An error has ocurred. Please try againWant to keep your children away from such things as well? Sometimes it's quite blatant and in your face, while at other times it quite subtle and designed to get into the minds of people, often targeting children and teens, disguised as something else altogether.
Well, check out this list to find something that has already been vetted and determined to be free of such nonsense. I will try to keep this list to newer movies as good older movies are easier to find. I'm not perfect, sometimes I get fooled like everyone else, but I do my best to be on alert for it and share the films that pass the muster with my friends, and now you, too.

Who Is Erin Carter?: Episode #1.4 (2023)
Girlpower Nonsense Becoming Very Tiresome
All this 'girlpower' nonsense is getting very tiresome by the fourth episode. No matter how skilled this 100lb woman is, there's no way she can take on the average man, let alone a very fit trained fighter who outweighs her by 100lbs. It's just ridiculous. The amount of eyerolls this is generating from everyone watching is really detracting from the entire show. If they just kept it a bit closer to the realm of reality, it could be a much better show. You know, if she stabs a guy in the eyeball with something, any man would feel that and that might give her the upper-hand in one particular fight, but she'd still end up in the hospital for six months from the beating she got. That, I cold go along with, not any of this nonsense. I'll try to keep watching, but what's next, leaping ten feet into the air?
The Creator (2023)
Pretty Good Sci-Fi
I've seen a lot of human vs robot movies and many of those are about the possibility of sentient robots and whether or not they constitute living beings or not and these movies are usually interesting in one way or another with certain plot twists or specific questions of existence etc., but I feel that this movie is tapping into the global communist movement to incorporate humans and tech, their so-called 'Fourth Industrial Revolution' and eventually we will have to come to terms with the question, "Where does the human end and the tech start?" or, how much of a human can be replaced by tech before they are no longer human? What happens if you yourself are in an accident, for example, and lose your arms and legs and have them replaced by tech, maybe your liver, too... maybe your heart... how much tech could it take until you are not a human anymore... what if your brain could be copied and replaced? Or when is AI no longer mimicking human thinking, feelings, and emotions but having its own independent thoughts and will these be considered sentient beings and we their gods, or are they still machines? In this movie you see people struggling with this as some say they're merely machines no different than a TV, and others feel for these machines and believe them to be sentient. One part of the world has deemed AI a threat while another part of the world has embraced AI.
The Host (2013)
I love this movie.
I find it strange that this movie has a low rating. I really like it a lot. It's one of those movies that sticks in my mind for years afterwards for some reason. I just rewatched it again after many years of small pieces of it popping up into my consciousness here and there. I had forgotten all of the in-between story points. I think I like it better this time around than the first time I watched it. I can't believe it has been TEN years since it was made. Really good sci-fi movie, very interesting concept and not predictable as so many movies are these days. Lots of things to think about with the story-line, morals, values, cultural differences, etc.

Really Good Near-Future B-Sci-Fi
I enjoyed it. For me, it was entirely consistent in story, acting, pacing, etc. For the type of movie this is, I didn't see anything wrong with it at all. I could totally see something like this happening in the near future, such as with people going all over the place installing 5G tech as the 5G signal is only good for 500 meters (1200ft), so they're literally talking about installing a 5G transmitter/receiver in every second lamp post on the street. So, it's not so far fetched. I was wondering just how far they could get before they ran out of cable, but the solution to that was so obvious I should have thought of that right away. I have literally been hiking to places where people have laid pipes from lakes or waterfalls or streams in the mountains down the hill to civilization, and sometimes there are so many pipes that have been laid over the years that there are pipes on top of pipes on top of more pipes with 100 year old trees grown up over these pipes... nearly rusted away iron pipes then rubber ones, then plastic ones... really reminds me of this movie -- even 100 years ago there were people hauling spools of pipe many kilometres long through the woods to get water, so laying quantum cable is not so far fetched. I enjoyed all of the acting -- usually in budget movies you get some pretty crappy acting, but everyone was really good in this movie. Some people felt there was some political messaging going on, but there really wasn't much; at least for me, they weren't beating the viewer over the head with it like they do in some other movies that totally detract from the rest of the film. Also, there wasn't any violence, swearing (that I remember), nudity, etc. -- which most B-movies throw in there in abundance.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
Another Good One With Much Underneath
