A Merry Scottish Christmas (2023)
Definitely not the best Lacey Chabert movie.
Until I read the reviews here, I didn't know this was some reunion movie. I didn't watch Party of Five. But I watched this and it was weird to me. It's all about siblings bickering. You didn't go to my this, you didn't go to my that. So what! You are grown ups and have your own lives. He is married and trying to make a family and she is a doctor. They honestly looked and fought likes exes! The goal was to be closer siblings. There's a love story in the background and the Scottish fellow is quite handsome. I thought it was hard to believe the siblings didn't know mom was royalty. How many people live in castles? Duh. There's some Scottish traditions in here like the Winter Solstice, I thought was interesting. The ending is weird. Lacey, a doctor with her own clinic and patients gives it all up to live with her brother after he gives her a key. That's how close they wanted to be, to live together! Who would do that? Would have made more sense if for the Scottish fellow and love but no. Film had an incest like vibe to it and I thought it was creepy. Only watched for Lacey Chabert and would never watch again.
Baked with a Kiss (2022)
This is fantastic!
This is like a witchcraft story, where the lead is a witch. Customers come to buy deserts but they are also buying spells. These spells include: Sweet Success, True love, Mending and Fertility. I watched this because I am a big fan of the director Brittany Underwood. She is so multi talented and beautiful. I liked this movie more than I thought I would. It hit the spot. I looked for it on DVD, unfortunately, there isn't one. I recommend this movie as it is a good feeling and enjoyable film. I think movies with "magic"are a lot of fun. Fantasies, imagination, creativity are things I'm drawn to. And also spiritual things which I think can be applied here. Witch, Saint, Angel, the main character is definitely blessed and is blessing others.
Saving Christmas (2014)
Kirk Cameron really does save Christmas.
I think this movie is fantastic! I like his views and interpretations of the Bible. I like how he connects Christmas symbols with the Bible. This isn't a typical movie structure and it's not quite a documentary; it's a style that is original and his own. It's deep and thought provoking; I even took notes! I like his views on the manger, Santa, Christmas trees and presents. It's all about perspective: WE MAKE THINGS ABOUT GOD! It's a breath of fresh air because a lot of Christmas movies have similar storylines, such as going back to the hometown and falling in love for 90 minutes. This one is focused on Jesus and a Jesus perspective for everything. I watched it free but I bought the DVD.
