Charlie's Angels (2019)
Nothing wrong with the movie itself
I'm one of those "Angry white men" LOL...
The only problem with the movie was probably Miss Banks's coment about "Men don't like female heroes on screen" Which is utter BS as I still remember Aliens fondly to name just one.
No I do not think this was a reboot now after having watched the movie.
Kristen may not be on my golden list of actors but even she did at least an adequate job here.
Naomi Scott shined with her talent here as usual, Balinska was an unknown to me but serious like here also.
There might be SOME overdoing things here and there but nothing truly serious.
Only thing I may disapprove of was *Spoliers* Patrick Stewart' character getting the bad guy status.
And dear feminazis... Don't try to help this movie as you're not helping...
Continuum (2012)
What good is bad and what is bad is good.
I looved this series it presents the viewer with questions of morality of what is good and what is bad and shows that there is no clear cut way to identify either.
I warmly recomend this series.
The Orville: Identity, Part II (2019)
Best episode yet
The Kaylon a "species" or androids that rival the Cylons and Skynet in sheer genocidal behaviour but with the range of emotions like the Borg is now the enemy of the Union.
This series just keep getting better and better I see great things for "The Orville" in the future.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Watchable despite a few canonical errors.
First and most major error was the name Solo, he wasn't "given" it as some kind of "John Doe" as the name Solo is/was an ancient roual dynasty that once ruled Corellia the only reason I can figure they went with the "John Doe" version is most likley Disney/Kathleen Kennedy arrogance against real canon seemingly just to annoy fans even more.
The second major error is how Han and Chewie met, real canon states Han (Being an imperial officer at the time and not kicked out yet) rescued Chewbacca from slavery and doing so was what got him kicked out of the Imperial Navy.
These errors can be easily edited to better fit Star Wars canon.
But despite all that a watchable movie that just had the misfortune of ending up in the crossfire when Disney and Kennedy decided on challenging the fans over understood Star Wars best and flopped.
Definitely a bunch of Disney/SJW bots that are the reason to the high score this film has gotten.
The Mummy (2017)
Another underestimated movie
Sad that there probably won't be anymore movies in this "franchise" (Dark Universe) as this movie despite a couple of negligable flaws.
Hope they do continue the Dark Universe franchise.
For the first time though I actually feel really sorry for the mummy.
And also Doctor Jekyl and Mister Hyde was played excellently by Russel Crowe.
With so much truly crappy movies and series out there why this one has gotten such bad critique (Like Disney's Star Wars disasters) that was given sterling critical reception... I guess only Disney can afford "good" critics.
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
Great sequel despite some hiccups.
This movie was really good despite some hiccups.
No Will Smith was one and another was Goldblum's character remained childless (I thought he got back together with his ex wife?) was annoying but all in all it makes it easier to concentrate on the new characters and older characters that have since the first movie grown up.
Chris Hemsworth's baby brother got a role was okay but not much hero material.
Really liked how Bill Pullman's character does a Tassadar in the end.
I see some people didn't like it but hey at least it was better than the Disney Star Wars movies we've been having (Small feat).
Totally deserves a third installment.
I couldn't care less what the so called "critics" think of it.
Lucifer (2016)
FOX has done it again!
FOX seems to have an annoying tendency to axe good shows for no real reason other than pissing people off.
Though I hope for renewal prefferably at a more competent studio than FOX but right now it seems like Lucifer has joined the ever growing list of good shows cancelled by FOX...
FOX keep doing this BS to every promising show.
Let's hope that Netflix of some other more serious network can pick it up for another season at least.
The Purge (2013)
The one "Crime" the creators never thought about.
If any crime was allowed then what's to stop for example Southerners from banding together preparing and then basically secceeding by force during the "Purge" or at least start wiping out their opposition in the states in question?
Or why not extrem racist groups like KKK and BLM going all psycho with their objects of hate?
