One Piece: Wan pîsu (1999)
One of the best things to ever happen to me
I wish I could put into words the love and adoration I have for this show. I tried to write a review months ago when I first finished but I just couldn't articulate my thoughts. I still feel like this isn't good enough but it'll suffice:
I literally blew through like 1,041 episodes in 3 months and then started over again. It is not only my favorite show ever, but watching it is in the top 3 best decisions I've ever made in my life. Watching this changed who I am and the way I think. It helped me when I was struggling with alcohol. It helped me take risks in my life. I wish I could meet Oda, and his assistants and the producers and the voice actors to thank them individually for creating the best story to ever exist. Watching it is like going on an adventure without taking a step out of your house. It will bring out every emotion in you, but the one that shines through is joy. If you're thinking about watching, I'm telling you now, stop thinking, and just watch.
Thank you, Oda. Your creativity and story-telling ability is unmatched. You are god's gift to mankind.
The Witcher (2019)
7 for now
As others have said, it's pretty confusing. I feel like this show expects you to know the background-what's going on with the characters, their abilities, who they have relationships with and etc- but that's really not practical. I'm hoping Netflix takes the reviews into consideration come season 2; they need to explain in a lot more detail.
That being said, I loved playing the Witcher 3 and the show reminds me quite a bit of it. Many of the characters are perfectly fit for their roles. The CGI is great. I will watch season 2 but if it's as hectic and complex as s1, I honestly doubt the show will succeed.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
Y'all are so mad lmao
Definitely a little heavy-handed on the politics but I'm glad they incorporated this episode highlighting the injustice in law enforcement on a show about law enforcement. The 1-star reviews talking about "too real" "politics and tv shows should be separate!" What? Since when has politics been absent from television? It's almost like the commenters are just angry with the message.
Parks and Recreation: Moving Up: Part 2 (2014)
I love Mona-Lisa Saperstein
This episode was always sweet and fulfilling and emotional. The producer's cut is even better. Love Mona-Lisa that crazy ass bit**.
New Girl (2011)
God I love this
This show, out of the borderline ridiculous amount of shows I have seen, is the first one I've ever reviewed. To put it simply, it's hilarious, has wonderful relationships, and a diverse cast and characters. It flows very naturally and the main character is a woman who I admire in real life. Her character carries the show and portrays a strong and smart woman who is everything I wish I could be. I've seen this show too many times. Just watch it to completion.
The Good Place (2016)
Have I ever written a review on IMDB? I don't think so. This one deserves it.
Stop taking shows so seriously. Of course it isn't realistic but it is meaningful. It's funny, heartwarming and addictive. I've watched it probably 6 times and i will watch it more. I'm sad it's coming to an end but happy that it's finishing on the creators terms. Thank you, Michael Schur, for being apart of so many white comedies that adhere to different races, sexualities, and all kinds of people. This show is hilarious and heart-warming. Can't wait for season four!
