Narcos: Descenso (2015)
Homecoming
One of the realist visual releases of a globalised criminal is presented to Netflix in style. We immediately care for this timid yet volatile man, shaped by the experiences accumulated by crawling out from the slums of Colombia. This series takes on what we have successfully seen many times before, having the protagonist convert into the antagonist creating a more exciting piece with the inclusion of factual history. This series is similar to HBO's The Wire in that it rewards you for paying attention to detail and the elements of realism mixed with the creative methods that these real people created in order obtain such an illegal goal is truly mesmerising. The bridge scene reminds us of how powerful Pablo Escobar really was and that this is not just about the distribution of cocaine but the laborious man work and obstacles that would inevitably come with. A truly real piece of art that was well researched, written and visualised!

Problem Solvers
In this episode "University" the cocky made man, Ralph has an affair with a stripper who he accidentally knocks up and is forced to deal with the consequences of. Rather harshly. Meadow's dorm roommate goes berserk due to Meadow and Noah's close bond.
The contrast in this episode is between Tracee the stripper and Caitlin, Meadow's roommate. Tony and Meadow are put in positions that mirror one another. They are forced to confront a similar situation about a woman they barely know. In this episode Tracee and Caitlin are seen as symbols of conflict in which our main characters are put to the moral test by. Ralph and Noah are unlike each other but what the writers do brilliantly is have these two characters share a common trait. Ralph's explosive confidence and Noah's timid, selfishness leads them to believe that some circumstances need to be dealt with quickly and without taking up too much consideration. What works best for both of them will be what ultimately defines their conclusion of a situation. Ralph slaughters the stripper and Noah breaks up with Meadow. This causes an array of distress for both Tony and Meadow. Tracee seeks deliverence from her problem by addressing it too Tony and Tony is too late to comply with. Meadow is left feeling heartbroken due to a problem that wasn't even in her power to address.
Kingdom: Traveling Alone (2015)
Full Circle
These characters don't limit themselves to one aspect or emotion, typically tiring out a series. Every character has emotional baggage. Most characters fizzle out when they figure out their front lining flaw. But these fictional characters are so articulate in speaking about themselves that makes us seem they are their own worst enemy and in reality this is how we really are.
Chernobyl: 1:23:45 (2019)
Climbing the Ladder, Blind
HBO'S most diverse, sentimental and disturbed show to date. Chernobyl. The opening episode of this mini series conveys the catastrophic event through many perspectives, how it should be told. Each of these characters represent and occupation that gets ultimately tested by one's own willingness to survive.
"What is the Cost of Lies?" The central theme of the episode and show. How we can learn from this is that, you are free to choose, but you are not free to choose the consequences of your choice.