The UNited States of AMerica would in essence risk to sieze to exist.
Star Wars Rebels (2014)
Now this IS Star Wars
Anyone that still loves Star Wars I can warmly recomend this series.
Unlike the "sequel" fiasco this show keeps true to the legacy of George Lucas.
The characters are well written and the voice acting is superb, the heroes face adversity that they have to overcome and actually have to WORK for it and not allways it is a sure victory.
Many hillarious and emotional moments.
Thank you Dave Filoni for keeping the Star Wars torch alive.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Thank you Disney... for burying the greatest franchise of our time!
I thought that TFA was the worst movie ever made...
I was wrong THIS is the worst movie ever made.
Pointless Plotpoints and plotholes war for dominance in this so called "masterpiece".
Had this ben made in the 70s or even 80s it would have been buried as a B or even a C move.
The writing is not even substandard and basically retarded.
Whatever plot was established in the first reboot (TFA) was completely ignored.
Luke Skywalker was totally ruined as a character and of course Rey was even more of a Mary Sue which was hardly a surprise considering the political agenda of Kathleen Kennedy...
And the Resistance (white guy) pilot ace gets reprimanded for saving what's left of the fleet from being bombarded into oblivion (Using really weird bombers with bombs that defy all realistic thinking)
The casino scene was nothing more than a total drag and seemingly only meant to fill out movie time.
And that dumb scene with Rose saying that line to Finn (Basically demoting his character even further down) was just too stupid to even mention.
The only reason this movie has such a following (Despite logical thought on the matter) is because it is named Star Wars otherwise it would have bombed.
The critics who give sterling reviews on this are obviously bought and paid for.
The only one that could potentially salvage the franchise is Dave Filoni (As if that would ever happen)
I'm done having my hopes for the salvation of this franchise.
The Orville (2017)
Awesome
I've only seen three episodes so far but the series have already grown on me.
Like Star Trek but more personality.
And Seth McFarlane who also played a Ensign Rivers on Star Trek Enterprise so he does have some experience at this, really shined in this series that is not a parody as one might first think but just a little more personality driven show.
Just one thing it is owned by FOX (FOX being kinda trigger-happy with the cancel "button") so I'll be holding back the bubbly until season 1 finale at least.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Predictable very predictable
I'll be nice and give this movie a "2" rating.
The movie was highly predictable, it had little if any originality.
That Disney screwed over the EU for this is beyond me other than for capitalistic reasons of course.
I refuse to even call this real Star Wars as it has very little to do with Star Wars, let it simply be a remake for that is what it really is - So I will simply not call it a Star Wars movie other than in name only.
I saw the movie with a large portion of nostalgia with some hope on the side.
It feels just like when Bethesda ruined the Fallout franchise by rewriting the canon of that franchise.
So now have Disney done to Star Wars but just like with Fallout franchise I do not have to recognize this Disney Star Wars.
In my as well as most ADULT fans's opinion, Star Wars is now a dead franchise or at the very least dying...Let it die.
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
Another predictable Vampire story
Not as bad as Twilight (The last movie really sucked) but still very predictable, First time I saw this show I knew that bimbo Elena would become a vampire eventually.
It has become totally cliché with these vampire TV and movies nowadays.
That's why I liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer true she fell in love with two vampires but that show was still superior and it had way more depth.
How people keep falling for all these Pro-Vampire shows/Movies is beyond me.
But I guess there is some morbid charm in the girl (allways some moronic girl for some reason?) that meet and fall in love with some undead bloodsucker.
Why can't script writers come up with some originality for once?
Mr. Merlin (1981)
Loved this
I was barely five years old when I watched the few episodes they aired in Sweden but I remember loving it and since my parents recorded it on our old VCR (REALLY old like double sided cassettes old) so I could keep watching it growing up and it did ironically help me learn English that much earlier. It was hilarious with how Zac usually messed things up learning from Merlin the Sorcerer while at the same time trying to keep it a secret.
