Alcatraz (2018)
One of the Most Depraved Pieces of Dreck I Have Ever Had Misfortune to Watch
The headline says it all. This is sick and evil. Don't watch it!
Hangmen (1987)
One of the Worst I Have Ever Suffered Through
I was going to say that this piece of dreck is almost worse than "Plan Nine from Outer Space," or even "Speed" (for which Keanu Reeves deservedly received the Razzie Award). I now realize it _is_ worse than Plan Nine; at least that flick is so bad it is actually laughable. This does not merit even a chuckle. Do not watch this horrible excuse for a movie, unless you are a raving masochist.
Felony (2013)
Better Than 6.1
I think this Australian / Canadian film is better than most Hollywood movies on similar topics. Unlike those low-IQ offerings, this one leaves many questions, some of great moral significance, unanswered and, ultimately, unanswerable. Good acting and great music round it out to be a rewarding challenge to watch and wonder about.
Pan-dola (2016)
Melodramatic Dreck (Spoiler Included)
Unattractive, stereotyped people scream at each other at the tops of their screeching voices, as only orientals, to their credit, can master, in the Korean Language (complete with English sub-titles dominated with the exclamation "Goodness!") for approximately 99% of the full length of this movie. I exaggerate, but not by much.
Melodrama reaches new heights, or, rather, depths. Excruciatingly predictable apocalypse plot. Horrible acting. Really bad special effects.
This is, alarmingly, a "Netflix Original". That appellation his been dragged down to a curse, thanks to cinematic disasters like this one. A few Netflix Original films are worthwhile, such as "House of Cards," and "The Crown," but this is not anywhere near their level.
Snowpiercer (2013)
Don't Dare Compare "Snowpiercer" to "Blade Runner," or even "Brazil"
As good as Blade Runner? Or Brazil? No way. WARNING. From this point on, my entire review is just one big SPOILER. The premise that The Evil Engineer would deign to allow the dirty unwashed tail-car dwellers to be there at all... just to supply little kids as slave labor... is so over-the-top ridiculous as to be laughable in the extreme. The loopholes and illogical story details just get worse and worse as this story limps along. Action, yes, but all based on faulty logic, so it ultimately makes no sense at all. An Allegory? Ha. To paraphrase Monty Python, I fling my boogers in the general direction of your super- pretentious Allegory!
