NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Extreme Prejudice (2012)
Can't get any more dumber
Poorest writing of all. Up until this episode I liked NCIS and never felt it had poor writing and then all of a sudden they write this episode and you lose your mind. You're trying to catch a most-wanted criminal and you don't go to a bar as part of an undercover operation, You bring in full force for the arrest. The script just kept stretching and stretching until the point you lose your patience and the episode has lost its suspense. How poor work of writing can this be? How can you lose your grip in writing? I wish the writing team has spent more time in giving the audience a better experience.
Taxiwaala (2018)
Let's take a crazy ride
Taxiwaala takes you on a crazy ride right from the start, which may slow down a bit post interval but will pick pace again towards the end.
The car as shown in the teaser and trailer is one of the main lead of the movie, it has a crazy color combination as well as an emotional connect.
It comprises of many elements horror, thrill, romance, comedy, emotion. All these elements are in appropriate quantities required by the storyline.
Outstanding visuals, VFX, cinematography have been a huge plus point.
Comedy has been blended nicely into the storyline, the new actor Vishnu Oi as Hollywood, Madhusudan as Babai, Chammak Chandra as thief & guard have generated ample amount of comedy with their timing.
There is horror element in the movie which has been handled properly without unnecessary ghost makeup and routine content
Overall taxiwaala is a movie you gotta go and watch which will not disappoint you for sure.
Vikram Vedha (2017)
A solid Hero vs Villian Rivalry
Even though I do not understand Tamil properly, I watched it in tamil, because I came to know that it is an excellent movie. The movie keeps you engaged which is the highest priority thing. Characterization of Vikram and Vedha and written meticulously and maximum care. Neither of them were dominating the other, but I felt the character of Vikram had a few flaws, who believes everything without prior investigation(Like Vikram managing the death of Puli, even after he was found weaponless, blindly believing Simon), but these are things possessed by the character and this analysis only comes if I liked the movie, so that shows how the director and the screenplay got you so much immersed into the movie.
The camera work is also to be mentioned, the colors chosen gives you a feel of some proper Crime Thriller. On the whole I felt that Vedha was the show stealer with his attitude, dialogue delivery, comic timing, his looks(white haired).
The movie also deals with how law and order work, like how the relation lies between a lawyer and a police and how police have to deal with laws, rules, orders which gives a feel that you're watching a proper Crime Thriller.
And not to mention the BGM by Sam which was superb.
No unnecessary fights, jumps, dialogues, scenes. The movie has an apt runtime.
I started to admire Vijay Sethupathi after this movie
The Dark Knight (2008)
One man's show - The Joker
I always liked Christopher Nolan's movies, which has twisted and convoluted screenplays. But coming to the Dark Knight, it was the Joker whole stole the show, however it is the greatness of Nolan's pen that has carved out this marvelous character.
The character of the Joker is written with too much detailing and had a versatile attitude, his walk, talk, laugh, anger all these things had a lot of depth in it. The potrayal of his monopoly actions was written superb.
Not only the character of the Joker, but also few other characters like Harvey Dent, Alfred are also written well.
On the whole, it a perfect action thriller with villian dominance
Mahanati (2018)
Perfection at its best, Outstanding performances and direction.
I am actually blessed to witness the greatness of the Great Savitri garu, kudos the technical team - direction, background score, camera work, design, costumes, artwork, who have done and splendid job and they can actually be proud of their work.
Coming to the performances - The lead actress, I would like to address her as Keerthi Suresh garu, she just lived into the role of Savitri and will surely keep the audiences attached to their seats for the whole movie with her spellbound performance.
Dulquer Salman as Gemini Ganesan was very graceful and had done a fine performance.
Special mention to Samanta for her performance.
In the end I really felt why Savitri Garu is considered as the Epitome of not only acting but everything and Director Nag Ashwin has chosen the best way to visualize her greatness. Moreover Congrats to Swapna Cinema for presenting us this Epicness.
I hope this movie receives proper recognition in the form of awards.