23:45 her little speech about how he doesn't have sex with her for weeks, doesn't kiss her, do the little thing like touch her shoulder, etc., well, it's very ironic, isn't it, and very much like the pot calling the kettle black, because EVERY guy I know has complained about how his wife or girlfriend won't have sex with him anymore, at least not until he basically pesters her for it for weeks then she finally is like, oh, okay, I'll do it if you just stop pestering me about it, and she has every excuse in the book as to why she won't have sex with him, tired, just washed hair, just had shower, got to get up early, on period, not feeling well, not feeling like it, just painted nails, 'why you always wanting sex' (even though they only do it once a month now), too much on her mind, or whatever, she doesn't need an excuse. How many married guys do I know that tell me they haven't had sex with their wife for many many years -- nearly all of them, and some even have their own separate bedroom to their wives because what's the point of sleeping with a roommate who has zero sexual interest in you? Right? Ah, so, then, what is this episode about? Maybe it's about how women in relationships are always dreaming of other guys -- the grass is always greener somewhere else... there's always something better... they just can't get this idea out of their head. Women will divorce their husband simply because they think they can do better, then... wow, they get a serious dose of reality when they can't even get a date because all the guys out there know her game and they're dtf and nothing else. The woman in this episode has been SO used to her husband wanting to get down with her all the time and always pushing him away and wanting to only have sex on her own terms, when SHE wants to have it, then suddenly the roles are reversed, he's not interested and her fragile ego gets all bent out of shape and after only two weeks she just can't take it anymore. Man, I know guys who have been putting up with this kind of behaviour from their woman for decades, and after only two weeks she falls to pieces. THIS is the abuse women to do men, either consciously or subconsciously, it doesn't matter, it's still very common. So, what does she do, she threatens him, telling him that she could go out and do 'whatever', you know, sleep with any man, she still has options. Wow, just for saying that, I'd divorce her, that is some seriously sick and disgusting evil stuff to say to your husband just because he doesn't want to have sex with you for two weeks. Wow. Vicious and hurtful. Incredible, really, but I'm sure the writer was drawing from his own experience. So, why does she want to have sex anyway? Most women don't, so why? Because she wants another child. She's forcing him to have sex with her on her fertility schedule so she can get pregnant again, yet, at dinner, she says she wants passion, but no, that's not it, she just wants him to impregnate her. So, yeah, she lied.
Regarding the online 'relationship' the guys have... well, it is fantasy -- is it much different than women reading their romance novels and rubbing one off thinking of their co-worker while their husband, the one they won't have sex with, is sleeping there right next to them? Naw, it's the same, this is merely a high tech version -- women do a lot of sexting etc..
It was interesting that they were both Asian in the game. As it should be as the game was likely made in Japan.
Regarding the ending, I say, wtf?! So, it was decided that what he was doing was the equivalent to cheating?! So, she goes out to hook up with a random guy once a year on his birthday and he gets to go on his video game? Come on. Is that really the same thing? Well, I guess in a woman's world, getting more makes it even. She even got a the baby she wanted.
Anyway, love Anthony Mackie, especially in Altered Carbon, great show.
Spell (2020)
Really Good Movie For The Horror Genre
If you're are looking to watch a good low budget horror movie, check this one out. It's really well done. Was good fun to watch!
It didn't take long until I thought, "Hm... did Jordan Peele make this movie?" because the entire movie is pretty much all actors of African descent, but I put that thought aside and kept watching hoping someone wasn't being a copy-cat. Turns out that having all African American characters makes sense in the story, so that's good. Would have been ridiculous if they just replaced a set of diverse characters with people of African descent for no other reason than to cast actors of African descent, you know, like Peele does, as he thinks he's never seen an African American in the lead role in a movie before, duh. What he should really be doing is casting some Asians, Indians... or anybody else. Other than Bruce Lee, name an Asian lead in a movie you've seen recently, or a Native American, or... I digress.
Usually, with most movies like this, the characters do totally irrational stupid things that don't make any sense and you're screaming at the screen, "You idiot! Why on earth would anyone do that??!!" because the writing is so bad, they make the characters do things nobody would every do merely to move the story in a certain direction. Fortunately, the writing in this film is pretty solid. There was only one time in the movie where there was a situation where someone, for example, but not giving anything away, was tied and gagged and trying to make a noise of some kind to save their life... well... they could have just banged their head on something nearby and that would have made enough noise, but they didn't do that. But, other than that one thing, there wasn't anything else like that which annoyed us.
