Supernatural: Inherit the Earth (2020)
Season 15, Episode 19

It's not as bad as others say. But it was rushed.

Warning: Spoilers
First, to say that episode ruined the whole show is way too dramatic. This episode just needed better buildup and pacing. The outcome of Jack and the way they beat Chuck was a good switch, but it definitely needed buildup. To me, Jack basically making Chuck human makes perfect sense. Not only is it Karma but several characters kept repeating over the season that killing Chuck or trapping him has too many consequences, so this outcome makes for a good ending for Chuck's story. The problem is that they solved it in one episode. I think they could've been building on Jack being a power vacuum for while, and it would've made the episode a lot better. Not sure if it's because of the Pandemic or because of a few too many filler episodes, but this episode needed some changes with its pace. I get why this episode is more of a season finale and I don't think it deserves a 1/2 or anything crazy like that. I think people were expecting a super epic battle with god, but it felt clear to me, that that wasn't going to be Chuck's ending. Some real buildup to their plan would've completely fixed it for me and I'm definitely still looking forward to the finale.

Wonderful and Real

This show is fun yet portrays real issues with Latinx businesses and struggles in America. Not to mention, the values of family and community are heartwarming to see. Neighborhoods across the nation can relate to the stories told in the show so I hope for a season 2 and for more shows like this on Netflix. Gentrification is real and has taken over cities like LA. Don't ride this show off as "hating white people" because it doesn't. Don't confuse criticism and commentary with hate. Anyone can enjoy this show for the stories being told. Gentefied establishes a great commentary while staying familiar and realistic.
