Wrath of Man (2021)
Painting by Numbers for Statham and Ritchie
This really seems like somebody needed a bit of a payday and really did not put their heart into it.
Grim as hell, no humour, no pace, no plot twists other than death and despair.
Feels like a film school parody of a Guy Ritchie film made by a manic depressive.
Preacher: Sundowner (2016)
this episode is where the story comes to life
After a a somewhat slow first few episodes, this is where it really comes to life. It is worth sitting patiently through the previous episodes to get here. The last 15 minutes of ep5 and the lead into ep6 is as if the shackles have been released. The pace picks up and the various story threads combine to explode the whole thing forward.
(Fans of the comics will have to suspend their plot expectations still though).
Tulip finally comes forward with some detail, the Angels are explained, Jesse proves useful once again, blood and gore abound.
In the end, the Preacher's new found confidence is rocked by a new understanding of the power he wields.