There were some really good horror moments in this movie. Some made us go, "Aaah~! Uuug~!". Hardwick did a really good job at acting in this, and so did Devine. I recommend it!
PS, when I give stars, I'm not comparing this movie to Avatar, I'm comparing it to others of the same category/genre/budget.
The Strays (2023)
My "Spoilers" Will Not Spoil; They Will Benefit You
Okay, so I watched this not knowing anything more than the write-up. I thought, this might be about vampires, or supernatural beings, or a cult member that escaped but they've finally found her...
A woman is on the phone with perhaps her mother, she doesn't like how her life has ended up. The person on the phone says, 'well, that's the way life is, not everything is all roses all the time. You have to live with what you're dealt.' So, she leaves home, never to return.
Fast forward many years later, and she has reinvented herself. Although it has been many many years, she still has to look herself in the mirror every day and put on 'the act' of being someone else. I think after 16 years I would have found myself quite comfortable in my new life, with wealth, a husband and children, good job, community standing, etc.. But no, she's still paranoid that someone will find out. She wears makeup and wigs -- the wigs become more and more itchy as she becomes more and more paranoid that... someone will find out, or... that something will happen... okay, maybe she's an alien under that wig? Or something...?
So... okay, well, maybe she didn't just leave her previous life... maybe there really was an alien, cult, or something, we'll find out.
So, every day, the movie builds up more and more suspense, as something is going to happen... something is going to happen... then another day... and nothing happens and still... nothing happens, but the suspense is building and building... finally halfway through the movie, we hit pause and looked at each other, "WTF. When is some thing going to happen? What on earth is this movie about?"
Okay, we continue, and finally she spots someone... someone is stalking her... she sees glimpses of them from time to time... across the street, outside the window... nobody else sees them... Okay, so maybe this is some kind of paranormal stuff... then... then we meet the stalkers... a man and woman... they're renting a local hotel room and stalking the family, and they get to know their children. They have a very nefarious intent, they seem like they're planning to kill her teenage kids or something... and... and... then... they don't... they seemed like they were going to kill them after befriending them, but they didn't... huh??
Okay, so these stalkers decide to crash the woman's fundraising party. The woman sees them in the crowd and freaks out, wants to know what kind of game they're playing... they scream out that they're her children. Huh? OOoooh, when she left her previous life, she also left her children behind, and now they're adults. So... okay... what's with all the stalking and murderous intent stuff all about??
They meet at a cafe to talk, the woman is acting very weird, paranoid, etc. And offers them a cheque for 10G, to help them out, and hopefully for them to go away and they can talk another day, and she's sorry etc.. Her adult children are very murderously angry and acting like psycho killers, for the entire movie thus far... so what did the woman do to them? Turns out, she just left. Then ended up with their aunt, then eventually foster care, and... ...that's it... now they are psycho killers. They go away saying 'thank you' in a very insincere way.
Months later, they return, and do a home invasion while they sleep and act like psycho killers, take their phones, etc.. The husband and kids had no idea their mother had another life etc.. So, all kinds of stupid stuff happens... they act all psycho killers, while doing nothing at all. Everyone is afraid. Nothing happens, they order chinese food in a very psycho killer way... then play a board game in a very psycho killer way... then the guy takes the father into the workout room to make him do bench presses with lots of weight on the bar. Chinese food comes. The woman/mother goes and answers the door. Never says, "call the police, immediately" to the driver... just pretends everything is normal... why? She says she's going to go get her purse to give the driver a tip, tells him to stay there. In the meantime, the weight on the bench press is too heavy and it drops onto her husbands chest, crack, I guess he's dead.
Now, everyone notices that the woman, the mother, is gone, she took off with the delivery guy.
Everyone stands there, dumbfounded, they can't believe she just up and left them all there.
The End.
Really, that's how it ends.
So, to recap, she left her children behind to reinvent her life.
Her children decide to murder her and her family, but can't seem to bring themselves to kill her teenage kids, but they do kill the totally innocent new husband for some reason... and the woman just leaves.
Now, there are four children with murderous intent.
?
The movie made no sense at all.
Stupidest movie I've seen in a LONG time.
