Hitch (2005)
The Rom-Com you cannot miss
If "Hitch" has been one of those movies which has sitting in your Watchlist for a while or if you're just one of those who has no idea what's good on Netflix, well then there's no need to give it a second thought. Hitch is the definition of how funny and enjoyable Rom-Com should look like-- without regarding your age or gender. The script is funny, original and plus it goes smoothly with the flow of the entire film. As for the plot, it can definitely be labeled as something engaging for that it places you in the shoes of most of the characters with their different perspectives in life. In short it takes you through an interesting part of both cupid's and the target's life showing you how several humane mistakes can play to your advantage and disadvantage as well. No matter if you're alone or with someone else, if you wanna laugh, sigh, and close your day with a smile, this movie is the right one for you.
Metropolis (1927)
The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must be the Heart
Oh! I loved this movie so much that I don't even know where to start! The fact that Metropolis was produced on the 20's didn't give me high hopes at first. However, the perfect coordination of an in-depth meaning and photography, soundtrack and motion, and most important of all, the impacting expression of strong emotions towards the crude reality of capitalism, left me more speechless than the movie itself! It is totally worth watching and do not mind the length--it will not matter if you get enrolled by the message. Should we leave capitalism do its "magic" where surplus is squeezed on a few hands thanks to the undermined labor? Should be break the system and ask for revolution? Or should we find a mediator, a heart, between head and hands? We are still nine years away from 2026. Now it is on us to compare how different is Metropolis' version of the system from our current social and economic inequality and maybe that way, we can find the correct answer to all of these questions.
Scarface (1983)
The world is yours
The perfect example of what a covetous fellow from a hard working middle class family can do with power. "Scarface" takes you to another level where you can witness the whole process from an emptied pocket Cuban who in a dime turns into one of the most powerful men of America. The dark side of the dream you always fought for... Both sides of the coin are shown: Sit and wait until death arrives or go and reach your goal before it's too late. But "be careful what you wish for". Either you relax and enjoy the movie or pause a little to reflect how dangerous greed could be. Believe me if you want to learn something from life itself just watch "Scarface" and don't you dare to blink because every scene will be just remarkable.
The Bridges of Madison County (1995)
One of the deepest movies ever
One of the best movies I have ever seen... Bridges of Madison County is not only for those who are having a hard time in their lives or are in a critical situation of unhappiness, it is the perfect example of someone who falls in love but is hit by the "reality" which we all are used to live in. It made me weep (Although I'm not a crying person honestly), laugh, sigh and wonder why people prefer not to take risks and stay instead right into their comfort zone. If you love Meryl Streep or Clint Eastwood you won't be disappointed and by now I can only tell you that you will for sure enjoy this movie, as I did for the third time. Just stop reading and watch it now, you won't regret it...
