't mean it's not a good watch- Trollers will complain-no matter what- ...but it ain't a 10 either. 80% of ya/us should get something out of it- Give it a shot- it's on Netflix as of this post- Ciao- Out.