Whoever wrote this movie, is an idiot.
I've given some three stars, some four stars... for some pretty bad movies... but... man, this was totally void of anything. I can't even give it any stars at all. I'll give it the lowest, a 1 star. Literally nothing happened in the entire movie, and the movie was about nothing at all.
Let's mention the writer, Nathaniel Martello-White -- what a TERRIBLE writer. Oh, man, and he directed this, too? Yikes! Double fail. Even the bad movies I can take something away from them... good sets, interesting costumes... good CG... I guess I'll give the 1 star to the crew, good job crew! You showed up to work, you were professional, did your job, and went home. Well done.
The Pentaverate (2022)
Lots Of Potential and Some Good Jokes
Love Mike Myers, but I could smell what he was cooking from the premise... making fun of 'conspiracy theorists', which of course, is code for "anyone saying anything different from the Official Narrative". The entire series (basically it's a long movie chopped up into episodes) is all about how people having free speech, especially on the internet, has allowed the official 'truth' by 'experts' to be muddled. Only 'experts' and 'official narratives' should be allowed, and if only they can solve this, they can cure the planet of 'Climate Change'. So, if you didn't get that, free speech needs to be stopped in order to solve climate change, but of course, free speech is totally allowed, as long as it has been deemed to be 'true' by the 'experts'. It's all wrapped up in comedy skits, but that's the essence of the entire show. Myers is a big fan of PM Trudy and has Trump derangement syndrome which is quite evident throughout the show. There are a few times where it seems a bit confusing as to who they're making fun of, but in the end it's plain and clear that it's all about 'white man bad' and 'diversity good' and 'girl power' and 'climate change' is the ultimate threat to the planet, and 'Official' 'Scientific' 'Truth' needs to reign supreme over 'free speech' -- all very communist ideological rhetorical cultish nonsense. I had some good chuckles at some of the jokes, pop-culture references, Canadian humour, etc., but when the entire premise is all about promoting a underlying political agenda... it's just not funny. In this regard, this show is just like Borat 2, which was SO terrible, at least in this show there were some good-old jokes etc. And I tried to ignore the commie political nonsense, but when the finale just shoves it in your face, uug, terrible. It reminds me of Space Force -- leftists cannot be funny because they lack a sense of humour, that's why they're leftists in the first place. All they can focus on is pushing their politics all-the-while digging their own graves and stabbing each other in the back. I'm surprised they only focused on 'climate change' and said nothing of cvoid or other nonsense. It would have been funny if it were a normal funny show with normal funny actors and if they were all wearing masks during the entire movie and we couldn't understand a thing anyone said through their face diapers so there were subtitles for the entire show -- that would have been much better to watch. And just when you think they're going to take them off, they don't, they're on the the entire show, just to hit it home how stupid and annoying maskers are. Myers says that this show is all about the world becoming a "kind world". So... kindness. Okay, that sounds great, buuuut what's his definition of 'kindness'? In his own words, "...and what's happening in the culture right now is a little bit of a war on expertise, and what I wanted to delineate between {is} expertise and elitism. I just have one message of all this, that experts need to server the people, and the people need to trust the experts. Once that happens, we have a much happier society. And the missing element that we have right now is kindness, which is different than niceness." Personally, I think from that statement that he is a bit confused. That is not what is going on right now at all. The experts have been saying over and over that there is no climate change emergency; that the planet is at a historically low temperature and historically low levels of CO2, and in fact, we need more CO2 for the plants to thrive because the plants, which we humans need for our survival, require about 800ppm to really thrive, but right now we are at perhaps the very low end, 400ppm, and the warming effect of each molecule of CO2 declines as its concentration increases, so CO2 does not contribute to global warming; it is NOT a heat-trapping greenhouse gas. Our current geologic period has the lowest average CO2 concentration in more than 600 million years. That's science. Myers has been fooled, tricked, into believing otherwise. So, I think if anyone wants their movie to be funny, they should stick to comedy and stay away from politics, because those politicians are tricky bast*rds who will say and do anything as long as it benefits themselves.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
What A Terrilble Terrible Terrible Movie
The production value is great, sets, costumes, lighting, CG, etc. The writing, directing.... absolutely amateurishly terrible. It's basically a case of "distract everyone from the terrible movie by giving them a spectacular light and sound show," and this is what you have with this movie. I wish I listened to everyone who told me not to watch it because it was so bad, but it's like driving by an terrible car accident, you can't help but turn and look even though after you look you wish you hadn't because the images are burnt into your mind for the rest of your life. This movie it plain terrible.
