The Inside Man (2019)
I wish all training was like this!
This series regarding cyber security was optional in my new position at work. However, once I watched the first episode, I was literally hooked. The production value of this "training" is fantastic. It's not cheesy, the scenery is lovely and the acting is better than most television shows on TV these days. You learn tidbits about how to keep your information private, using real life examples and a fun storyline. I actually ended up watching some episodes when I wasn't working, because I had to know what was going to happen next! Other creators of training material should take note, you can learn AND be entertained. I wish there was another season.
Succession: Tailgate Party (2023)
The balcony scene!
This episode had so many smaller conversations and pivitol moments, but at a slower pace, so it didn't hit you with a BAM! The dialogue was so rich and important, with Shiv trying to help Lukas and watching it potentially blow up, Roman trying to repair with Geri, and Ken working all the angles as usual. The balcony scene between Tom and Shiv, was a master class in acting. They both better collect their Emmys for that scene! It was so raw and broken and it really made you understand the pain that their characters have been going through. Especially Tom, who's been my favourite since the beginning. Loved it!
The Repair Shop (2017)
The most wholesome show on television!
The only reason I have the Makeful channel, is for this show. It's wholesome content and absolutely talented craftspeople make each episode top notch. I must admit that I've teared up multiple times seeing adults return to a childlike state when their beloved treasure is mended and returned. I've always loved watching people with natural talent flaunt their skills. Master woodworkers, leather, electronic, caning and metal experts are just a few of the special people making dreams come true. How lovely to watch people bring in 100+ year old items back to life and letting traditions continue. 10!
Generation Wealth (2018)
Eye Opening, Stunning Photos and some bleak realities
I love everything that Lauren Greenfield does so when I knew this movie was coming out I was all over it. Her book "girl culture" lies permanently open on my coffee table. And just like her photos, this movie will keep you talking and questioning long after the screen is faded. At times it's content was pretty bleak and actually quite shocking; and at other times a little disturbing. Looking at how the pursuit of absolute wealth can become an obsession and looking at the price you ultimately pay to have it all. I have no idea why this only has a 6.3 rating it is such a great movie, just go watch it already.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007)
Delightful and Heart Warming
I figured because so many people on IMDb were hating on Keeping up with the Kardashians, that I would decide to watch it and figure out why all the hate. I admit that I was also quite interested to find out more about Caitlyn Jenner transition because much of what I knew about her came from the media also .
I went into the show with absolutely zero expectations or preconceived notions. I was incredibly surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. At the end of the day they are happy, loving, sweet people who are family oriented. I really believe that people who have not actually watched more than one random episode and then chose to made a ignorant comment should pull back. Sure, there are periods of vapid self indulgence, crass or lewd behavior, bleeps and bratty meltdowns, but in reality these happen in our own homes too.
All of the Kardashian/Jenner women are beautiful and hold her own insecurities and issues. They're constantly scrutinized in the public eye, no matter what they do; they've been blessed with massive amounts of wealth, fame, and amazing opportunities so people want to paint them as horrible.
They live lives that none of us can actually imagine are real. They essentially make money to be a celebrity, they're married to rap stars, basketball stars and...(of course) to a Lord. However, if you actually watch the show you see that they all work incredibly hard at other aspects of their businesses. They are constantly working, traveling, promoting their brands and products. Being rich and famous obviously gives you opportunities there at the average person wouldn't have but that's not their fault. Most celebrities' children end up getting opportunities other people wouldn't...get over it.
At the end of the day, watch the show see what it's really about, which would be family and being there for each other and giving us a glimpse into fantasy lives that we would never have. Stop the hating, shade and general meanie comments because if you have nothing nice to say then don't post it on IMDB.
