Better Call Saul: Saul Gone (2022)
Season 6, Episode 13
10/10
Emotional farewell
8 October 2023
As others have said before me, it's hard to put into words exactly what I feel. While the series finale is a fitting end to all the storylines, it's also a bittersweet experience, because it's hard to imagine a world without Better Call Saul. It's also hard to imagine any other show coming anywhere near the quality that BCS and Breaking Bad have delivered throughout the years, and I do not say that lightly.

This final episode is something that has been meticulously built up over 6 seasons of BCS and 5 seasons of Breaking Bad. The creators have left no stones unturned to leave behind a legacy where, after the second ending, there are still no questions remaining. It is a complete story, one filled with perfect character arcs, and this final episode does everything justice. Thank you to everyone involved in making these shows, and I'll be rooting for you at the Emmy's.

The Batman (2022)

Full of unnecessary clichés
6 March 2022
I had relatively high hopes for this film, and it was promising until about the 1-hour mark. After that it was a plethora of all the clichés in the book of clichés... Unnecessary romantic plots, unnecessarily long emotional sequences and, above everything, unnecessary decisions made by the main characters. And, to top things off, the movie is 3 hours long... nah.

How I Met Your Father (2022–2023)

If you're looking for cringe...
23 January 2022
I don't think anyone had high hopes for this show, but somehow it still managed to disappoint in every regard. They should not be allowed to even allude to the title of the original as the difference between the two shows is insurmountable. I will never understand how you can call this show a 'comedy' even though 99,9% of the jokes were clearly written by someone who's never seen a TV comedy before.

Anyway, I watched the first episode which was more than enough. I suggest you do the same and make up your own mind, but you'll most likely arrive at the same conclusions.

Normal People (2020)
8/10
Brilliant, but overwhelming
5 January 2022
I don't usually write reviews for anything, but this time I think I need to. After reading the plot, I was a bit unconvinced by the show initially, but after the first episode I felt rather connected to it, so I gave it a go.

This series deals with normal people and their normal lives, but that can sometimes be difficult to watch. I guess there's a reason why Hollywood movies are usually unrealistically optimistic and why movies usually have a happy ending. This show deals with raw emotions and events, and everything is portrayed exactly as it is. I felt overwhelmed by the story at times (which is a good thing), so be prepared for that.

Completely ruined one of the best shows
28 November 2018
The entire last season was shameful, but this last episode is the cherry on top. Shame on Netflix for having ruined this otherwise excellent series.

Game of Thrones: The Winds of Winter (2016)

A spoiler-free review of the best series finale ever on TV
27 June 2016
After watching this episode, the first word that came into my mind was 'masterpiece'. This finale had everything in it that a rather slow season needed. It had action, closure and most importantly a lot of answers. Having said these, the one thing that mostly amazed me was not the plot or good writing, but the music. Watch the episode and you'll see (or rather: hear) what I'm talking about. We also got some of all the major plot lines currently happening (with the exception of one), and now that I think of it nothing was left out, maybe only one or two smaller story lines. This finale kind of reminded me of the finale of Season 4, which also left us in great anticipation, and with high expectations, but I'm absolutely certain that GoT will deliver even beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you HBO for this masterpiece!

Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards (2016)
Season 6, Episode 9
10/10
One of the most thrilling battle scenes of the show
20 June 2016
Without giving much away, I can say with absolute certainty that the battle scene of this episode is by far the most cinematographically breathtaking visual representation of a battle. All the shots are great, it becomes evident to everyone how much time and energy was invested in the making of this episode. Apart from this, there are other things happening in this one-hour long episode, which are also terribly needed for future development of the show. What may HBO have for us in the season finale? Guess we'll have to see, but in the meantime we can rest assured that every time Miguel Sapochnik directs an episode we are going to be shocked and amazed at the same time. This guy really knows his stuff!