Outcasts: Episode #1.1 (2011)
I Love A Good Sci-Fi Space Soap-Opera, NOT
Space Soap-Opera pretty much sums this one up. Silly unbelievable plots, characters that do things nobody else would ever do, after ten years living together they're still all about petty arguments, people shoot other people for almost no reason... they throw a "feminism"conversation right in the dialogue just so that everyone knows what this junk-heap is all about. I thought I'd give this a whirl because it had a pretty good rating... how on earth did it get a rating that high? Makes no sense. A Soap-Opera is a Soap-Opera no matter the setting, and that's what we have here, plain and simple..
Inside Man (2022)
Yikes! Talk About Getting Straight To The Point
Okay, I thought that the premise of the show sounds very interesting and I like David as an actor, so, let's watch it! Immediately at the beginning I'm confronted with a guy "man-spreading" wide like an eagle rubbing his hand on his crotch while looking at the chic sitting across from him. He starts harassing her, then another women, then... 5 minutes in "Toxic masculinity, women fighting back...". Right from the very start some communist feminist man-hating bs. Reminds me of Broadchurch (2013) which started off alright with season one, but went full-commie man-hating trash to the max. Inside Man starts straight off.... ... okay, I'll watch some more and we'll see where it goes... I gave it another half an hour. OMG, absolutely preposterous. I loathe stories where the characters do absolutely insane stupid nonsensical things that nobody in real life would do. You just spend most of your time saying, "Uug, so stupid, why would they do that?" over and over. I'm out. This show is absurd. Who wrote this? What an idiot. As an actor, unless totally desperate, I'd never do a show like this.
Young Wallander: Episode #2.2 (2022)
OMG Can't Stand Characters That Act Irrationally
I see this in so many UK tv shows, especially police investigation shows, where witnesses or other people with information that would help the police investigation evade the police for no reason, tell the police they know nothing for no reason. Etc. Such as in this episode, the main witness constantly lies about what she saw or didn't see, evades the investigator, etc. It's completely stupid and makes no sense at all. She works under the table at the restaurant is NOT a valid reason. She's an illegal immigrant, maybe a small teeny tiny reason, but still not valid, because murder investigators don't care about anyone's immigration or visa etc. Status. I just want to jump into the scene and beat the information out of characters such as this. Do these kinds of people actually exist in real life? If so, how is it that in UK tv shows nearly EVERY character is either fully or partially like this? It's ridiculously very bad writing. At least use your brain and creativity and come up with something that's actually remotely plausible, but hey, it's tough being a uk series writer, because they have to come up with a lame excuse for lying to and evading police for each and every person in the town. It must be exhausting.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
6 Episodes In - Really Good
I knew nothing at all about this show before watching it, hadn't heard of it at all, and turns out it's really cool so far. The writing is good, so far, compared to the garbage writing on most series these days. People have real reactions, make totally acceptable decisions, and have real conversations as opposed to the totally unrealistic things people do and say in most show these days. The times where I thought, "Uh oh, here we go again with people doing things for no rational reason" the incident was explained later on, for example, why didn't so-and-so kill so-and-so when they had the chance -- it made no sense at the time, but was later explained. Most series these days rely on character keeping information from each other, when in real life, if you saw a ghost, the first thing you'd do is go and tell the nearest person, "Hey, I think I just saw a ghost!!' instead of of what typically happens series that have bad writers, "Hey, what's going on, why the weird look on your face?" "Oh, nothing." Anyway, so far so good, we'll see it the quality of the show can be maintained in the coming episodes I have yet to watch.
(update -- finished watching SE2)
Really good show. Love all of the sets, costumes, architecture, etc. The attention to detail is fantastic. By the end of SE2 I got the sense that it was going the way of The 100 series, with perhaps too many characters and story-lines etc.. None-the-less we were really enjoying it, but I've heard that it was cancelled, really too bad, such a quality show. Would love for it to either be renewed or taken up by another media company. The ending was certainly puzzling.
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
Very Good, Who's This Tom Ford Guy?