Sad it only went for one season though.
Could have been more or possibly they could try and do a reboot?
A real golden series that takes me back decades.
Our Lady of Lourdes (2013)
Good acting
The acting was very good and spot on.
Not many movies or stories can do it but this movie and its story made me actually cry.
Naomi Scott is perfect in her role which she portrays excellently. And Lech Dyblik is fantastic as well even Moran is good.
I thought this movie had been canceled for lack of money but I was happily wrong.
To those that have yet to see this masterpiece I recommend you stock up on tissues for this one is a real (spoiler alert) tear gusher (Even for us bad-asses).
I warmly recommend this film.
The 100 (2014)
Watchable despite all these plot holes
This show is so full of plot holes I don't even know where to begin, The mountain people get sick as soon as they even smell real air, It doesn't take only 97 or so years for immune systems to degrade that seriously, neither does the high radiation tolerance of the Ark and Grounder peoples sound very realistic either.
Though the savage militaristic culture of the Grounders can be more easily explained.
AND the harshness of the Ark leadership as well.
Some of the plot holes were barely explained until in the middle of the second season.
I can see some really good copying from at least the original Fallout games in this series.
But all in all despite all the plot holes it is a good series if only the scriptwriters start taking their jobs more seriously, the story is good though they should have had at least a couple of centuries more to the time line, but it is still a watchable series.
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014)
How can people even watch this garbage??
How much bad writing are people going to be stupid enough before they are fed up with this garbage?? I saw the first and second movies reluctantly....very reluctantly, And my professional opinion are they're garbage, every sequel is practically a clone of the one before and each movie is worse than the one before. The acting is below substandard and the writing...
well the less I say the better about that. Enough is enough please let this be the last.
Why not make real actual movies that even us intellectuals can appreciate?
Revolution (2012)
At LEAST made by a competent company
Well at least it wasn't made by FOX so maybe it has a chance of making it to a season 2, though that about electricity being totally no no is a bit of a plot hole since electricity can be easily produced with all but the most basic technology. And about those rebels wanting to recreate the USA I have only this to say:YANKEE DOODLE DO! He he why not the Confederate states of America while they're at it as well? But all in all I think it may have potential IF they manage to iron out the plot a little more admittedly I still haven't seen all of season 1 but I intend to, but I still think the rebels (Patriots can be so childish sometimes) are just a bunch of morons dreaming of past glories.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (2012)
Undead Franchise
Another spin off to an already DEAD franchise! I mean TAKE A HINT people you practically killed the franchise off with the remake off the series instead off continuing the original story! so PLEASE let it rest in peace! This is nothing more then money making of course the clueless fans does NOT seem to understand this at all as long as they get the special effects! The story is already done with everyone already know what is going to happen! Plus there is no originality in this re imagined version it looks more like a crossover between Twin Peaks,Real BSG and lost in space(WITHOUT the humor)! Sadly this has been done before to the Star Trek franchise starting with TNG which was little more then a total failure though Enterprise was a valiant attempt at salvaging the franchise even though it ultimately failed as well! The makers off Babylon 5 at least made a story that had a beginning a middle and an ending though various spin off's was attempted failed and simply put to rest!
Terra Nova (2011)
Best show ever!
I saw the series and I think it has real potential unlike most other sci fi series they try to do as little CG as possible which makes it a lot more realistic which is good but expensive! The story is extremely good between the various characters and the actors do a excellent job portraying them! I managed the first season of BSG which was among the worst sci fi I've seen in my life and that mediocre(however well played) they allowed for at least 3 seasons(I wanted to throw myself off a cliff after the first season)! Too bad Fox could'nt give Terra Nova a second season though I've read the creators are trying to get other networks to do it well all I can do is hope for the best I guess!
I also saw the bashing of this show, mostly by people who didn't even watch it, people who had nothing better to do than bashing this series.
Childish!
