Oppenheimer (I) (2023)

Great movie but...

Watching the trailer and Nolan's previous movies you would believe Oppenheimer is again a great movie with lots of action sequences and tension. However about 80% of the time there is just talking, discussing and investigating. The story is more about Oppenheimer 's life and believes then about building a nuclear bomb.

Cillian Murphy shows he can absolutely play a leading roll and is absolutely brilliant. So I would recommend this movie but it's not about action it's more about his life. You can watch it on IMAX but due to missing action sequences you can see it on any screen.

Nolan again proves he can make convincing movies with a great story.

Zillion (2022)

Great movie about Zillion and the rise and fall of Verstraeten

Really great and entertaining biopic about the rise and fall of Zillion one of the most famous disco's in the '90 in Antwerp. The life of Frank Verstraeten is so amazing that the real question remains what was real and was was written for this movie adaptation. Great music from the '90 and absolutely terrific performance of Matteo Simoni as Dennis Black Magic. Also Jonas Vermeulen (starting as Frank Verstraeten) has his first major roll and plays an entertaining/crazy Frank. Must-see if you like music from the '90. It's a bit like a flemish Scorsese-film or kind of a Wolf of Wall Street film about disco in these wonderful years (1997-2002). Robin Pront really shows he has the maturity to grow even further and make great & entertaining movies for the crowd.

Rebel (2022)

Great movie

This is the fifth movie from directors Adil & Bilall. Unfortunately they got their Batgirl movie cancelled. This is their most personal movie to date. It's clear they have done their utmost best to give a nice look into the world of IS-fighters, fighting a grime, heavy battle in Syria against Assad. The movie is raw, realistic, has some great fighting seens but the acting performances of the cast are really great. It's not a typical action movie, but an intense graphic view on the lives of IS-fighters from Belgium. Some very emotional scenes are cast as musical scenes with great music. Go and check out for yourselves.

Cool Flemish action movie. Expect over the top action sequences. Also a lot of humor. Great acting debute of word famous dj Dimitri Vegas. Ben Segers performance is stunning, Go and discover the city of Antwerp in a way you have never seen before.

Standard flemish horror movie. Nice photography in the woods and some nice acting. Some nice gory bloody scenes as well. If you liked Welp or Yummy you will probably like this movie also.

Impressive directional debut from Perceval. Ben Segers acting is solid and he shows he can do a lot more then playing a comedian. I can not wait for the next movie of Perceval.

Nice and charming Flemish movie about two friends hiring 'top' professional people to make a love story on a boat. Or on a ship. It depends how you see it. A lot of famous Flemish actors play a part in this sweet, funny comedy about love and friendship.

Ad Astra (2019)

Watch the trailer it's better than the movie

If you watch the trailer you expect a sc-fi epos with lots of action sequences. However the movie is a drama in space for a search for a father who has been absent for many years. The movie focuses on the difficult relation between father and son. Do not expect a movie like Interstallar, it's just a dull movie with an ending so predictable.

1 thing is good: Brad Pitt is acting quite good!

After Earth (2013)

Better then expected

Reading the reviews on IMDb it would seem like After Earth is a terrible movie. I saw the movie last night and I really really do not understand why everybody is against this movie. Will Smith is seen during the entire movie, he still plays an important character.

The story is innovative, Original and a welcome in all the sequels. A Must see for all SF-fans!

Direction by Night Shyamalan is well done, very nice special effects, some drama & some thrills.

Do not led you be guided by all the negative reviews, go & see the movie. If you liked Oblivion, you will also like After Earth.