I knew nothing of this movie going in. Chose it because it looked, from the one-sentence write-up, that it might be interesting. The IMDB one-sentence summary is terrible. It basically ruins the movie if you read that first, let the audience decide what it's all about! Luckily I didn't read it, I read another, "Reading her ex-husband's violent novel manuscript destabilizes gallery owner Susan's life, upending her present while digging up their past." Much better. It kept my attention all the way through. I've seen other movies with similar elements to this one, but this one kept me interested with different approaches. The way in which the different scenes were framed, the cinematography, was really well done. The one scene where Tony is left standing in front of an auto repair shop, hit pause and have a look at that, very interesting. That, in my mind, is the poster for the movie. Many scenes were meticulously set up and framed as this one -- pretty cool, I wish there were more. Anyway, in the end, it seems that this was the perfect way for Tony to express the way in which he feels to such a person. He suffered for 19 years, will she?
Young Sheldon: A Loaf of Bread and a Grand Old Flag (2019)
Really good, but wish they could have done more
I know, it's usually difficult and almost always a bad idea to insert politics etc. Into entertainment, but this strong reaction from the people regarding communism is EXACTLY how everybody *should* react. Fast forward to today and they're teaching communism to the kids in school in various forms: Critical Education, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), LGBTQRST12345, Critical Race Theory (CRT), Racial Literacy, and more, the education system is saturated with communism. Some surveys have shown a huge percentage of young people now believe communism is a good thing. It's not. It should have been explained to Sheldon in simple terms why communism is and ALWAYS is a bad thing. His friend at school could have given him some simple anecdote or reason why his mom said he's not allowed to talk to him. Maybe something about approximately 100 million people dying due to communism around the world.
Young Sheldon (2017)
The First Two Seasons Are Very Good
So far, the first two seasons are very good. Very similar to Atypical. We'll see where this show goes, because Atypical went right off the rails in seasons 3 and 4. I'll update this as I watch more, but so far, two thumbs up.
The show is very similar to Atypical with the narration of The Wonder Years and a heavy dose of late 80s and early 90s sitcom/drama TV shows.
Wallace Shawn is kill'n it -- such a good actor, I can't believe he's 78 and still kill'n it. He comes across as so sincere and genuine, love it.
So far, there hasn't been any commie clown world woke bs.
Ginger Snaps (2000)
Really Good B Horror Movie!
I just re-watched this (in 2022) and it was just as much fun as when I first watched it many years ago. Watched it a few times over the years. One thing I can say for certain about this movie compared to the movies and series of recent years is that the writing is very good in Ginger Snaps. The writing these days is just terrible; writers have no idea how to write dialogue or how to move a story forward without having the characters do really stupid totally absurd irrational things that make no sense. In Ginger Snaps, the dialogue is good and realistic, and the actions the characters do are things that normal rational everyday people would do. Why is that so hard? Plus, there is no woke commie feminist etc. Bs in this movie, which earns it a bonus star.
Futmalls (2020)
Pretty Good - Worth the Watch
So far, season one is free from woke commie feminism etc. So, that always gets an extra star for that alone. It's a terrible name for the show (in English, at least), it's the words Future + Malls put together. Future Shop would have been a better name, but prob. Lost in translation. It's a bit of a sci-fi show grounded in the reality of the current day. I give them kudos for keeping everything grounded and not going off into X-Files territory. This may be the first tv show I've seen from Taiwan. I thought it was prob. From HK, but I was wrong. I look forward to more.

We're Enjoying It But Lots of Bad Writing
The show starts off pretty good, but uuuug, it's the same old problem with so many writers, they do not know how to move the plot forward, so they make the characters do totally irrational things totally outside of common-sense. You know, if they do it once, they can get away with it, because everyone, once in awhile, does something totally irrational for no good reason. Yet, on this show, it's a constant tiresome trope. In every instance that this happens, and it happens more each episode -- we're on ep 7 and it happens every number of minutes now, just terrible -- we immediately say something like, "A normal person would have done ____this____." It's really just so easy to make the characters act and react NORMALLY, but these writers just can't seem to do it. By ep. 7 it's really getting on our nerves, and we're just rolling our eyes and sighing at this point.
