The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir (2014)
What can I say
If you are a deadhead like me, this documentary will possibly make you cry and you will swear it's the greatest documentary you've ever saw in your life. If you are not, you will find it intriguing, interesting and well done. I was not going to review this because I am so biased. I am a deadhead and this is the most insightful piece of work on the Grateful Dead I've seen in years. If you ever were curious about the Grateful Dead this gives the most behind the scenes look at what occurred. It certainly gives you a different version of Bobby. What a scape of a most unique band that changed history. "The omnipotent Grateful Dead."
Schitt$ Creek (2015)
Look beyond the title and give it a shot!
My brother recommended this show to me whilst I was visiting. I was first hesitant when I saw the title and that I had not heard of it, plus I'm not a big TV watcher, series, etc... But... wow! The character interaction, the cast chemistry, the dry humor, the dialog, unreal. Camera work, setting, plot, all works well. One episode, I was hooked, watched the whole series in 3 days, haven't been this hooked since Breaking Bad (and we all know how that went) This show is hilarious, ridiculous, outstanding. Keep on writing this! Bring on 5 seasons! Expand the viewing area! You hit pay-dirt! I commend the writers, producers and actors on a great show, you never know when you score, but I think you did.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)
Same thing that ruined the Matrix II, let down.
What the heck????????????? Part 1's suck!@#$@!#!@#
I was so excited to go see this movie, I loved the first one. I went the first day and waited patiently.
Pros: Neat Pirate stuff. Pretty cool. Lot of interesting scenes. It is Johnny Depp in Pirates 2, so it is cool, but it let me down. I really wanted to leave totally endorsing, but did not happen.
Cons: Too much CGI, makes it kinda cheesy and hard to keep track of at times. Too long!@#!@#!@# God it was like almost 3 hours.....which would not be so bad except for--- TO BE CONTINUED!!@#!@#@!#@!# I don't want to pay $10 to see part one of a movie that I have to wait a year to see part 2. Ridiculous. Just because its cheaper for the production company to shoot two movies at once because they are set up its very annoying to the viewer, my opinion anyway. Same disappointment I had with Matrix 2, and 3.
Aloha Bobby and Rose (1975)
My first HBO movie
It would get a 5 or 6, but it has more sentimental value to me. I saw this movie on HBO in 1976. I was 8 years old. It was the first movie on HBO I ever saw. We were one of the first people we knew to even get HBO back then. I loved the soundtrack, Elton John-Benny and the Jets, Karn Evil No. 9.. ELP. Though the plot and acting were B, the Soundtrack to Picture was pulled off well. Oh, and did I mention a HOT ROD movie? Paul LeMat does a 360 in the middle of the Sunset Strip with his race ready 67 Camaro. Its worth seeing just for that. I can remember the engine blows and he starts driving a black Vette. But the music is well choreographed with the drag racing. I think this movie propelled me into being a gearhead and drag racing. It also helped me appreciate matching a soundtrack well with a movie. Always will be a favorite of mine.
