Imaginary (2024)

Un-bear-able

Warning: Spoilers
Creepy yes. Horror no.

Scariest scene: is when the neighbour "Liam" (typical arrogant jock type boy next door character who subsequently attempts to hit it off with Jessica's typical angst moody teenage step-daughter) uses the bathroom, doesn't wash his hands and uses the main characters hand towels.... The thought of someone else using those towels creeped me out the most.

Acting was off, with zero chemistry between cast.

Pyper Braun, was the best at portraying her character as the youngest step-daughter, who can interact/ see and hear "spirits" (another typical trope). She brings more than just the bear to life, and is the only reason I finished this movie.

Tom Payne did not suit as the father figure... He was amazing in the Walking Dead. Half way through he says see ya later, goes on a music tour and leaves new Step Mum Jessica to look after her step-daughters on her own to "bond" with his children, in a new house (unpacked) while she is also working on her own book project... How thoughtful and obscure.

Bad directing throughout, the cast tried there best but it falls flat, it is too predictable and lacks imagination.

Captivating, Compelling and Raw

Incredible movie with amazing acting and casting.

As the story begins to unfold, I was captivated. Extremely moving and inspiring, if you give it time and try understand the complexity of what the main character is going though, thinking, feeling and has been through in her life.

This is by far my favourite movie this year, beats all high budget and hollywood types. Reminds me of "City of God" movie which resonates with me to this day

It is brutally honest, but in an empowering way; we all have struggles, but this story is eye opening and most certainly made me thankful for the little I have but empathetic to those who have less.

Inspired me to keep fighting and gave me hope for humanity. Kindness and compassion is out there, lives can be changed and trauma overcome.

~ Thank you.

It's worth watching

I didn't expect much due to the bad reviews, but found myself plesently surprised. I agree some of the acting is off, however learning more about the folklore, history and background of Godzilla and other Titans was worth it; new perspectives aren't always a bad thing but nothing beats the classics.

Some of the battles/ CGI scenes was actually really good so I don't know why they was given bad reviews.

There's worse series out their, this one had me hooked throughout. Some of the drama between characters isn't necessary and I do agree the 1950s characters where better developed with better acting; but hopefully the 2000s era actors will grow into their own if given a chance for a second season. The Hiroshi father figure storyline and his choices are weird tho and a bit OTT for dramatic purposes.

The L Word - Modernized

Amazing! It can only get better... Feels a little daunting at first, whilst getting to know the new characters and a new plot. Then the original ladies come back with more grit than ever and make you feel at home again. Credit due for doing something new and for pushing boundaries - to make this a safer world for everyone to be themselves!