A Quiet Place (2018)
It had potential
The thing I hate most about movies like this, is that the writers can't think of anything to move the plot forward, so they make one of the characters stupid and irrational, and thus, that character does things that nobody else in their right mind would do in order to 'move things forward'. So many totally realistic things could have happened to move the story forward, but no, they don't do that. And then, that character, as totally unrealistically as it sounds, figures out in the end what nobody else on the planet (we assume) has been able to. Come on, SO many people would have tried this already. We literally already have such weapons in existence. It was a watchable movie up to a point. I just kept hoping it would get better, but it only gets worse.
Love, Death & Robots: Kill Team Kill (2022)
Really Fun!
This was so cool. Great animation style! Like G. I. Joe 2022! So, funny, too. Really enjoyed it. They had some great characters, too, which they quickly were able to convey to the audience. Really good comedic timing.
Love, Death & Robots: Jibaro (2022)
Wow~! Amazing!
Wow, I've never seen an animation quite like this before. The forest is so realistic. I was just hiking today and it looks just like the place I was at, so I can say that it's so realistic looking (save for a few instances here and there). The reflections, the shimmering, the colours, the shadows... wow, so impressed. I was trying to figure out if maybe they shot it on location then animated the characters in the forest. Surprised to find out that no, it's all animated.
Memento (2000)
Just Loved This Movie
This is one of those movies I remember exactly what theatre I saw it in, where I sat, and the vibe from the rest of the movie goers. There are few movies where the audience is practically participating in the film with their reactions etc. I was right in there with the character; it really pulled me in. After some movies, the audience quietly exits the theatre, but for this one, everyone was all chatter talking about what they had just watched. It's was great, I really enjoyed it! I feel sorry for younger people who will likely never experience something like this when watching movies as they watch most at home and at theatres I haven't seen one in a long long time where the audience was really into it as with this one. Maybe it's because theatres have become very large and very loud as to isolate the audience from each other.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Series Should Be Called "Hatred For All Things Good"
What a disgusting horrid show. It's beyond terrible. Not only is this a terrible show in an of itself, it's an assault on Star Trek and all things good in the world. This show, along with Discovery, is literally in existence in an attempt to completely destroy Star Trek. The writing is horrid beyond belief. Stupendously moronic. There is no way such a terrible show could possibly have a, current, 7.5 rating. Literally, everyone hates this show. Everyone, that is, but the ideological woke who are the brainwashed pions programmed to drool at the ring of their master's bell. Such things only exist as an affront to all cultural goodness in order to destroy every shred of it and put in its place ideological cultish propaganda. Oh, it has quite a financial budget behind it all and the usual visual quality that such money can bring to the screen, but the financial backers of such projects are not interested in creating a profit generating endeavour, no, these people already have all the money in the world and their desires are purely power driven; they look to take control and power of people through shaping societal morals, beliefs, values, and removing freedom in every way, shape, and form including, and perhaps most importantly, the various forms of entertainment which give us such pleasure as music, movies, plays, literature, comedy, dance, celebrations, sports, and so forth. Genuinely good popular TV shows, movies, and music are quite rare these days, and there's a reason for that, it's because all of our forms of entertainment are under assault, not to mention the very freedoms which we like to think are inalienable are being removed at the same time. Picard has the worst viewer ratings of all time; almost nobody is watching this show, yet, they pour millions and millions of dollars into it. The first season was so terrible and there were so few viewers I thought surely this show will be cancelled before the fist season is over, yet, no, they will make a third season. Why? Why would they make a third season of a show that is literally losing them money?? That's right, as I said, they don't care about the money, they only care about destruction. "Star Trek: Picard lost 44% of its initial audience over the course of the show's first 10 episode season". "Star Trek: Picard viewership has plummeted over half a million viewers in Canada in just five episodes". By the end of season two, there are hardly any people watching. The only people I know who are watching are those who do so in order to report back to fans on social media how it continues to dig down into the darkest depths of hatred of everything good. Don't watch this show or any other ST show beyond DS9. Go back and watch the old ones again, they're great. Or check out The Orville, season one is good, and season two is much better as they iron the show out -- made by people who hate what they're doing to ST who said, 'let's do our own show'.
Waiting... (2005)
Reminds me of one of those lame 80s movies
Reminds me of one of those lame 80s movies that tries to be like Animal House, which wasn't a very good movie either, yet falls short every time. This movie is trying to be like one of those lame 80s movies that tries to be like Animal House yet falls short.
